forgiveness: What about Fofan, Tiago & Colwill? Injury has been the major problem. Stop talking about quantity.
Do you mean Reece and Chilwell are quantity? how many RB and LB better pass dem for this world not to talk of EPL?
This one don forget we have Lavia, Chukwuemeka and Cesare Casadei (the winner of 2023 u20 golden ball and golden boat).
How many team has Caicedo and Enzo type of player in their team or can afford to leave dem out of the team?
Can Mancity play without Bruyne and Rodri? Can Arsenal play without Rice?
Do you mean Nkuku and Palmer are no quality?
You no know anything about Chelsea.
When last were those players you mentioned available? Half of those you mentioned are injury proned. How many matches has Lavia, Nkunku, Fofana and Reece played this season? Nothing dey that your team oga.
forgiveness: You're not a Chelsea fan so you don't know the problem. Problem is lack of prolific striker. EOD
Those Aba boys (Badiashile and Disasi) you pack for defence ain't a big problem right? That your squad too rough. You have quantity but not quality. Remove Caicedo and Enzo and your midfield would be exposed. On the wing sef, only Sterling is the real quality. Forget bro, you need more than a Striker o
ChrisKels: I would pick this boy ahead of Paul Onuachu.
The thing is Paul Onuachu doesn't have a guaranteed spot in the team. As of now, the strikers in conversation are Osimhen, Awoniyi, Boniface. Outside those, we have Moffi, Sadiq, Akor and Orban. The competition choke.
MetalJigsaw: That is not the case bro, you don't get it.
Iwobi does not mark! And Playing you "off position" doesn't mean you should be a minus- one when your team is defending.
I strongly believe that if he was subbed off when we were still leading, we wouldn't have lost that game. We would have either held on or penalty shootout decides the winner.
You all need to come up with the full meaning of this 'marking' that has been going on for sometimes now on this thread. Iwobi does not mark yet we always concede goals anytime he is removed. Yea, he was not up to par against RSA and CIV so also are the other players on the field. But you all used the tired excuse for the others but not for Iwobi. SMH.
As for your last paragraph, I guess he was the one who caused that winning goal right?
Spy360: We will be fine, but have you asked yourself why Arteta will always play White and Kai? That's because they make the game easier for others.
Meanwhile that I said they are cerebral players does not necessarily interpret to mean that they are the brain of the team. I have also stated that some players I consider physical or technical may be more cerebral than some considered as cerebral. For example, you may be a carpenter and I a mechanic. But you may know the mechanic work more than myself.
The keyboardist in the band may be a better drummer than the drummer himself. But the reason why he is in the band is to play the keyboard and not the drum. I used to be part of a musical band where one guy knows all the instruments more than every other person playing whatever. He is the pianist but is better than the bassist, better than the drummer, better than the lead guitarist etc.
So when I say White is cerebral it does not necessarily mean that he is more cerebral than Rice for example even though by my assessment he actually is.
Let's compare Rice, Partey and Jorginho (the highest gets max points as the standard guage)
On physicality Rice 10, Partey 7 Jorginho 3
On technicality Partey 10 Rice 8 Jorginho 5
On intelligence (cerebral) Jorginho 10 Partey 7 Rice 7
From here you will see that Rice and Partey are more balanced in their skillset than Jorginho but if you need a cerebral player you call on Jorginho.
Have you noticed that Arteta always uses Jorginho against big teams like Man City or Liverpool where his brain is needed more?
You clearly said they're the brain of the team sir.
All you typed here are still postulations without proof.
Jodera: One needs to be very strong for Haaland not to successfully body such person. If you see how Saliba bodied Haaland in our 1-0 win with the latter falling, you'll know say no be anyhow person Saliba be.
Na only two people I'm sure Haaland no fit do that nonsense. Van Dijk and Saliba
You know the funniest thing, Saliba doesn't like gym. One of his teammates said it in an interview. He said Saliba doesn't lift too much weight. I think Gabriel and Rice are the one who lift the biggest weight.
VVD no fit handle Haaland. I was even expecting you to mention Konate. No be small Martinelli bullied VVD.
iamoyindamola: I was watching epl compilation videos of haaland It always a disaster for defenders to go shoulder to shoulder when on one on one Even our own gabu collect last season, but guess what The only defender that have succeeded is our rolls royce 2 times this season but not without a big fight IMO the best way to handle such beast like haaland is to take him down to avoid one on one situation He's like a viking or dorkati warrior Very dominance
That's why I fear him. Man is a bully not a footballer. I wonder what his diet looks like. Saliba really tried eh... He tamed him in that match.
Spy360: What then are their attributes and how will you classfy them?
Both maybe under physical or technical. But Cerebral? No. They're not the brain of the team as you claimed. Replace them with Tomiyasu and Jesus and we will still be fine. Those are not the kind of players you termed as cerebral.
codemaniacs: Chukwueze is the one that headed the corner kick cross towards Ekong that Ekong scored which means Chukwueze made an assist and that makes him go free..
if iwobi had made an assist or tried to press opponents and make tackles he may have gone free but he stood still and was ball watching while the people around him were closing down opponents, pressing and making tackles..
point is, iwobi probably had the most un-used energy and stamina in that final and he did not use it.
in summary, iwobi played as if he was bribed not to press and tackle players but people only noticed in that match because more people watched the final but in previous matches iwobi was also doing the same thing of not pressing and tackling players..
all iwobi does is to pass to Sanusi or Simon who then runs with the ball on the LW and then crosses when in reality its iwobi that's meant to run with the ball and make through passes to Osimhen..
In this AFCON, Onyeka was the AM, CAM, CM and DM.. I don't know what iwobi did apart from pass to Zaidu or Simon.. I know he took some shots...
he was poor at this AFCON.
Hopefully when he gets to Fulham he starts running around and pressing again...
Spy360: Lol. I think you didn't understand my analysis in what I posted. You should be asking questions and not trying to argue, it an analysis OK.
Now first look at the players as individuals first before looking at their roles.
What are their attributes?
Then tell us why you would consider Gabriel, Zinchenko, Martinelli and Saka as cerebral players? Why?
No need for unnecessary drags. You mentioning White and Kai as cerebral players is what I'm arguing against. The explanation of cerebral you put up there doesn't correlate with their attributes.
You ask yourself, what's special about this player. Is it his physical attribute or his technical or his brains.
Saying that White and Havertz are cerebral players does not suggest that they are the best. That's is just what makes them unique.
Ordinary the best player should have a high dose of all three skillsets and not just major on one. For example, Saka has a lot of pace and stamina, he can also dribble and curl the ball, but he is also very good with his brains in his spacial awareness and movements.
Saka, Odegaard and Rice have the best combination at the club.
Havertz is more of physical player though. He is being used as a target man at times. He understands the art of movement and spaces. But the fact that he can't dictate the tempo of the game on his own, rules him out of being classified as a cerebral player.
Spy360: No the video was referenced to show that some players especially Havertz and Jorginho are cerebral players. I guess you and Jodera missed the first few seconds where he points to his head saying that Havertz is full of brains.
What that analysis aimed at is that it was our cerebral players that made the difference against Liverpool otherwise that game was a balanced draw.
Ok.. Let's check your examples. You classified Kai as the brain of the team and Jesus as the 'hand'. Meanwhile, both actually does the same thing and play the same role.
You mentioned White as a cerebral player but he had nothing to do with all the goals that was analysed in that video.
Infact, going by your last paragraph, Gabriel, Martinelli, Zinchenko and Saka should be classified as cerebral players. You can see where you're contradicting yourself now.
Me i just felt like he rushed Auba into it. Someone is used to a system for decade of his career approaching 30 and you want to now change his OT of attacking just like that. Not that he was not scoring o. Golden boot too o.
The grace he's giving Kai, he never gave Auba. The ish is no one can determine the depth of a fall off with a manager. That's where Auba really messed up.
They don't suit style, yet ya forcing figs to turn apples?? Haba.
There is really no need to discredit the manager with all this Kai slander. Fact is Auba was never serious. Like he lost interest in everything we were doing. How many months did it take the like of Xhaka, Saka and even Martinelli to adapt? Auba was not the only one... Pepe and even Sambi failed to adapt. That your second paragraph no follow abeg.
Jodera: Actually, I knew he formed all those things from his head especially with those accompanying examples but I just wanted to give him benefits of doubt to prove me wrong.
Him no disappoint at all
But I won't deny that there is an iota of truth in what he said. Though the way he classified them and his examples may be debatable. Spy na one of a kind.
Gary Neville in March 2023: "I wouldn't be spending £110m or £120m on Declan Rice if I was Manchester United this summer. I would spend £50m-£60m on Declan Rice, but I wouldn't spend the figures being reported because I feel in that position, I still feel like he's got a lot to grow." [@GNev2 via @centredevils]
Spy360: I have no issues if you don't accept my idea. I can also say that you were unable to refute them.
You always ask for references but when you see them you turn around again to deny them or reject them.
The YouTube video below is fourfourtwo (I don't know if you're conversant with the magazine, but they have a strong reputation with Arsenal FC). It's a short video analysing our game with Liverpool. Listen carefully.
Excellent analysis. That Liverpool game was one of Arteta's best from tactical POV. However, TBH, this video didn't categorically states who is cerebral, who is cerebellum and who is medulla oblongata. It is just a match analysis.
28-year-old Carlos Cuesta could be tempted by an opportunity to take his first senior role, but is only likely to consider an approach when the season is completed. Several other Championship sides are also thought to have shown an interest in Cuesta taking over in the summer, although Arsenal are believed to be determined to resist any approaches.
