I got the MTN ODU earlier today at the MTN's HQ in Abuja. The device is being handled by the broadband team, not customer service walk-in. You are asked to pay #30,100.

After registration, the 100Mbps unlimited plan was activated, and it started working immediately. The ODU MTN is currently issuing is the ZLT X17U, same as the one of Airtel, same IDU as well.

I got home and started streaming with it and carrying out speed tests. I never got up to the advertised 100Mbps, it was hovering around 40 to 70Mbps on both 4G and 5G. it could be because of the MTN network issues we have been having in my location for the past one month or there about.
The thing is, i live directly under a base station and speed used to be excellent. In fact, i used to get up to 200Mbps on MTN 4G even in the daytime. But all of a sudden, MTN data services took a bad turn for over a month now. I can't even get up to 80Mbps on 5G, same 5G i used to get 400Mbps+.

Apart from the network challenges in my location, the other thing pissing me off about the MTN ODU is the ODU's interface. It's bland, lack features like the Airtel variant. It doesn't have the settings to enable or disable network bands or to lock them. It doesn't have the settings to change the internal antenna's directions like you can on the Airtel's variant, this particular feature helped me a lot with Airtel. The interface also doesn't show your data usage count like the one of Airtel. In fact, the interface is so annoying.

I'm not discouraging anyone from getting it. If you know you can live without those features on the Airtel ODU as a power user, then go ahead and get it. The speed issue might as well be a problem specifically with my location as i mentioned earlier. I will be reporting the network issue to MTN.

This is the message you receive on the device after the 100Mbps plan is successfully activated, it specifically says the plan is without FUP (Fair usage Policy), and some images of the interface.

I see that it's e sim and I guess the renewal is also 30k right

Anybody that has able to get the MTN ODU should please come give review

I've been streaming the world cup in HD channels and it's not because Airtel is the best network here (average speed is 20 to 25mbps). But I noticed an improvement in streaming speed on my PC when I switched from WIFI connection to Ethernet.

Ran an Ethernet cable from indoor router straight to my PC. And it's been incredible so far

Wired connection is always faster than wireless

Use official logistics company like GIG logistics, GUO logistics , DHL , FedEx, though higher fees but completely safer than giving it to a driver for waybills

I was getting all these years but last week I subscribed, got the message that I got 10% but never got the actual money paid into my Smartcash account. Calling their CC on 939 didn't give option to speak with them. I just let it slide.

Happened to me once, didn't get the bonus, sometimes there is a glitch but after that, I have been getting the bonus anytime I recharge my line through smartcash

This is the way it works, every smartcash account start with 20k bonus, every cash back you get is from that 20k. Once it is finished I believe that ends the cashback, you can dial *939# to check your account balance and you’ll see what’s left of the bonus account too.

Not sure this is correct though cause I started getting the bonus on the 30k 20mps plan till this ODU was launched and I switched, do the math , e suppose don pass 20k by now

No it won't work on normal phone except routers that the previous 20MPS plan worked on before

Yes sim swaps works but you have to use a router that supports the ODU plan with it

It includes a 4,500mAh battery with 25W charging, IP67 water resistance, and supports 5G connectivity) for sale, everything but the screen works perfectly fine. It's a phone I used. A power bank fell on the screen which spoilt it and then I got a fake screen but that didn't last (it just stopped responding to screen touches). I took it to Samsung office and I was told to buy original screen which costs 130k.

All the problems you guys experience here with Airtel is only on the ODU devices. Get your sims of that trash and get yourself a 4g router.

I personally use the X25pro and I don’t experience any downtime at all month in month out. Flawless network experience.

I dey tell you, it’s like they installed a bug on the ODU that disrupts internet connection to limit the amount of GB you can use, I am using a 4G router airtel hertz 6 to be precise and I hardly experience down time all month long

Airtel hertz 6 works with the ODU physical SIm without tweaking, that's what I am currently using,as a matter of fact all the devices that worked with the 20 MPS plan can work with the ODU physical SIm

Or airtel is purposely throttling down subsribers on unlimited data plan because it is common knowledge that when subscribed to capped data plans on airtel, one hardly ever has to deal with any form of network issues, only happens when subscribed to unlimited plans.

Honestly thinking same thing and I wouldn't be surprised if that's the case cause the normal capped data plans browses at optimum speed 99% of the time but once it comes to unlimited that's not the case

I think they are trying to limit the number of GB we would be able to use

Non ODU subscription is working well and i still have people closer using the HBB 30k sub ,the speed is normal .it feels like its only me against the world.

Call their customer, ask to speak with a supervisor, those ones that first pick the call don’t know anything

Come to think of it i think they will never retrieve the device even if you failed to sub for 3 months cus that's what they said with that Nokia own then and there was no retrieval i still have the device seff but that one no get power bank

They said I have to sub for two years before the device becomes mine and they have the right to retrieve it if I fail to sub for three months, I just dey look dem dey laugh 😂
