Op, u are not such a nice person. In fact u are a selfish somebody, from ur write up, at least I thought u wanted to say that after rescuing ur sister that the next thing that came to ur mind was how to rescue or at least be sure that other occupants were fine, but I was so disappointed that the next thing u cared more about was ur phone and that of ur sister's, u are really a worldly man.

It all happened the day before yesterday which is Sunday evening the 20th of June, I and my younger sister were coming back from ekehuan barracks ,those in Benin City will know where I am talking about.

So we boarded a tricycle popularly called keke-napep, in no time it was filled up , but the last passenger was a woman with a child not more than 7 I think, so the keke driver said one of us should go to the front seat from the back seat so that the woman with her child can seat at the back, I wanted to go and sit at the front but another guy already did , so the keke driver entered and start his keke and we were on our way to asoro bus stop.


We just passed the first barrack gate when it all happened, an Audi 80 packed by the right side of the road, the person in the back seat just opened its door suddenly without looking if any vehicle is coming from behind , the keke driver tried to swerve and dodge it but unfortunately it hit the door, I heard a load sound and the next thing I knew was that the keke tumbled and was already summersaulting, I saw my life flashed right before my eyes , in fact I taught that I was going to die , I think the keke summersaulted more than 10 times and we landed inside the gutter by the right side of the road. I was the among the first to come out of the keke wreckage, everyone was shouting Jesus, including me, as I came out, the first thought that came to my mind was my younger sister, I saw her inside the keke wreckage, both were inside the gutter, immediately I saw her in that state , I started crying immediately like a baby because I taught the worst had happened because she was submerged inside the keke in the gutter. I went in and tapped her back , called her name and she responded , I asked how she was , she said that she was fine, I heaved a heavy sigh of relief and tried to drag her out, but she was stuck in the leather material used as roof of the keke. By this time , a huge crowd had already gathered , so they pushed the keke out the gutter but my dear sister was still stuck in the leather material used for the keke roof and in the process of pushing the keke out of the gutter, a small iron injured my sister's leg, that was the only injury among other little scratches she sustained,but with the help of the keke driver and some other people we were able to drag her out. Now that I already got my sister out, the next thing that came to my minty was my two phones.

Till now I am still surprised how my two phones, held by my left hand which is my weaker hand because I am right handed, was held firmly till the end , the next thing was my sister's phone, I started shouting and asking who took her phone , fortunately for me, a small boy not more than 6 or 7 I think showed me and asked is this the phone , I was happy and relieved ,I said yes and collected the phone and then checked my pocket it was remaining a thousand naira, two pieces of 500, I pressed one 500 into his hand and thanked him.

That was how me and my younger sister survived what would been a great tragedy if the worst had happened

I started reminiscing and thinking of whatifs ,what if a car or even a tipper truck was coming when the keke was summersaulting , maybe we would have been history by now. What if I went to the front seat when the Keke driver asked for someone to go to the front seat.

What if , what if , so that's how two siblings from the same parents would have gone just like that. I am not sure my mother would have been able to take it..
