Make una answer. At least una go be the first English team to win the Conference league twice...😂
The last time your team played, Chelsea have already played three matches since then, yet your team is still waiting to kick a ball.
If you still fail to finish in the top 2 this season with the luxury of playing just one game every two weeks, they should simply disband man u team and distribute the players among the other 19 teams. 🤣

People on this side always accept anything given to them. I wonder why no one raises an eyebrow about it. That’s why I said the referee needs an urgent refresher course.

We dey do nostalgic overrating. Some of these players of yesteryears are not all that. Many currently are better
Yes, today’s players are better because they are exposed to far better conditions than players in the past. Todsy’s footballers enjoy advanced training facilities, modern technology, specialized coaches for different aspects of the game, sports scientists, dieticians, and detailed analyst .
They also have access to better medical care etc. All these help to improve the overall quality of players today.

Though, even with these advantages, there are still a few exceptional players from the past whose level many of today’s players cannot match. No doubt about that.

Now my question be this, if we agree that today’s players are generally better prepared and more developed, why do many people still claim that the overall level of football today is inferior to what it was back then? Why people still dey talk say football that time better pass the one we dey watch now?
But me no toe that line ooo.

Madrid of 2016 to 2019 with CR7 will flog badly the Galacticos Madrid of 2000 to 2003
I quite agree with the first 2, but that one about Madrid? No, no, no.
Those ones are the ones we regard as Galacticos, Zidane, Figo, Casillas, Raul, Carlos, the real Ronaldo, etc., etc.

That’s because my analysis of football is at a professional level. City has no pressing intensity which is why Courtois had the time to pick out Valverde. Think of it like the game as City where Maresca played a high line without pressing intensity.
The last time Courtois faced PSG, they lost embarrassingly after trying a thousand long balls.
Thank you for making my point for me.
The last time Chelsea tried insisting on playing out from the back against PSG , they were punished badly and lost embarrassingly too, because PSG’s press kept forcing mistakes.
So it’s not automatically true that playing long balls is the problem. Sometimes going long is actually the safer option when the opponent is pressing aggressively.
Football is about adapting to the situation, not forcing one ideology that will not work.

Man city were undone by a long ball from Courtois but we are meant to belive the most effective ways to beat a team that presses deep like man city is to play out from the back .

Coach, Keeper, captain.

Una do well O. 😂

That was frustrating like mad. 😬

Meanwhile and like I always say, Enzo no dey field, Enzo no dey field, man busy creating assists or scoring goals.

Particularly like how he let the keeper know wetin dey sup. He was the captain without the armband. Period.

From "Ghost worker" to Box Crasher.

Yes, we are watching.
While many were shouting ghost worker, you kept backing Enzo from day one. Now he’s replying the critics the best way possible with goals and assists.
As people say, stats don't lie, numbers don't lie, and you can’t argue with the stats, even if he has weakness, the numbers have always been there to back him, people can only be pointing at his supposed weaknesses, while coach will be pointing to numbers of goals and assits, and no coach will discard a player with numbers like that.
From ‘ghost worker’ to box crasher.
Respect for standing by him.
Truly truly, "We are watching".🤣

Though, I still expect more from him.

Well, that aimless ball was what Dembele scored from.
F1ootball is not 1+1=2, and this is what is killing the likes of Maresca,Conte,Rosenoir.
It has a lot of gray areas that you just have to do what works for your players individually and collectively and not what works for you because the players are the tools you are working with.
Thank You.

@bolded.

Not always true.

If you set your team up well, you’ll win second balls and launch a quick fire attack from there.

As clueless as Amorim was, this was how he defeated Liverpool at Anfield. You can’t keep trying a dangerous tactic that doesn’t work in the hope that it eventually works.
Thank you.

Passing out from the back and beating the press is the most effective way to score a high pressing team.

We need a goalkeeper and a manger who can do this efficiently. I wouldn’t because of this loss back sending aimless long balls straight to the opponent.

Let’s be honest with ourselves, how do you score a team that presses you very high?

Maresca beat PSG press multiple times and PSG couldn’t beat ours as much. Guess who won.
Playing out from the back may be effective if you have the players who can execute it for you, but football is also about adapting to the strengths of the players you currently have.
You can’t force a system that repeatedly puts the team in danger, this is what many of us are be saying since the game started

If you try something repeatedly and it keeps leading to costly mistakes or leading to goals, a good manager has to be pragmatic.
The opposing coach is also watching closely. Once he notices that the goalkeeper is not comfortable playing out from the back, he will instruct his players to keep pressing that area and force errors. You could see it clearly, that Jogensen made 4 errors. He escape with 2, but the other 2 led to goals.

Sometimes the smart option is to go long, relieve pressure, and reorganize.
This isn’t about reverting to aimless long balls. It’s about decision making and game management. And if the opposing team realizes you’ve switched to playing long balls instead of building from the back, they will stay compact and keep their defense intact, making them less likely to press or attack you. You shouldn’t let the opposing team read your game.
