Devdevdev:
You hardly see Nigerians teaching coding or talking about programming related stuff on on social media, especially on Youtube. This is because this is actually a legit way to be a successful person and it involves a lot of hard work, determination and consistence.

Nigerians only like to propagate get rich schemes and fraudulent stuff like plagiarizing books to post on Amazon or some rubbish Ponzi scheme. The common thread that links all these is that they don't involve much work and all you have to do is just do the little, then sit and wait for money to start pouring into your account. I admit there are a tiny minority of people who make money from these, but it's usually for a short period of time until it crashes or they get banned from Amazon, or get arrested, but the majority of people don't get shit, rather they jump from one get rich scheme to the other until they realize they've wasted their time.

Programming will never be saturated with competent programmers especially in this country because majority of people don't have the discipline and delligence to actually become competent programmers.
For the past month I've not been on social media. I deleted my Twitter, Facebook Tiktok, Instagram and vowed to never check status on WhatsApp because that's a very huge distraction. I only use Nairaland and Reddit, particularly for programming related information. I deleted every movie from my laptop and haven't watched TV for weeks.

How many people can do this? How many people can sit at a desk staring at a computer screen for 12+ hours everyday?

Nigerians are very lazy and are addicted to quick gratification and this works in the favor of programmers who are serious, because it reduces the competitiveness of the job market.

Family / Re: Please Help, I Am A Man But, I Behave Feminine! by motide(m): 7:05pm On Dec 24, 2017

JESUSBOIY:
I am a guy in my early 20s, a student.
Since my childhood, i have always had complains that i behave and act like a female. I can't jog,run or play soccer cos my friends will make fun of me and say i run like a girl.

i am quite shy/timid too and and i have long discovered that i don't have much physical strength, people have bullied me because of this.

Girls don't take me serious. Cos i don't possess a manly persona so i have never really been in their good books.

Please this is coming from a bleeding heart embarassed , I have tried as much as possible to be manly but, its like trying to grow tall overnight. I am tired of my family asking if i am gay. I stay mostly indoors, and i can't even hang out with my peers because of embarrassment.

I am not a believer, so don't tell me to pray. I am only pouring my heart out, i need help(advice)......

[b]note: i am a straight guy!

Hello my brother, You are a man and thank God you have a male reproductive organ to classify you as a man. What you need is to take some male hormonal drugs to make you develop more of the male characteristics, then you hit the gym and then make sure you have lots of male friends to shapen your behaviour and manly characteristics. I can refer you to a doctor who can help you by educating you more on your problem. Don't worry friend, its not a serious problem and i assure you that you will soon get over it. You can contact me privately through this email address darzles@gmail.com stay blessed.
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Unilever Future Leaders Programme 2017 by motide(m): 11:28am On May 19, 2017
Sunnystooth:
I got the call almost same time with the one I missed the other day (around 2:10pm) today.
The lady on the phone first asked me to confirm my age to her, I told her. She then said I should hold on for like a minute, which I did. When she came back on, she told me that my age is more than the required for the post. That the age limit was below 26years...(by the way, I am 28)...She said why did I apply and all that. I told her no age restriction was stated in the job advert. She then said when I was applying didn't I see the option bla bla bla... She then said she can't stop me now at this level, that she will send the Discovery centre invitation mail to me that I passed excellently well bla bla bla... But she said I might get kicked out at the final stage when my age comes into scrutiny.

They later sent a text message congratulating me again and an email containing my invitation details... The DC is 24th of May by the way.

But my headache now is that I dont know whether to take the risk and travel to Lagos for the DC when age might just be against me even if I succeed.

Any suggestions please?

I'm just tired about the whole thing sef.

@ sunnystooth, please what is the name of the person or the name of the team that sent you a discovery centre invitation mail? Hoping to get your reply or you can mail me at darzles@gmail.com thanks.
