Phones › Re: Airtel Unlimited Data Thread! Best Data Plan In 2024!! by morikee: 11:53pm On Jan 28 |
Gidah: Actually notnsure if thats the reason but im convinced uts the start of the problem Your problem has to do with Airtel aggressive throttling they do this to some people sometimes you have to get another ODU sim different from the one that comes with the device to break free from that speed throttling cus Airtel won't fix no matter how much you complain they will only do so at their own discretion |

NSEstudent: So when they said if no subscription they will take it back, what would they do if they come around and see that the reason it's not being subscribed is because the battery is dead and they don't have spare parts? They are not serious at all.
I already see people selling the routers in black markets for mere 40k and stuff.
This is why Starlink is thriving. Small issues they will change the entire package for you, free of charge. Come to think of it i think they will never retrieve the device even if you failed to sub for 3 months cus that's what they said with that Nokia own then and there was no retrieval i still have the device seff but that one no get power bank |

NSEstudent: Call their customer care. I don’t even think this device has a warranty. The other one I helped my friend buy came with a battery issue, and when I reported it to the Airtel office where it was bought, they said they don’t do repairs and don’t even have spare batteries. My friend is still using it without battery backup. |

moremuch1: This is the x17U, a downgrade of X17M , it has a lot of complaints from this thread, it's only selling point is the battery life which is way better than the X17M, if that's the only device available, he should get it , but if there's another model available, he shouldn't get this Yeah they only have this type |

4litres: So i have been following the thread for awhile now and i have learnt a lot from all of u. I also want to give a small update I just discovered. So i have this m30 mifi that has wan port and i decided to use it in place of the idu so as to reduce the bulk and battery consumption when moving it around. Lo and behold, it worked like a charm and the battery now lasts way over 12hrs since it's only the odu that's now connected to it. So basically, the idu was the main culprit on the power bank since it uses dc power. This also means, if u have any mifi that has a wan port on it, doesn't matter if it's mtn or airtel, it will work. This won't work with ZLT |

enoch5553: No oh. This problem has been since. Before I even got a physical SIM. It started on the 12th
Me swapping to Physical SIM was literally a last ditch effort when band locking, cell locking, moving it around didn't work. And Airtel themselves have proven unable to fix it for the past 10days now In your own case you just need another ODU sim the problem is with your current sim it has some sort of throttling applied by Airtel |

Abi is it generally tonight? And it's terrible here barely pass 5mbps |

saint2ace: Nice to hear the ZTE is back, but why do you consider it the younger brother? Secondly, which IDU is it paired with as i hear it supports wifi 7? Wifi 7 ke i don't think Airtel will ever give Wifi 7 Enabled router on top 50mbps and 100mbps max subscriptions 802.11be routers are so expensive |

Guys I don't know what to do again Then your sim has been throttled just wait till the sub expire and do another one |

enoch5553: I've done the swap. The person told me to wait till 7, o'clock before I put it in but I wanted to ask how long it usually takes. Also does switching to physical Sim deactivate the eSIM? No it doesn't but the swap render the esim useless |

enoch5553: Yeah my normal SIM works well with fast speed
But what do I do now? I heard that I can swap the eSIM to a normal SIM do I need to go to an Airtel Office or can I do it Roadside and the plans and bundles would carry over? Yes you can swap anywhere a friend did swapped yesterday and it was successful in less than an hour |
Phones › Re: Airtel Unlimited Data Thread! Best Data Plan In 2024!! by morikee: 1:18pm On Jan 24 |

But if the issue is the eSIM what can I do? You will have to do a sim swap to physical |
Phones › Re: Airtel Unlimited Data Thread! Best Data Plan In 2024!! by morikee: 9:34am On Jan 24 |
enoch5553: Yeah it has a sim slot but there's no SIM inside. Should I put in one of mine? Yes put on your normal Airtel sim with data test the ODU so that you can isolate if the fault is from the device |
