Furthermore, the AGF emphasized that the meeting of the Body of Attorneys-General aims to address problems and frictions that arise from shared constitutional and statutory responsibilities between the federal and state governments. He also stressed the importance of strengthening the entire justice sector, particularly the administration of criminal justice, to meet the goals of justice and the expectations of Nigerian citizens. The AGF highlighted that an effective and functional justice system is crucial for the overall development, stability, and sustainability of society
Furthermore, the Attorney General of Nigeria has urged his colleagues to implement financial autonomy for the judiciary as mandated by the Constitution. He emphasized the need to strengthen the judiciary by investing in personnel, infrastructure, and technology to automate court operations and establish a digital justice delivery system. The Attorney General also highlighted the importance of improving justice sector institutions and practices in order to enhance access to justice and build public confidence. The government plans to convene a National Summit on Justice to assess the progress made and engage all stakeholders in constructive discussions. Additionally, collaboration with the legislative arm of government is encouraged to reform existing laws and develop new legislations to address critical gaps within the justice sector.
