The APC government has lied excessively. Any responsible and discerning Nigerian can see this clearly. The claim that U.S. President Donald Trump would first call or formally notify Nigerian leaders before acting against ISIS is false. It did not happen. Donald Trump does not operate that way. He understands power, authority, and leverage. He does not seek validation from leaders he does not respect. There was no call. No consultation. No formal notice. Plainly stated: those claims are lies. The reason is simple. Nigerian leaders have lost international respect and honor. Through persistent misgovernance, abuse of power, and the systematic impoverishment of the people, they have sold Nigeria’s sovereignty, dignity, and national pride. Respect is not demanded; it is earned. Nigeria’s leadership has lost it. No serious nation today genuinely respects Nigeria’s leadership. What exists is pretense and transactional engagement. Where foreign powers engage Nigeria, it is not out of honor or regard, but for money and strategic interest. Nothing more. This is why external actors interfere freely without restraint. When people insist that Trump would have called Nigeria before striking ISIS, they reveal a poor understanding of global power dynamics. Intelligence channels may communicate at technical levels, but that is not the same as political respect or leadership consultation. World powers act when it suits their interests. The truth is uncomfortable but unavoidable: Nigeria’s leaders are largely disregarded internationally because of corruption and failed governance. America does not function by improvisation, sentiment, or public pressure. It functions by doctrine, intelligence, and long-term mapping. The moment a precedent is set and an official warning is issued such as a statement that killings must stop it is not a casual announcement. Within intelligence culture, such warnings are signals. Nigerians often already know that when such signals are released, action is likely to follow. The difference is that the action is not rushed, noisy, or predictable. What is most striking and deeply sobering is the level of power embedded in how America operates. Power here is not loudness; it is control. People expect that if America were to strike, they would hit obvious flashpoints like Borno, Zamfara, or Benue places already saturated with visible violence. But instead, they strike elsewhere, including locations many would not immediately expect. That alone reveals intelligence superiority. Precision, not popularity, governs target selection. This is where misunderstanding deepens. People begin to speculate: “They hit farmland,” “They missed,” “They struck the wrong place.” Such talk exposes ignorance of how modern military intelligence works. No advanced military wastes a drone missile costing millions on an empty or insignificant location. Assets are deployed only after layered verification: satellite imagery, signal intelligence, human intelligence, and pattern-of-life analysis. You do not joke with American intelligence. They do not guess. They map. They map leadership, logistics, training routes, financial pipelines, and communication hubs. What people see on the surface is rarely the real center of gravity. The real hubs are often hidden, quiet, and strategically placed. By the time a strike happens, the target has already been studied, tracked, and confirmed over time. This is why asking, “Why didn’t they go to Borno?” misses the point entirely. Modern warfare is not about chasing noise; it is about collapsing networks. In air manoeuvring, air mapping, and air navigation, America does not operate alone. Targets are marked with exact coordinates. This is not guesswork. This is engineering-level accuracy. They do not miss targets because missing is costly politically, militarily, and strategically. Precision is not optional; it is foundational to doctrine. Finally, observe the silence. You do not see terror networks coming out loudly to claim nothing happened or to mock the strike. Because Trump has now put Nigeria on the global map for the worst possible reason ever. A US missile strike on Nigerian soil. Then a public announcement that America struck ISIS terrorists in Nigeria 👈 That single statement has done serious diplomatic damage to Nigeria. Nigeria’s image has been dragged into a category it has never openly occupied before. And this could have been avoided months ago. If the leadership had acted with precision. If they had controlled the narrative. If they had managed the media. If they had crushed the insurgents quietly and decisively. But they failed. Completely. From the security adviser. To the army command. To the media handlers. To the presidential circle. Up to the president himself. They failed first to control the story. They failed to counter propaganda. They failed, most importantly, to end the insurgency. Now it has spilled beyond our control. Inside Nigeria, life feels normal. People are dancing, posting, moving on. But outside Nigeria, the picture is different. To the international community, Nigeria is now being associated with terrorism. Terrorism they have neglected since 2009 Travel restrictions are only the first signal. Clearing this image will not be easy. It will require the government to go all in. Diplomatically. Militarily. Politically. Media-wise. They must prove, that Nigeria is safe again. And that process is neither fast nor simple. That is why this strike worries me. Still, one thing remains true.
