Emilokan promised us steady electricity during his campaign, are you saying we shouldn't have believe him?
There's no challenge here, these useless SOB just refuse to do the right thing because of their own selfish interest, imagine a whole government house being powered by solar same man that promised us steady power.
This alone should even disqualify him from next election
Believe any politician at your own....

Nigeria is richly blessed with mineral resources, far more abundant than what our politicians have shared among themselves. But this time, I’m ready to make things right.
If you vote for me, I promise to give every citizen ₦1 million every month.
So please, vote for me as your next president.

BlueRayDick:
You are literally making this post to justify failure.

Nothing concern me with Fashola or any other failed minister. Nobody expects Adelabu to perform miracle, but we are not expecting things to get worse under his tenure as minister. We expect things to get better when government takes over from another because ideally governance should be continuum, but the opposite is the case here.

Adelabu came up with the theory that making consumers pay more via the band system would translate to improved power supply. Tho most of us never believed him, were forced to go along with it in hope that when premium price is paid; premium service would be delivered. But what do we have today? Your guess is as good as mine, things have turned out for worse.

As bad as Buhari's administration was, things were not as bad as this in the power sector. Haba! If Adelabu cannot better our lot, he should please resign abeg and go face his governorship ambition in his state. Let someone who can even keep things at status quo replace him instead of the nonsense he's serving us.
If you read my post carefully, you should know that I’m not defending or justify failure.
I started by saying there are certain jobs one should decline, no matter how lucrative they appear, and Nigeria’s power ministry is one of them.
No matter how hard you try in that position, people will still call you out because the rots in that sector can not be addressed obernight and the ministry itself is extremely demanding.
Imagine being responsible for serving 100 people when the resources available to you can barely serve 5. How do you cope in such a situation?
That is essentially the reality facing Adelabu.

What past governments failed to address for over 65 years, we now expect one person to fix in less than a year. What kind of magic do we expect him to perform?
So I’m not defending him, I’m simply stating the facts.
You can quote me anywhere, as things stand in this country today, there is nobody, let me repeat, nobody, who can be appointed Minister of Power and completely transform the electricity situation within a year 2 or 3. It doesn’t matter whether the person comes from Nigeria, America, or anywhere else in the world, but it is gradual process, I believe we will get there .
The scale of the problem is far beyond what one individual or one tenure can fix.

Just to put things in perspective, last year I read that China generates over 3.3 million megawatts of electricity, while Nigeria struggles to transmit about 4,500 to 5,000 megawatts for a population of over 230 million people. That alone shows how deep the challenge really is.

Omo, all through last week I was in Port Harcourt inside a facility that generates its own electricity without light going off for one second!

As much as I missed my family while away, the moment I landed back in Lagos and enter my house na Bayo Adelabu sponsored darkness and this current heat wave wan finish me. I ran generator from Afternoon till night yet NEPA no show love. Na next day dem bring light.

How anybody will look that Bayo Adelabu guy and claim he is doing well irrespective if his academic qualification and work experience is nothing but t insanity to me angry
There are some jobs one should decline, no matter how attractive the offer may be.
The Ministry of Power in Nigeria is one of them. Even you, if you were appointed as Minister of Power today, there is very little you could achieve within a short time.
Take Babatunde Fashola for example. He was widely regarded as a highly competent and capable man. Yet many people believe that accepting the power ministry ultimately dented his reputation, to the point that critics mockingly referred to him as the “Minister of Darkness.”

So, Experts estimate that Nigeria needs about 30,000 to 40,000 megawatts of electricity to enjoy stable power supply. but the country still struggles to generate around 5,000 megawatts on average since independence, that was over 65 years ago, since Nigeria stands alone.
The question then is, what miracle can any Minister of Power perform within four years to produce the additional 25,000 or 35,000 megawatts that successive governments have failed to deliver over the past 65 years?
Nigeria’s past governments are the ones that failed woefully in power generation, not the current Minister of Power.

Let’s swap the current best performing minister, David Umahi, to the Ministry of Power and see, if he can perform magic there. 🤣😂😂

well I can't say, but I think it will be more about efficiency.
I know a bad diesel can wear out an engine quickly, but I’m not entirely sure about petrol. But what I’m sure of is that super petrol will have some advantages over ordinary petrol.

Was this like in the 80s or 90s?

I would really love to see us have the rated options for vehicles.

Most of our Petrol and Diesel these days ehn.

"Check engine light" don dey permanent for almost all cars for Nigeria
From 70s to early 80.
It was stop because of dubious practices by marketers selling ordinary petrol as super.
But you may still be lucky to buy super petrol in Nigeria if the fuel is locally refined. No importer brings super petrol into the country because most of them go for the cheapest option.
But I don't know that of Dangote's nao ooo.

Money na water wicked abroadian branch
So una they choose una poison which one is Premium Gasoline and Regular Gasoline
Nigeria once operated a two-grade petrol system too.
The lower grade was known as “Ordinary,” while the higher grade was called “Super.”

I think it was due to economic challenges, the dubious practices of some petrol marketers who sold ordinary petrol as super, or importation issues that both grades were eventually merged into a single petrol type.

Thouh ordinary petrol and super petrol still exist in Nigeria. You might be lucky to buy super petrol if you happen to get fuel that is refined locally, but they are no longer differentiated by price.
