I woke up on friday morning August 8, 2014, to a news of puting salt in warm water, bathing with it and drinking from it as a prevention/cure for the dreaded, deadly disease EBOLA VIRUS. I did not get any BBM message of the news. Maybe because i dont frequent BBM or because most of my frnds know i will counter the information as usual. I only heard of it this morning when as early as 6:00am many people in my neighbourehood were saying it that salt can cure Ebola. I wondered in my heart as i lay on my bed. Was it the minister of health that anounced this? Turning on my radio, i heard a popular radio station here in Portharcourt encouraging people to do so nd even chew bitter kola as part of measures to curb the menace called Ebola. Almost everyone in my neighbourhood adhered to the rumoured instructions. Before 7:00am, mama Chizoba’s sachets of salt had already finished. Jane my closest neighbour, added two sachets of salt to her warm water this morning to bath promising to buy salt in larger quantity when she comes back from school. This is what you get in a country where the literacy level is low,(by literacy level i don’t mean certificates because many carry it around here but with little or nothing in terms of real knowledge) where people are helpless in this type of situation, where the government has no answer to virtually any issue that affects the masses. A country where a radio station will support a rumour that was puportedly spread by some group of young girls who joke with everything thinking its their normal ”runs girl s” life. A country where its students attend high school and university to cram. A country where people claim to belive in God but panic at every slightest thing that look new nd a puzzle to them. A country where the Government has failed to equip the hospitals or fund medical researches and get prepared for future occurences like this. But Mostly, i blame the people themselves especially the youths who don’t verify issues before acting on it. People that will not question some news they hear or ask for the reliability of such news before making use of it. Citizens who don’t seek to expand their knowledge base by themselves but prefer to keep their brain idle. people who swallow what one man who calls himself ”MOG” tells them without consulting the real book that guide such religion, people who keep quiet and shout God help us when therir house is on fire, people who make excuse for their leaders as to why they under perform. This is a wake up call to the people themselves to fashion out ways to make our country work. To sit down and question themselves on so many National issues and read wide to understand what they don’t know before. As one of my philosopher friend said, ”our body is already made up of salt so how then does salt cure Ebola”. Too much salt intake also is unhealthy to the body. Our land need seious re-orientation and i implore those who are ahead of others intelectually and understands issues better to enlighten those around them its hard i know but please try. Panic not my people Ebola will come and go. MORNDEW. Princewill Chimereze Student, Writter, public Affairs Analyst, Facilitator and Social Commentator. Source: www.enlightennigeriablog. |
But there is a thread for this purpose that has been reporting nd even has concrete facts about this election. Y was it ignored and dis one moved to front page am bitter with Nairaland. There is no fairness, thing dat will help enlighten our ppl are isolated nd killed while things dat wont add to our lives are encouraged. Internet is not all about traffic. |
seguntijan: I really don’t care about anything you say about me. If u like call me a religion fanatic, zealot, extremist, chauvinist or perhaps an unbeliever, that would still not stop me from saying this BITTER-TRUTH… While the Imo state government has put ban on handshakes, Kano and Kwara state governments have made it compulsory to present death certificate before any corpse can be allowed into their states and South-West Governors are making moves to block illegal borders just to checkmate the fast spreading of the dreaded Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) … And then, the Redeem Christians Church of God (RCCG) today’s convention would still hold!!!... What a mad house (country)!thanks my frnd. Minds like u ar rare. In a country where ppl are so ignorant nd gullible. |
I pity the Op nd some of u who hav commented like ppl who reason from their a.nus. One day u will giv account of wht u gained from all dis nonsese. |
argon500: You should have titles it" Osun state: Before it is too late.. Nice write up thoughthanks man. The write up did not only centre on the decision of the people to vote on saturday. Thanks again. |
Pls frnds i ve been hearing of facebook fanpage. Wht is it all about nd how can i get one. |
PaulJohn1: May be before 2015 election, it's late for the one at hand.ok |
PaulJohn1: U mean I should go and talk to thousands of croud?! Lol. Even with armed police that are not just carying the normal AKs we're used to. Naa, no way.No oo. I mean u shud enlighten ur neighbours nd d ppl u com in contact with daily abt d dangers of all dis. Tanx. Cheers. |
Ogbonnagba: You just have to fashion a niche which you are good in and kick off. though you are required to have some money which will be used to register for your domain name and web hosting that is if you want to host your blog. Though you can still make some money online without being a blogger, the choice is yours....how do u make money online i like to know. |
Op i hv a very young blog hosted by wordpress. Can i use chikita u mentioned o ur blog. Will it be approved. |
agitator: Tremendous decision?wht does all that yrs u typed there represent? It is a tremendous one take it or u leav it. Dont let hatred becloud ur sense of judgement. |
PaulJohn1: As I type this, cash is being shared at Technical school field and also at freedom park here is Osogbo. The cash sharing process is also being monitored by our federal police from FCT, with two of their choppers boldly written "POLICE". No doubt it's from politicians in Aso Rock, probably out of the alleged missing $20bn.too bad. Pls u can do d best u can to enlighten d ppl around u abt d dangers of dis i know its hard to convince ppl without ommon sense bt pls do dis just for your own contribution to National development. |
eaglechild: Talk about swallowing one's vomitus.must you type nonsense instead of u to hail a tremendous decision u ar here showing how limited ur reasoning is. |
HAH: Mumu, is Adamawa we are talking of not Borno if you don't know what is Adamawa political dynamics then shut up and listen because am from that axistyping Bornu was a mistake. Nd i can bet all i hv dat d rubbish u posted above is not frm CAN, and dat Ngilari being Governor is nt d ppl demselves dat will vote in 2015. U can claim u ar frm dat axis which only u know nd i dnt kia but d nonsense analysis u gave earlier is false, misleading and an indictment on a Christian body which i know dey will deny nd condemn if dey get to know dis. |
ShehuAba: MORNDEW YOU ARE WELCOMED HERE TOO TO MAKE YOUR CONTRIBUTIONS.thanks Shehubaba. Am not from Osun State bt am religiously following this election as a core nd true Nigerian.
