Jodera: lol... The Saliba situation was to go out on loan. Since he didn't get it, I'm not sure there's anybody he would have substituted in that our squad He could have take the place of one of the 5 GKs. Two of them are now on loan anyway. He might replace Mustafi in January sha. |

If they weren't on loan, they wouldn't still have been registered cos they're not homegrown Yea. .that is one hell of an unfortunate situation. But the Saliba exclusion eh. .i no understand o. |

As for playing more youths, is there no budding talent in the youth setup like saka of last year ni? lol. .willock is deceptively strong o. Any talent? Shebi it is Nelson and co they are using for U23. |

Jodera: It's good you admit ozil is an Am, and we need Am badly, and that ozil is also good too. So at least you get my point.
My issue why I'm ranting is because ozil is still an arsenal player and fit to play and the team needed him. You rarely see me make case Martinez or iwobi or Sanchez.. Why because they're no longer our player. But it's painful having a player and you can't use him cos of ego. Na my anger be that.
Anyways, like you said, let's move on... Yea. .let us move on. |

Fkhalifa: When a team sits deep it’s still very difficult to break them down with a good creative player on to be fair. What you need to do is run at defenders and make them have to make challenges, no defender in the world wants players running at them( Now who does this at Arsenal? Everyone on the attacking front bar Saka is bereft of idea or talented to use the ball well, their first instinct is to pass it to the left or back, hence the drab football) Add some give and go’s while running and you can create space and chances.
What we do is let a team sit deep and then we just move the ball side to side and put in the odd cross. Unless Fabregas is playing you aren’t going to find space for a through ball with 10 men behind the ball. Hence why we get the ball wide(slowly) and then just pass back and repeat...
BTW, Ozil's vision and pass will only work against teams leaving much space at the back. Gbam! I wholeheartedly agree. |

kokaneprodigy: That Ozil’s work rate under Arteta is low, he played almost if not all the games under Arteta prior to the COVID and a lot here attested to his improved work rate, using stats of 1 assist doesn’t tell the full story unless you just started watching football.
I still remember how guys were mad at Arteta for pulling out Ozil in the match against Chelsea, claiming pulling him out brought Chelsea back into the game. We eventually lost the match from a winning position.
Then COVID happened all of a sudden he doesn’t have work rate under Arteta. It’s a lie. Well, that is between the board and Ozil. Trust me, i wish he was included too. In fact, i was hopeful when arteta said he has given everybody a clean slate. But the moment the list was released, I was disappointed too when his name was not among. So, we move. |

kokaneprodigy: I’m not the type to criticize only when we lose I’m not L-Khalifa.
I mentioned it even when we were winning that we need an AM and DM going into the TW. I also mentioned we hardly dominate big teams even when we won and we’ll soon be found out.
I did same during Emery and I was asked to shut up that after all we are “grinding out result” we all saw how it ended.
I work with indices even in my personal life. I don’t wait for evil to befall before acting. I understand you bro. I can't deny seeing some of your posts here . Go to Facebook, justarsenal, arseblog. ..the way those fans were berating Arteta because of Ozil saga will make you think Ozil is messi+CR7 combination. So, my post was not meant to downgrade Ozil or directed to someone. |

Jodera: And you think the reason why arteta didn't include him is footballing reason? Don't make me laugh abeg!
And for now, ozil is the answer. Yes. Not the absolute answer but the answer for at least small small and decent teams. Aside work rate, he's the only one that has vision, can create chances and all. And he also improved his work rate under Arteta.
I won't lie, we need an Am and a playmaker and ozil is one. Perhaps if we had another, I wouldn't have clamoured for ozil the way I'm doing now Bro, i understand you but the question is how effective has he been since the last two years? And, if indeed Arteta needs him in his team, i want to believe he would have talk to the board about it. Ozil is good no doubt but let's move on. He has already been excluded so wetin again? But I won't deny we need an AM badly. |

Jodera: The thing is, I don't trust Nelson or pepe anymore. Especially the latter.
But your opinion of bringing youths is really commendable, at least, that's how we got to know saka and martinelli. I don't know why arteta doesn't trust his youths tho.
Why do you want willlock?? The reason I'm still clamouring for Nelson is because he has not really get a tangible game time. Just On and Off. And as for Willock, i think he will play the Laca role better. He is taller and his hold up play is better due to his physique. He has also shown to be a good goalscorer and his height is a good aerial weapon which means the FBs will get a target man to deliver crosses to. He is a midfielder so dropping deep won't be a problem for him. I'm not the coach, that is just my opinion. As for playing more youths, Donyel Malen was let go, he is currently leading the line for PSV. I heard Barca is monitoring him if they can't get Depay. There is also Jeff and Bennacer that were let go then. |

Jodera: If only iwobi was in arsenal, maybe I'll consider iwobi. But iwobi is gone, that's why I will not drag iwobi inside my talks. Ozil is an arsenal player, and he's not injured, and not that he's sold. So it's not out of place to talk about him.
For the others points you raised, I just want to believe you didn't watch ozil under Arteta. So no qualms! I have nothing against Ozil but the way some fans call for Ozil anytime we lose is just ridiculous. And I watch Ozil under Arteta, he did I play well but not that spectacular. There was a reason Arteta didn't include him in the squad. Do we need a playmaker? Yes Is Ozil the answer? Absolutely No |

kokaneprodigy: In your effort to make this about Ozil again you had to lie and compare Ozil with DMs and CMs.
You’ve mentioned Ozil in your single post more than any other moniker’s posts combined this morning. We are talking about AM no one is dwelling on Ozil. Take your advice and Come off this Ozil obsession Oga, can you pinpoint where I lied. And I didn't compare him with those players I mentioned. I was merely comparing the teams' set up.You need to realise the AM role is going into extinct. My post was directed to you Ozil fans that was why you could count many 'Ozils' there. And it is not as if his inclusion will guarantee 2 goals per match. SMH |

Arteta really needs to sit down and tweak his tactics and personnel. It is clear Laca and Nketiah are not performing to expectations but what of Balogun? He should integrate him into the team by giving him like 20 mins in Europa. ....and if he is adamant on his CF playing the Firmino role, i will recommend Willock for him. (don't abuse me o ,ask me why) Also, the ineffectiveness of our wing contribute to our attacking performance. He should move Auba to CF flanked by Nelson and Pepe...yes, Pepe. He need to play wingers that can dribble when needed, cross and also offer goal threats. Auba constantly drift to the CF and this creates workload on Pepe as he is the only true winger playing. |

Seriously, I'm sick of all these Ozil shalayes. Naija sentiment aside, Iwobi will offer more than Ozil can to this current team. let's look at city, Benardo, silva, KDB,Foden-these players don't just stay in midfield, they simply roam. Can Ozil do that? sometimes, you dont even know if they are playing as wingers. what of Liverpool? Can Ozil offers what Gini, Henderson, Milner offer. I'm talking about serious work rate here. The only way Ozil can be added to our Midfield is if there is a natural DM. somebody to babysit him and clear up his mess. And I doubt we have such player right now. Arsenal fans should forget Ozil. It is not that he was that brilliant gan. His performances were like a flash in the pan sometimes. Our lack of goals is due to how this team is set up not because of Ozil absence. |

Substitutes
13 R. Rúnarsson
15 Maitland-Niles
20 Mustafi
25 Elneny
28 Willock
19 Pepe
30 Nketiah
I'm not the type to nag but I would have prefer Nelson to Nketia.

You just checked livescores or somewhere else and you see that iwobi was subbed out at half time and that means he had a bad game
Iwobi had a better game than Calvert lewin and some few others despite only playing 45 minutes

Jodera: I won't say money miss road. How I view lampard is
1.. So far, he doesn't know how to improve players at his disposal.
2.. He has a plan, but how to effectively balance the defence and attack is what is missing. To be sincere, he's gotten the defence aspects now(Silva zouma combo and Mendy at goal). If he eventually fix the attack like last season, then I guess the rest of the teams should be afraid.
Mind you, most of the players are new to the league, so they need blending in. The goals they conceded this season are mostly individual error. And once that is cut out, then Chelsea will be formidable.
I'm not ruling lampard or that team out yet Agreed. You are spot on |
