The average Nigerian does not care as far as the Dugbe Dugbe never reach him doormot

We don't understand that what is bad can always get worse if we don't do the needful

Sudan, Libya, Mali all countries that should point us to where we are headed if we don't course correct but Nigerians don't really care till they are directly impacted
Thank you, that’s the painful truth. Many people only react when d problem finally reach their doorstep, forgetting that ignoring warning signs is how nations gradually slide into deeper crisis, if everybody dey keep acting kò kàn mí, it is like we dey give the perpetrators morale to keep doing more. May God help us.

I mentioned it here in the past that I've not travelled beyond Berger towards Lagos-Ibadan expressway since sometimes around 2017-2018 while Buhari was still there because of the activities of these terrorists kidnapping people on expressway. I fear for my life and that of my loved ones and decided to not tempt the devil since our government has chosen to be useless.

West Ham vs Leeds.

Why is my mind telling me Totteham will still get relegated?
Anything can still happen, westham can beat Leeds but can Tottenham beat Everton?
But I want them to escape relegation

Congratulations Arsenal.

All I can say is next season's title is up for grabs by any top team who takes it seriously.

This city team has been average all season and since they are also going to be managed by the mediocre Maresca, I dont see them getting anywhere.

Corner kick fc isnt going to get as lucky next season. Then you have a Liverpool who's also going through their own rebuild & woes. Who knows, maybe Xabi Alonso actually can compete for the title. Noticed the boys doing some form of audition tonight
LMAO @ audition grin

That you don't like something or it has been abused doesn't mean the original reasoning behind it wasn't legit.

In the US, whose form of democracy is similar to ours, their legislators are allowed to do multiple terms too and the country looks better for it.
My brother, they only copy the parts of american democracy that will only benefit them. But they refuse to copy the things that would benefit ordinary citizens, like stable electricity, a standard healthcare system for all, good roads, functional public transport, good roads, quality education, and working institutions, like the ones America they copy from actually enjoys.

If they can successfully copy the democratic system from America, then copying the policies and structures that improve the quality of life for citizens shouldn’t be difficult to copy nao. Those are the kinds of things ordinary Nigerians truly need. We don’t need Methuselah politicians who are too old to have fresh ideas.

Seriously, there should be constitutional reforms to limit the number of terms lawmakers can spend in the HoA and NA.
If governors can be restricted to 2 terms, why should there be no clear limit for legislators?
Also, there should be a law restricting former governors moving directly into the Senate immediately after leaving office. In Ogun State for example, almost every former governor seems to see the Senate as the next political destination. Ibikunle Amosun is already a senator, Gbenga Daniel is also in the Senate, and Daru Dapo is fighting tooth and nail to become senator after he completed his 2 terms in 2027.

Allowing former governors to move straight to the National Assembly is gradually becoming a political soft landing for dem, and many people see it as a way for them to avoid serious scrutiny from agencies like the EFCC while still keeping political protection and immunity after leaving office.

There should be reforms to stop this automatic movement from Government House to the Senate. If you choose to become governor, you should already know that after your tenure, Senate should not automatically be the next bus stop.

A small group of politicians controlling both executive and legislative positions for many years only reduces chances for fresh leaders, new ideas, and real political competition. Democracy grows better when new voices and new faces also have the opportunity to lead, since 1999 we just dey recycle the same set of people.
Nonsense

BlueRayDick:
The points you listed in the bolded are actually more loaded than they seem.

For example, let's look at failure to fulfil responsibilities : It can be financial in nature, sexual and even psychological in nature.

A man may suddenly go broke and becomes unable to fulfil his financial responsibilities to his family. He may try his best but things end up not working out. There is no amount of communication he may apply, once the bills are not getting paid the woman may start looking for way out of the marriage.

All those talks about patience, mutual respect, forgiveness etc will fly out of the window.

Methinks all those "infidelity, abuse, failure to fulfil responsibilities" you listed as valid grounds for divorce are intertwined with "understanding, communication, forgiveness, patience, and mutual respect." which you expected partners should exhibit to have a long lasting union. They are not independent of each other.

I don't know if I make sense sha.
I understand your point, and I actually agree that these issues are interconnected. My point, is that many marriages today collapse too quickly over problems that could still be managed with maturity, patience, understanding, and genuine commitment from both sides.

Using your example of financial hardship, if a man genuinely falls on hard times but remains responsible, transparent, hardworking, and still makes efforts to provide for his family, then understanding and patience should naturally come into play. Marriage vows exist “for better or for worse,” not only for the comfortable seasons.

Almost all our mothers have stories of how they struggled with their husbands during difficult periods before things eventually got better. They endured hardship together and built from nothing. But with this Gen z generation , it is becoming increasingly rare to find people willing to stay committed during seasons of struggle.
Many now want the finished product while they themselves are still raw, so raw + raw is equal to collapse. it's like sands mix with water without cement and you want use it to build mansion, marriage is for matured minds not for kids, Marriage is the only institution where you receive a certificate before you begin the course, (meaning there is no more graduation.) The course you keep learning throughout the union is “for better, for worse.” So when divorce sets in, it is like you defraud the institution that gave you the certificate, because the motto of the institution that issues the certificate is “till death do us part.” 😂😂😂

That said, I am not referring to situations where a partner completely abandons his or her responsibilities, refuses accountability, becomes abusive, reckless, chronically unfaithful, or engages in criminal behavior. Those are serious issues that can destroy the very foundation of a marriage and are far different from temporary setbacks or normal human imperfections.
So if none of these extreme issues are present in a marriage, and the couple is blessed with children, I personally see no reason why two mature individuals should be quick to seek divorce instead of working through their differences with patience, understanding, and commitment.
My opinion though...

How consistently do you think he gets those event hosting gigs?

There's a lot of competition in the industry with seasoned professionals and young cats in the game.

Also, many actors, comedians, TV anchors/Radio OAPs don crossover and dey do this event hosting and MC thing now. Off hand, there's

Ebuka Obi-Uchendu.
Ik Osakioduwa
Gbenga Adeyinka
Bovi
Basket Mouth
Nancy Isime
Kie Kie
Ali Baba
Gordons
AY
Dotun
Roby Ekpo
Seyi Law.
Koffi
Rufai Oseni
Ruben Abati.
Toke Makinwa

etc

I have no doubt he'll be getting gigs here and there but I dont think it'd be enough to meet domestic/family responsibilities and maintain his lifestyle.

He should go back to radio and TV so he can draw a monthly income while doing the event hosting thing on the side.
I don't get dis.
Rufai Oseni and Ruben Abati dey do what? 😂

Gbamsolutely, Oil dey your head

These are the undoing of many men and women today. There is no perfect man or perfect woman out there. Aside from infidelity, abuse, failure to fulfil responsibilities, or maybe one party is involvement in criminal activities, I see no reason why a marriage should fall apart. Many marriages would last if couples learned understanding, communication, forgiveness, patience, and mutual respect.

You may divorce one person because of a bad habit, only to discover that the next one you maeried has worse flaws. A happy home is built by two imperfect people willing to grow together, not by looking a perfect partner which doesn't exist anywhere.

Even you and I reading this were not perfect when you first got married. We learned, adjusted, and grew with time.
