Oshoala and Macleans dey bench, you dey bring in Ify. This is not a personal something or whatever. grin grin

1. Ify has not been in great form

2. She is slow whereas we need fast attackers

3. She is barely fit.

But I'm happy with this Cala deal sha. He seems ready made for this team.
Make the guy no flop because the hype already attract many eyes o. Right now, he is in banter competition with Alenileyin and that Chelsea guy, Veiga.

Hmmm... I have better idea. Make every player in our team give their wife belle. In a year's time, we will just invite Messi to come and do baptism for them. 25 players will give 25 babies. There is going to be about 6 girls. 25 - 6 = 19. That is a full team with substitution.

It is because of that lungs I believe she's the most suited to play that WB role. And no she isn't out biggest threat upfront. She's has no goal or assist for the team in 2 years. I stand corrected but I think the last time she scored a goal for the falcons was at the 2022 WAFCON (Kindly correct me if I'm wrong cause I'm taking this off the top of my head). How is she then the biggest threat upfront? Of course she helps the team offensively but your assertion is again not backed by facts.

Cc: Deltamani
Just because of her lung? Chai
Playing as a wingback is more than just running up and down bro. A lot of tactical stuff is involved. Do you think Frimpong scored that much just by running around? I still insist 2 weeks is not enough to perfect that WB position and all that comes with it. It takes a lot of drilling and practices.

Safety is always paramount. The stadium had to be evacuated and all fans kicked off before the game was restarted. I don't think evicting the fans from the stadium would be something easy to do especially when tempers were already flaring.
Well, you made a nice point.

The system is literally the 3-5-2 system. Also Alozie is literally playing somewhat the same role from being an attacker. Toni Payne and Ajibade has played this role before so yes we can "wake up" to play the role and I don't get why you're making it seem like something novel.

They've been in camp for 2 weeks so if that is something Randy considers they would have worked on it. Again this is an hypothetical conversation so it's not like it's going to happen.
I think you should just read more on the whole tactic and formation stuffs. You will understand better.

Calafiori deal done and dusted. Just medicals remains which he's to do in USA then he'll join up with the squad.

Intensively watched his clips and I can see that he's really Arteta kind of player— like the perfect kind. I just hope in transcends the expectations into reality.

And if he really does, then our defence will become more tighter and creative than it's actually is.

Welcome Calafiori!!

See our defence na cheesy cheesy
I can't even remember the last time a transfer excites me. Maybe Sanchez and Ozil. This one don drag too long sotey I don't even care again. Welcome to him sha.

Bashirat Amoo is currently based in Uzbekistan

There are younger CDM like Chinyere Kalu, Yina Adoo can also play as a deep lying Midfielder, she’s very sound with the ball.. We have good qualities coming up in all Midfield areas.. The Wingers are the major setback right now..
Chai.. why Uzbekistan? As for the upcoming ones, we will be watching them closely.

Nigeria's biggest challenge going into this competition is our attack. We've sadly lost our attacking edge the last 2 years or so. We've largely improved defensively but we are still struggling to score goals.

Are we likely to turn the corner at this Olympics competition? Time will tell.
The last time I mentioned this in an argument, you disagreed.
Anyway, they better bring their scoring boots and most importantly, be bràve.

Not sure what exactly you're arguing. You guys seem to not understand that the role a WB plays differs from system to system and Ajibade playing that role won't limit her attacking responsibilities in anyway. It will be more like her attacking from the wings like she normally does but drops back to help the defense. Jeremie Frimpong played this exact role for Leverkusen last season and scored 14 goals and 10 assists. Trent Alexander Arnold literally controls Liverpool's offense despite playing the role. If they can do this, why can't Ajibade?

Again, all of these deliberations is because we lack the required personnel to fit this role. All of our suggestions are just that, suggestions. We are just trying to make the best out of the situation.
Ok, the question is do we have the systems you cited here in place? Do you know the amount of work the coaches of these clubs you mentioned put in, behind the scene? You can't just wake up and play a particular player at LWB.

Another question is if you ever consider the calibre of oppositions we are playing. We're playing Spain and Brazil o in case you forgot.

After these Olympics, FIFA and IFAB should take a look at protocols for suspending a match due to crowd trouble. I think suspending the game for 1hr 30 minutes was ridiculous.
Yea... They need to revisit that rule and adjust the time frame.

I’m still wondering where the Agenda of playing Ajibade at Wingback is coming from seriously cause I also saw it on Twitter…!

If we have had two Ajibade in the team I would have been more confident than this, like Uchenna Kanu isn’t giving us what we expected… If we go by history she burst into the scene before Rash and the potentials was everywhere, now it seems as she’s going maturer her performance are deteriorating. Kanu that you will hardly differentiate between her Right or Left foot in the past which is the strongest? Kanu that was scoring free-kicks back to back while @ College.! She’s no longer as quick as she was, she was next to Franny after Oshoala back then. Her Growth really need to be questioned.

Look at Perpetual Nkwocha, Stella Mbachu, Vera Okolo, Cynthia Uwak etc they all performed at top level consistently till their 30+.

The likes of Ajakaye really need to step up, the modern game needs a lot of pace from the wingers and I can’t see any U20 right now giving us that vibe.!
If one of Nicole and Alozie can't play at LWB, I will rather play Tony Payne there or change the entire formation. Ajibade at WB is a no for me.

I think we should be able to get some from these sets of U17s and U20s.

Please where is Bashira Amoo? I think she partnered Deborah in midfield then.

Like bro... 15 minutes is still ok but a whole 2 hours after a match? What stopped the ref from checking the goal immediately? Let's assume the match was a final an Argentina already won via penalties, that means they would be called back to return the trophy. grin

You sef see am. To think there is a certain Tony Payne available. Rofiat Imuran's injury really came at the wrong time. She would have been perfect for the LWB.

If that's what you read from there then that's okay. What's amusing is you make it sound like this is new when there's literally historicity to reference and Ajibade herself has played this role in the past.

Victor moses just like Ajibade was a forward but played this role in Chelsea. Trent Alexander Arnold plays this role in Liverpool. Jeremie Frimpong plays this role at Leverkusen. Even Alozie our RB plays this role. So I don't get what the fuss is about.
I'm not arguing with you now. I said it is ok. We may even play Oshoala as wingback sef. Since Vicmo, Moses Simon and Frimpong have played there before.

When defending, the WBs will became the FBs and that's where you said we should play Ajibade. Ok sir.

She's not. Again this is a role Ajibade has played before. I am not suggesting something that is novel. The role is simply he playing as LW but supporting the defense. She's simply playing upfront from the left then dropping deep when necessary to help the defense. She also won't be doing a lot of this if Uchiebe and Debbie do their job right. Also she's one of the few players with enough gas to play this role.

We won't miss Ajibade in attack. Have you forgotten there was a time when she was literally limited to the midfield? We have Kanu, Onumonu etc who can do the job offensively. It's also important to reiterate that the role she'll play in the formation doesn't take away her offensive responsibilities.
So basically, you want Ajibade at FB? Issokay

I didn't miss it, the discourse however is about how to beat use what we have on ground hence my comments.

And no, Alozie on the left is another disaster waiting to happen. We have the benefit of hindsight cause we literally tried this at the world cup against England. She was moved to the left and we instantly became a shadow of ourselves. She even missed a chance because the ball was on her weak foot. This is why I believe Randy hasn't tried it again since then.

I would have gone for Gift Monday since she's played that role already at her club but she's an alternate and not a member of the team. The next best person suited for that role in the team is Ajibade. We also won't miss Ajibade like that upfront cause we have other persons who can play that role. Also th formation allows her the leverage to advance upfront to help the attack.
Thank God you suggest Gift Monday. She is also another player that can play there. But your coach know better.

Ajibade at LWB is a mismatch please. I would like you to suggest who you think can replace her upfront.

Arsenal are almost at the red zone as far as FFP is concerned. Last summer, they splashed 105m and 65m on Rice and Havertz respectively. With other areas they are looking to improve, you still want them to splash another 100m on Osimhen. Fabrizio Romano ibile.
