He said, “Therefore, pursuant to Florida’s Public Records Law (Chapter 119, Florida Statutes) and your office’s commitment to government transparency, I respectfully request the following information: Confirmation of Receipt: Written confirmation that your office received a formal petition or communication from Mr. Omoyele Sowore regarding Nyesom Wike in or around late September 2025.
“Investigation Status Update: A disclosure of the current status of any review or investigation initiated by your office into these allegations. This includes: The exact date the matter was brought to your attention; a summary of any preliminary investigative steps already taken (e.g., subpoenas for records, inquiries to county property appraisers, analysis of financial transactions); a statement on whether the matter is under active investigation, has been referred to another agency (such as the FBI or IRS Criminal Investigation), or has been closed.”
He continued, “Identification of Intermediaries: Given the complexity of cross-border money laundering, such schemes invariably involve intermediaries.
“To fully understand the mechanism of these alleged crimes, I request any information your office can share regarding the identities of the U.S.-based entities that facilitated these transactions, including but not limited to: Law Firms & Closing Attorneys: The names of any law firms or real estate attorneys that handled the closing proceedings and title transfers for the aforementioned properties.
“Financial Institutions: The names of any banks or financial institutions through which the funds were wired or held, if the transactions were not entirely physical cash.
“Real Estate Agents & Brokers: The names of the property consultants, real estate agents, or brokerage firms that listed the properties and facilitated the sales.
“Corporate Entities: The names of any shell companies or LLCs that may have been used as vehicles for these purchases.”

“However, casualties are still being counted and dozens of vehicles were destroyed in the attack.”

The company was working for the university when Adepoju manipulated email accounts, created a spoofed domain, and posed as a company employee.
Using fraudulent emails, he convinced the university to redirect payments to a bank account he controlled, leading to the loss of $235,266.80, which has not been recovered.
The statement said, "Adepoju used this unauthorized access to create rule changes within the email account of an employee with the construction company, and then registered a spoofed domain and spoofed email account to assume the identity of another employee of that company.
"From that spoofed email account, Adepoju sent fraudulent emails to employees of the university, requesting that they update the construction company’s payment information to a fraudulent bank account.
“Relying upon the emails, the university updated the payment information to the fraudulent bank account that Adepoju provided and sent a payment of approximately $235,266.80 to that account, funds that the university has not recovered."
Acting United States Attorney Rivetti, said, “Adepoju is charged with using sophisticated cyber means to illegally access accounts belonging to a business in order to victimize one of our region’s universities.
“Even from halfway across the world, however, Adepoju was not beyond the investigative reach of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. His arrest in the United Kingdom underscores our district’s unwavering commitment to aggressively locate and prosecute cybercriminals worldwide with the assistance of our law enforcement partners—both here and abroad.”
FBI Pittsburgh Special Agent in Charge Kevin Rojek stated, “Criminals who think they can reach across the globe into the United States to line their pockets at the expense of the American public need know one thing: the FBI and our partners are not going to let you get away with it.
“We will find you and bring you to justice, no matter where you might be. Email compromise schemes are not victimless crimes; they are one of the costliest threats large and small businesses, universities, and organizations face today.”
Adepoju is charged with six counts of wire fraud and one count of computer fraud. The law provides for a maximum total sentence of up to 20 years in prison for each of the wire fraud offenses and up to five years in prison for the computer fraud offense.
Meanwhile, under the federal Sentencing Guidelines, the actual sentence imposed would be based upon the seriousness of the offenses and the prior criminal history, if any, of the defendant.

Culinary talent and Internet Sensation , Damilola Adeparusi, popularly known as Chef Dammy, has denied claims that she is preparing to cook the largest pot of beans, after Celebrity Chef Hilda Baci broke the record for largest serving of jollof rice.
Chef Dammy, who is on a full scholarship at the Hospitality Business School in Lagos where she is studying for a professional culinary diploma, clarified the speculation in a video she posted on social media on Wednesday , saying she has no plan for such.
“I’d like to send a very big congratulations to Ms. Hilda for the just completed project of cooking the biggest pot of jollof rice to feed thousands.
“Congratulations to Nigeria as a whole too, because this is a win for everybody in Nigeria, to all the African countries,” Chef Dammy said.
Addressing the rumour about the largest pot of beans, she stated,”So, I’m actually making this video because people have been asking me, like, do you want to cook again?
“Some of my classmates are still telling me that, ‘Dammy, do you truly want to cook beans?’ Like, no! Why would I do that?”
The Ekiti chef, who shot into the limelight after her 2023 cook-a-thon attempt, further thanked those who have continued to support her.
“I would just like to say thank you to everybody that has been supporting me, to everybody that has been fighting on my behalf online, to my school mothers, to everybody, and to everybody that has helped in my growth and promotion, that has been supporting me financially,” she said.
