Apparently Gabriel Jesus is dropped today due to him not following Arteta’s instructions on positional play. Mainly "staying" between the posts during final third pressure. #arsenalfanaticsnews |

Kiwior... Fingers crossed. Seems Zinny is injured Yeah...he has a little issue with his calf. |

There are people who spent years getting a degree in stats and there are people who are professors of statistics and data analysis. So if you think stats are misleading then good for you. Happy New Year in Advance. Ever heard of margin of error? You need to sit down with these Professors and table this matter before them. Giroud hardly scores hatricks that's why Jodera thinks he is average. I have provided their G/G and yet we are still arguing about nothing. For context, Giroud has won more titles and accolades than RvP. But let's leave that story for another day. Lol You don dey turn amala o spy. So it is not based on stats again. You have brought the number of hattrick and titles. You dey Facebook? I would want you to sort other people's opinion concerning this matter. Don't worry, Havertz will play today you will see difference. We lost because we didn't take our chances. No be today we Don dey break down teams with low block. Havertz could have given us height up top no doubt. He would have at least scored from those headers Jesus was missing. |

In 5matches, Striker A did not score in the first four but scored a hatrick in the fifth. Striker B ensured he scored one goal in each of the 5 matches. Striker B has a better goals per game ratio. But people will think striker A is a better player than B because of the 3goals they saw in one match. Mumu fans Gbam! You just summarized everything. Using this your context, Giroud is the striker A here while VPersie is striker B. I'm glad you can see how a flash in the pan performance can hide a lot of inconsistencies. |

If I say I spend millions daily for example, and you doubt it. Then I bring facts to prove it, like a bank statement, you should accept the facts as long as you don't have any counter evidence, even if you still don't believe. That's my problem with Jodera. After going to viewing centre to hear beer parlour analysis he will come here to argue with no evidence. Does your bank statement shows what exactly you spent the money on? Does your bank statement shows is na #500 or #1000 you dey spend? |

I have brought up titles you say they are rubbish. I then brought stats you call them mini skirts. Oga bring whatever you used to determine that Giroud is average or remain silent. Talk is cheap.
Meanwhile I'll like to see the goals per minute ratio your talked about. Don't run. You remember that year Leceister won the league. Remember Giroud went almost 15 games without scoring. That is one proof. Jones was crawling and still got to the ball ahead of Giroud that was running. That is another proof. |

It's funny because it is similar to you accusing Hausa for saying that Saka and Martinelli are average. There is no difference then between the both of you. Bro... Stats can be quite misleading. Remember Mustafi had better stat than VVD that year. Now pray tell...who would you have rather have in your team between both? Statistically, Havertz has been better than Xhaka this season yet many would still go for Xhaka when it comes down to choosing between the two. Everything no be by stat bro. |

Hausa: I'm not suggesting anything. I don't do such things. Let the Management go and do the suggestion themselves. They have the base, finance and the lookout to do these things.
Some years ago I mentioned that if we want to be BIG, we need to look at what our BIG opponents are doing. I saw Mane and Salah on the wings of Liverpool, and saw Sterling and Mahrez (and Bernado Silva) on the wings of City. People felt I was being ridiculous. Years later, they've gone on to win things and moved on. We're still basking on the FaCup Aubameyang helped us win.
But I don't want to sound like a kill joy. We dey this thing together. If you can't suggest, why criticize the ones we have? Salah was a journeyman until that famous Basel match. Mane started small at Southampton. Both clicked under Klopp. They were not ready-made neither did they fell from the sky. Sterling at Liverpool was so wasteful and reckless. Until Leceister won that league, who knew Mahrez? The players you mentioned above have once passed through the phase Saka and Martinelli (whom you're criticizing) are currently passing through but their coaches didn't ditch them because they're neither models nor are they following Kim Kardashian. |

Jodera: True... But he do move central sometimes.
I think Tomi would have helped out. Last season, White was good in overlapping runs. I dunno whether it's injury but White this season just seems off.
Something is just not right I think it is the system. White is part of the '3' in our 3-2-5 formation. Overlapping means he would be exposing our defence to counterattack. I think that's why he is wary of bombing forward. |

@Hausa I hope you know the models you are clamouring for started somewhere. Your so called models didn't automatically became models. They grew and develop through different situations. Infact, Saka himself is a model judging by his personal laurels so far. You said these set of attackers can't win us trophy, I partially agree because I myself believe we need a good striker as an icing on the cake. But I want you to remember that Saka, Martinelli and Ode were part of the team that almost won the league last season if not for poor squad depth and injury. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by mostob(m): 2:09pm On Dec 29, 2023 |
Jodera: I see people talking how Odegaard should be more central instead of going to the wings and always hiding behind Saka.
The thing is, according to our formation, this has always been his game even right from last 2 seasons. No be today e start. We've always been playing 433 symmetrical. Tomi/white —Odegaard— Saka trident on one side while Tierney/Zinny — Xhaka — Martinelli trident on the other side(reason I always call it RHS and LHS respectively). DM and striker acts as the link to the build up to such trident or the link to the passage of one trident to another.
So with this, we can see that Odegaard acts as RAM/RCM, while Xhaka acted as an LAM/LCM. So with this, it's the duty of Odegaard to always feed Saka and have an understanding with him, same way it's for Xhaka (and presently Havertz) to always feed Martinelli and have an understanding with him (as well as the FBs too). On occasions tho, They'll tilt towards the middle to retrieve ballbut that's how far they can go. And the aim is to do that in order to win the ball or build up straight to their assigned attackers (except on few occasions the opposite attacker is free and a cross field pass is necessary). Rarely will you see Odegaard or Xhaka switch wing. This positioning Is called Juego de posicion and that's what Arteta system plays.
It's the reason why I want Havertz to be up and doing in his creativity task cos leaving everything creativity on Odegaard/Saka wing is too much. It'll be like a person walking on one leg. Obviously the person would walk but it'll be with difficulty, pressure and imbalance. And that's what's happening to this team.
Until our LHS gets it right, our RHS will continue to suffer. Saka have been trying very well, but he's no Messi. If he doesn't gets help and distraction, we might keep on complaining and complaining!!! Well understood. That he should move central doesn't mean he should stay central throughout the whole match. You do know that by staying frequently on the wing, he is limiting Saka's space. |
