HealthRe: Lady Calls Out Igando General Hospital Doctor That Refused Treating Her Nephew by Mr4tunate:
I lost a close cousin due to what I think was medical negligence last week and oh, I'm a medical doctor too. So in all fairness, I think I'm a balanced person to comment on this
There's no doubt there are doctors who neglect their duties, in my cousin's case, I had to call the doctor on duty severally just for him to come do his job. In fact, more than on 3 occasions I've had to collect my cousin's blood samples myself( I work in the same hospital where he was admitted) cuz the doctor(s) treating him simply didn't do it despite having contacted them severally
My cousin died less than 48 hours after discharge from the hospital, so I can say it boldly he wasn't stable b4 discharge. Yes, there are doctors like that everywhere but truth be told, they're extremely few in number
What we experience in Nigeria is a total system failure
Before coming back to that woman, let me use where I work as an example. Many healthworkers( doctors, nurses, health assistants etc) in that hospital have never been paid ever since they've started working ( they're being owed 3-5 months salaries), some of this guys don't originally live in that state of employment and have had to make financial commitments towards their settling down in their new environment, they've had to eat and transport themselves to work for the duration of that gruelling financial constraints, yet they're expected to work and smile nicely? No, they won't, you'll see apathy written all over most of them. Just imagine yourself unconscious on the operating table of a doctor thinking about how to pay his rent or wards school fees, u see how you're rejecting it by fire by thunder? That's cuz u know that patient is extremely unlikely to wake up. I know this, cuz I'm one of the owed doctors. Believe me, u don't want to do this job of saving lives while barely living yourself without getting renumerated

Most delays u experience at times have nothing to do with doctors and nurses, this is another fact. Imagine 2 thousand patients visiting a hospital and their folders are to b sorted by 2 pple, iono what u think, to me that makes no sense, it's a total system failure that is no fault of any healthworker

And you see ehn! When I see people say doctors swore an oath, I just laugh.

Please what oath exactly?
Can u highlight what the contents of that oath means?
Do u know anything about the implications of each of its lines?
And do u know that the original funny oath u know has been abandoned by almost all developed countries and that Nigeria has long followed suite?

Do u know why it was abandoned?
Do u know that even the supposed new oath underwent modifications less than 2 years ago and it now adequately protect the doctor and gives him some rights?
Do u know why those modifications were necessary?

Well maybe u do, maybe u don't. In all honesty it doesn't matter. What matters is that the doctor, just like you is a human being and what he's dealing with, unlike you, is LIFE. He needs as much a clarity of mind as possible to do his job well and u talking to him disrespectfully, not to even mention outrightly insulting him, will take away that clarity. So in ur own best interest, until u have gotten another doctor to attend to you or your relatives, please don't talk trash to the one supposed to attend to you
And Yes! Patients' relatives are terrible to deal with at times. If u lack manners of confabulations and home training, please leave it at the hospital gate. You have a right to think about ur sick relative as much as the doctor does, otherwise,, it's only a matter of time b4 a doctor puts off his white coat to let unleash the community acquired madness of a typical Nigerian that resides under that coat.
In as much as the doctor swore an oath to protect lives, that oath didn't mandate him to protect all lives cuz even if he wants to, he simply can't play God. And that same oath has now CATEGORICALLY allowed him to neglect you/ your relatives u if act rude to him. All he needs do is add ur name or that of ur relatives to those he can't save.
And please before u ever in ur life insult any Nigerian doctor again, try read about Nigerian doctors in diaspora to know how much we contribute to the world in saner climes and understand how your country, aided by your over inflated ego and irascible, cocky, valveless oropharyngeal orifice is killing us

EventsRe: Double Wedding: Two Nigerian Sisters Wed Same Day (photos) by Mr4tunate:
Many people r just stupid and naive at d same time. Some successful idiots will come around to proclaim beautiful bunches of uncensored rubbish and many adequate foolish fellows will believe them hook, line and sinker without verifying its source. These r supposed to b the youths of a country of over 170 million heads for crying out loud.
The wedding in question happened right here in Lagos and not in the north as claimed by OP. I know the sisters involved and u can be sure they ain't teenagers unlike most of u believe. It might also interest u to know that one of the ladies in question is a 500level medical student and that she married a medical doctor whom she met in school and thus far from forced into it unlike your head has been wired to believe when u see Muslims wed. More interesting is the fact that their parents r actually better well to do than 90% Nairalanders. One of the grooms is my close friend and oh yes, we finished from the same school.
Please comrades, let's always research informations before throwing comments around in ignorance like lost catapults.......... PRAH!!!

HealthRe: Court Stops Implementation of FG/JOHESU Agreement by Mr4tunate: 7:00am On Jul 01, 2014
Never argue with a fool, he'll drag you down to his level and beat u with experience, that's what they've rightly said and we've humbly learnt and that is d case of doctors and all dse JOHESU talks.
First of all, Doctors don't just spend six years in school yl other health worker spend 5 years, that will b one of d worst ways to calculate mathematics if that's what pple r really interested in. This is what I mean , yes doctors spend six years but without semesters. In fact throughout the six years period, s totality of holiday a typical medical student will get is 3 weeks unlike our friends who run on semesters and go home to enjoy after 3 or 4 months only
come back after another 2 months, we all know that can never add up to 5 years on the long run.
As if that is not enough, a medical doctor doesn't automatically become a consultant just because he has been practicing for 50 years. Rather despite actively practicing, he would have to complete his residency program which is the training for consultancy in itself and that will take him at least another 5 years provided he's passing his exams at a go.
Just be logical about the kind of information these two sets of pple will have at their disposal , the energy and sacrifice they've contributed to to attain it and the way they'll dessipated these information in the form of skills and handling patients bearing in mind that both of them have been studying just the same HUMAN BEIGN and it's complex creation.
I'm sure your right answer is right within you if only you'll accept it

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Official: Chelsea Confirm Mourinho by Mr4tunate(op): 2:52pm On Jun 03, 2013
The Europa League holders have confirmed the appointment of the Portuguese for his second spell in charge at Stamford Bridge following a six-year absence

Jose Mourinho has been appointed Chelsea manager on a four-year deal.

The Portuguese coach succeeds Rafael Benitez, who has joined Napoli following his six-month interim spell at Stamford Bridge, in the Blues hot-seat.

Mourinho returns to west London for his second spell as Chelsea manager. Since he left the club less than six years ago, the Blues have been through eight managers when caretakers are included.

Ron Gourlay, Chelsea chief executive, welcomed the 50-year-old back to the club, saying: "I am delighted to welcome Jose back to Chelsea. His continued success, drive and ambition made him the outstanding candidate.

"It is our aim to keep the club moving forward to achieve greater success in the future and Jose is our number one choice as we believe he is the right manager to do just that."

Mourinho was Roman Abramovich's first managerial appointment following his 2003 takeover and his most successful to date. In three seasons at Stamford Bridge, Mourinho delivered two Premier League titles, one FA Cup and two League Cups but did not win the Champions League.

He will hope to rectify that upon his return after the most difficult period of his career at Real Madrid.

Mourinho won the 2011-12 Liga title, ending Barcelona's run of dominance in Spain, but could not progress beyond the semi-finals of the Champions League and conceded the Spanish championship back to Tito Vilanova's team last season.

Abramovich has invested heavily at Chelsea in recent seasons as the team Mourinho helped to construct has aged, and the future looks bright for the two-time Champions League winner's return.

Frank Lampard, John Terry and Petr Cech remain of the key cogs of Mourinho's previous Blues team but the likes of Juan Mata, David Luiz and Eden Hazard lead this side now.

The spending, too, looks set to continue this summer. Goal exclusively revealed that Vitesse midfielder Marco van Ginkel is set to become the first signing of Mourinho's second spell in charge and Andre Schurrle, of Bayer Leverkusen, has been heavily linked with the Blues, while the Europa Legue winners have also entered into negotiations with Roma for their Italy international midfielder Daniele De Rossi.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Lampard agrees one-year chelsea contract extension by Mr4tunate(op): 9:27am On May 15, 2013
Frank Lampard has agreed a one-year contract to stay at Chelsea next season, Goal can confirm.

The Blues' record goalscorer had been in a stand-off with the club for the last two years but has now agreed to stay at Stamford Bridge as he prepares to re-unite with former manager Jose Mourinho next season.

Lampard, whose existing deal expires this summer, was the subject of interest from clubs across the world and came close to joining MLS side LA Galaxy before Chelsea finally opened talks over a 12-month deal.

Those discussions have gathered pace in recent weeks and an agreement has now been reached, and an official announcement is expected before the end of the Premier League season on Sunday.

Chelsea supporters have made clear their desire for the 34-year-old to stay at the club after 12 years in west London during which he has scored 203 goals, overtaking Bobby Tambling's scoring record in last Saturday's win at Aston Villa.

The anticipated return of Mourinho is understood to have been a decisive factor in Lampard's decision to sign a new deal, with the midfielder also expected to accept a pay cut.

The England international, who will captain Chelsea in Wednesday's Europa League final against Benfica in Amsterdam due to John Terry's injury, feared he was being driven out of the club.

But he has gone on to make 48 appearances for the Blues this term, scoring 17 goals, and forced the club into a re-think, just as they did when Ashley Cole signed a one-year extension in January.
CelebritiesDavid Beckman Arrested For Having Sex With peacock by Mr4tunate(op): 4:51pm On May 14, 2013
David Beckman, of Chicago, Illinois has been arrested and
charged with cruelty to an animal, after he allegedly raped his
pet peacock….
Albino Peacock
The gruesome act was discovered by Roselle police while
they were investigating Beckman on suspicion of soliciting a
minor for sex. During the investigation they learned that
Beckman had sex with his peacock. The bird, called Phyl,
was found dead in the garage of Beckman. Police believe the
peacock died from the trauma it endured during the incident.
“Is our society coming to accept the idea of humans having
sex with animals? It seems like bestiality is becoming ever
more popular. Until now, I only heard of people having sex
with dogs and horses, this is the first I hear of man-on bird
sex,” Jerry Nelson, 26, of Bloomingdale, Illinois told after
hearing about the charges against Beckman.
On Wednesday, Beckman was booked into DuPage County
Jail and charged with assault and attempted indecent
solicitation of a child. Police also found him in possession of
marijuana drug paraphernalia, which were added to his

Radamel Falcao is off to Mona
The Blues had been in pole position to sign the prolific Colombian after agreeing to meet his £50.7m buyout clause, but have been trumped by the free-spending Ligue 1 new-boys

By Greg Stobart

Chelsea’s pursuit of Radamel Falcao is over after big-spending Monaco agreed to pay the Atletico Madrid star a stunning £8.5m-a-year salary after tax, Goal.com understands.

The Colombian striker could confirm his move to Monaco, who have met the £50.7 million (€60m) release clause in the 27-year-old's contract, on Monday as the club’s Russian owner, Dmitry Rybolovlev, looks to build a side capable of winnning the Ligue 1 championship next season.
Chelsea had been confident of completing a move for Falcao after the 27-year-old was identified by incoming manager Jose Mourinho as his top priority for the summer transfer window.

Blues owner Roman Abramovich was also prepared to meet the release clause in Falcao’s contract but the player’s agent, Jorge Mendes, has now agreed a deal for his client to move to the Stade Louis II following the club’s promotion to Ligue 1.

There have been suggestions in Spain that Falcao is desperate to play for Atletico’s city rivals Real Madrid, with an escape clause likely to be included in his Monaco contract to allow him to leave either in January or next summer.

Chelsea’s attempts to sign the former Porto man had been complicated by third-party ownership issues - with Mendes part of a consortium holding an interest in Falcao - and his demands for a salary package worth around £250,000-a-week to move to Stamford Bridge.

As Real Madrid coach Mourinho prepares to formally re-join Chelsea at the end of the season, he is targeting a first class upgrade on current striker Fernando Torres and Demba Ba.

Falcao, who has also been a target for Manchester City, has scored 34 goals in all competitions for Atletico this season and is considered one of the most lethal out-and-out strikers in the world.

IslamRe: The Difference Between "Islam" And A "Muslim" by Mr4tunate: 6:14pm On May 10, 2013
tspun: we known there is difference btw both. D problem i am having is tring to understand y any religion (islam) will promise is people (muslim) a reward for killing innocent people.pls Explain if u can.
That's a lie, tell anybody dat says that to give u evidence either from the Qur'an or Hadeeth. In fact the rule in Islam is that whoever kills a soul is like someone who killed d whole human race nd will be punished by his creator as such. When the prophet Muhammad (SAW) was asked to explain d meaning of this statement he simply replied "just imagine if Adam had been killed". Brother hope i've answered u question

dat i said many sahaabah changed dr names doesnt mean all of them did. Yes we can say its idiotic to b dogmatic as regards our names bt my point is dat having an arabic name doesnt mean loosing ur identity. If a bank manager is nt loosing his iddntity bywearing a suite under ds freaky hot african sunnd u aint loosing ur identity as a Nigerian speaking english always, so wat identity r u loosing answering an arabic name wen wat u claim as an identity is nt even islamicaly recognised. Always remember dat ur identity either based skin, race, dialect or language isnt of any interest to Allah nd dr is no segregation of any form in islam. So arbic names? No issues, in fact its fine nd brilliant if u so desire
IslamRe: We Are Losing Our Identity To The Arabs by Mr4tunate: 10:16pm On Feb 05, 2013
wat springs up a topic of ds nature is serious vague to my understanding. Having an Islamic name nd using it a d first name shudnt b a big deal. If a joseph or paul will answer d name with great happiness even if hebrew is n more d official christian language, then just y r we complaining of loosing our identity to d arabs? do u even knw dat so many arabs av to change dr names wen embracing islam? dat tells u hw significant a good name is in ds deen. Do u knw dat its mandatory dat one gives one child a beautiful name nd dat d prophet of Allah prefers d names of Allah, d prophets, d sahaabahs nd other beautiful names in dat order? So just wat is ur excuse nd wc identity r u loosing nd do u even remember dat there's no tribal dichotomy in islam? And i cud c u use d word Makrooh, so perhaps u posses a level of islamic understanding nd if dat is true u surelyshud knw dat no identity is required of a muslim except islam in its entity or hw easy can u prove to love Obama wen u r indifferent abt America. And most important of all, do u really think ds avenue is d ryt place for ds kinda topic? Eni ti a fe sunje to tun fi epo para, hw pathetic?
