We recently received an anonymous message
from a supposed Nigerian solider presently
among the troops battling the Boko Haram
insurgents. In this slightly edited message of despair, he
gives an insight on the why Nigerian soldiers may
not win the battle against the terrorists in North
East. It is time the pen pushers pick up their pens because
the corruption in the system. More to self and less
for National interest. Who is behind book haram? how come
helicopters will come to Nigeria airspace to supply
book haram equipment and nobody is saying
anything? People are dying every day. Money that
is supposed to be used for development we are
using it for war. Let those who love this nation pick up their pen, like the Journalists who fought
for our independence in the 60s. My eyes have seen a lot. We still need to pray for
Nigeria. All members of book haram use anti-aircraft to
fight. Let all who love Nigeria forget about
religion and put National interest first. If you are in the field you will cry because the
more you see the less you understand this battle. Things will come to light if my ogas ontop tell the
truth. Everybody is after money. A day after sallah we took over Bazza, our own
Airforce refuse to come for support and our
commanding officer Lt Col Jones Emem called
them but they did not come until this helicopters
came to drop snappers and weapons for
Bokoharam. Who is behind them? Why the army still using unserviceable equipment is when we
were told new equipment were bought to fight
insurgent. When you come to the field you will see the
soldiers doing their best, but no support
weapons. How do expect somebody with A47 to
face somebody with anti-aircraft. All our soldiers presently shot. Some of them are
in 44 military hospital Kaduna. Find out they were
shot on the hand and legs with the snappers
guns. Those APCs they claim they bought are old ones
painted in Jaji APC wing. We need more
investigative Journalists to investigate this war
and the equipment use.

Former F.C.T Minister, Mallam Nasir El-
RufaI, who recently joined the Kaduna
governorship race on the platform of the
All Progressives Congress, APC has
accused the federal government of
planing to impeach, Aminu Tambuwal, speaker of the Federal house of
representatives. Former minister of Federal Capital Territory
and Deputy National Secretary of the All
Progressives Congress (APC), Mallam Nasir
El-Rufai, said the withdrawal of the
security details attached to Speaker of the
House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal, was a plot by the Federal
Government to eliminate him.
The former minister, who accused
President Goodluck Jonathan of
masterminding the removal of Tambuwal
security aides, alleged that the Speaker was one of the targets of snipers being
purportedly groomed by the President.
Disclosing this to newsmen shortly after
picking his expression of interest and
nomination forms as the APC
governorship aspirant in Kaduna State on Friday, the former minister, insisted that
the Speaker was one of the targets of the
killer squad, declaring, “that was why the
Inspector-General of Police on the order of
President Jonathan withdrew the Speaker
security aides.”

Parents of the 219 Chibok girls being held
captive by the Boko Haram sect have expressed
shocked at the new claims made by the leader
of the group, Abubakar Shekau. It was reported today, that Abubakar Shekau, the leader of the dreaded Boko Haram sect, in a new
video obtained by AFP claims the girls have been
married off and will not return to their families. Contrary to the reports that the Federal Government had reached an ceasefire agreement
with the sect over the release of the school girls, Abubakar
Shekau has denied the claims and possible peace
talks. The head of the Chibok Elders Forum, Pogo Bitrus,
whose four nieces are among the abducted girls
told AFP saying: “It (the claim about marriage) is
shocking to us, although we know that Boko
Haram is not a reliable group. “We were sceptical about the talks to release our
girls and we never took the ceasefire seriously
because since the announcement, they have
never stopped attacking communities. ”
“Therefore the information that our girls have
been married off is not surprising to us. “We are
only hoping the government will step up
whatever efforts it is making to quell the
insurgency”. A Pastor, Enoch Mark, whose two daughters, 20- year-old Monica Enoch and 18-year-old Sarah
Samuel, 18 are among the hostages said the
families were helpless and “lost for words” as
they keep getting conflicting information about
the situation of the girls.
Pastor Enoch mark said: “Only God knows the
number of girls kidnapped by Boko Haram. “We
only keep hoping that they will be returned to us
and if they are not we take solace in God.” Yesterday, October 31, it was reported that the Boko Haram sect may free the abducted
schoolgirls the same day, following positive talks. However, the report has just turned out to be one
of the many that has dashed the hope of the
families of the Chibok girls. On October 17, it was reported that the Federal Government’s announced that it has reached a
cease fire deal with the Boko Haram to secure the release of the over 200 abducted
Chibok girls.
