May I be like the Father who is the source of everything - that I may be able to create the willingness in me to do all good and righteous things and acts to my fellowmen. May I be like the Son who gave up his life to save us - that I may be able to do little sacrifices on my own to be a better person and to show that I care for others. And may I be like the Holy Spirit who guides - that I may be an instrument to guide my lost brothers ans sisters to be home in the Kingdom of God. These I ask through the Holy name of Christ Jesus, your son, and through the intersession of Mary, our mother. Amen. |
Sex is not a shameful thing; it is a divine gift, ordained to life, to love, to fruitfulness. This is the context in which we must see the Christian Doctrine on Sex. Our Faith does not ignore anything on this earth that is beautiful, noble and authentically human. It simply teaches us that the rule of life should not be the selfish pursuit of pleasure, because only Sacrifice and Self-denial lead to true love. - St Josemaria Escriva(Marriag e: A Christian Vocation- Christ is passing by). Do you believe in Chastity before Marriage? |

Good Afternoon My Big Ppl. I Hail oo. RANDOM CONSIDERATIONS (What people say we are) That all Catholics are worshipping idols We are not true Christians as we preach false doctrines MY REPLY: These things stated above can only imply one thing: that the Church is hell bound.. Hmm, what a way of chasing people away from the light. I ask them: Does it mean Christ lied when he made us promise of infallibility and presence? Does it mean that Christ has been blind to many Catholics falling into hell? Notwithstanding the cost he paid to redeem them? Does it mean that it is better to CHOOSE YOUR CHURCH rather than OBEY AND TRUST Christ’s word? (Whosoever listens to you, listens to me) Or has Christ become weak that he can no longer protect HIS BRIDE? Am still waiting for their answers up till dis very moment. Before i Forget My parish priest nearly burst our belle with laughter During Mrn Mass today. |

The opposition party wants the National Assembly to wade in. The All Progressives Congress, APC, said on Thursday that it was in doubt if the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, had the ability to organize a free and fair governorship election in Anambra State, come November 16, going by recent developments. According to a statement by its Interim National Publicity Secretary, Lai Mohammed, the party alleged that the top officials whom the electoral body planned to send to oversee the election were card-carrying members of the PDP and had compromised their role as unbiased umpires. It listed the officials as Lawrence Nwurukwu, the National Commissioner of INEC in charge of the South-East, Gladys Nwafor, the second INEC Commissioner from the South-East. ”Mr. Nwuruku was the Chairman of the PDP in Ebonyi State, while Mrs. Nwafor had worked closely with First Lady Patience Jonathan as a grassroots mobilizer,” the APC said. “These officials cannot, in all honesty, be expected to be unbiased, because they have been compromised by their antecedents. ”If INEC indeed has any hope of organizing a free, fair and transparent election in Anambra on Nov. 16th, it must immediately shelve the plan to send these highly-partisan and heavily-compromised officials to supervise the election. Any action short of that will open INEC to accusations of bias – which is not what any umpire wants,” APC said. The opposition party also said some actions taken by INEC in recent times had called to question its ability to stay above the fray as far as the Anambra election is concerned. ”For example, the voters’ register for Anambra in 2011 had 2.1 million names, which came down to 1.8 million after a review. However, despite continuous registration by INEC, the names came down to 1.7 million. “This kind of chicanery is only possible under a circumstance in which deliberate efforts are being made to depopulate the voters in areas where the opposition has an edge. ”We are therefore left with no choice than to call on the National Assembly to seek explanations from INEC on the hanky- panky. “This is necessary to ensure that the election is not rigged by the same body saddled with ensuring that it is transparently-organized,” it said. APC said it was closely monitoring all the processes leading to the election, since the success of any poll was not limited to actions taken on the election day alone, with a view to ensuring that no candidate is short-changed by the very body that has the responsibility to ensure a level-playing field for all. www.premiumtimesng.com/news/149270-anambra-governorship-poll-apc-accuses-inec-staff-bias.html |

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding." - Proverbs 3: 5 |
~saint of the day~ Sunday, November 03, 2013 St. Martin de Porres (1579-1639) "Father unknown" is the cold legal phrase sometimes used on baptismal records. "Half- breed" or "war souvenir" is the cruel name inflicted by those of "pure" blood. Like many others, Martin might have grown to be a bitter man, but he did not. It was said that even as a child he gave his heart and his goods to the poor and despised. He was the son of a freed woman of Panama, probably black but also possibly of Native American stock, and a Spanish grandee of Lima, Peru. His parents never married each other. Martin inherited the features and dark complexion of his mother. That irked his father, who finally acknowledged his son after eight years. After the birth of a sister, the father abandoned the family. Martin was reared in poverty, locked into a low level of Lima’s society. When he was 12, his mother apprenticed him to a barber-surgeon. He learned how to cut hair and also how to draw blood (a standard medical treatment then), care for wounds and prepare and administer medicines. After a few years in this medical apostolate, Martin applied to the Dominicans to be a "lay helper," not feeling himself worthy to be a religious brother. After nine years, the example of his prayer and penance, charity and humility led the community to request him to make full religious profession. Many of his nights were spent in prayer and penitential practices; his days were filled with nursing the sick and caring for the poor. It was particularly impressive that he treated all people regardless of their color, race or status. He was instrumental in founding an orphanage, took care of slaves brought from Africa and managed the daily alms of the priory with practicality as well as generosity. He became the procurator for both priory and city, whether it was a matter of "blankets, shirts, candles, candy, miracles or prayers!" When his priory was in debt, he said, "I am only a poor mulatto. Sell me. I am the property of the order. Sell me." Side by side with his daily work in the kitchen, laundry and infirmary, Martin’s life reflected God’s extraordinary gifts: ecstasies that lifted him into the air, light filling the room where he prayed, bilocation, miraculous knowledge, instantaneous cures and a remarkable rapport with animals. His charity extended to beasts of the field and even to the vermin of the kitchen. He would excuse the raids of mice and rats on the grounds that they were underfed; he kept stray cats and dogs at his sister’s house. He became a formidable fundraiser, obtaining thousands of dollars for dowries for poor girls so that they could marry or enter a convent. Many of his fellow religious took him as their spiritual director, but he continued to call himself a "poor slave." He was a good friend of another Dominican saint of Peru, Rose of Lima (August 23). |

They always said Africa was a wild place. In the late 19th century, stories of Africa’s extreme landscapes, its hidden wealth and mysterious people made it an almost mythical world. But most of all: it’s iconic animals – great migrations of wildebeest, prides of lion marauding the savannahs, elephant herds moving like boulders across the horizons – captured the imagination. Even African football teams, a pastime that has never failed to ignite excitement and fervour among the inhabitants of the continent, took on the names of iconic wild animals to represent a symbol of national pride, such as: the Elephants of Cote d’Ivoire, Cameroon’s Indomitable Lions, the DRC’s Leopards and the Angolan Black Antelopes. Only animals play football in africa *Lions of cameroon *Elaphants of cote D'ivoire *Super eagles of Nigeria *Squirrels of Benin *Republic Hawks of Togo *Eagles of Mali *Atlas Lions of morocco *Stallions of burkina faso *Teranga Lions of senegal *Scorpions of Rwanda...Jeeeez ...Lol *Walya Antelopes of ethiopia *the carthage eagles of Tunisia...Nawa oooo They also gat funny names like Bafana Bafana of South Africa...come onnnn...wats dat....Lol chipolopolo of Zambia...Mhennn n....see name and pharoahs of Egypt. |
Syncan: Today lets have some remarkable quotes, relating to Purgatory, from the scriptures or from the saints and church fathers.Saint John Marie Vianney "I come to tell you that they suffer in Purgatory, that they weep, and that they demand with urgent cries the help of your prayers and your good works. I seem to hear them crying from the depths of those fires which devour them: "Tell our loved ones, tell our children, tell all our relatives how great the evils are which they are making us suffer. We throw ourselves at their feet to implore the help of their prayers. Ah! Tell them that since we have been separated from them, we have been here burning in the flames!" "Yet how quickly we could empty purgatory if we but really wished to." "Consider then...the magnitude of these sufferings which the souls in Purgatory endure; and the means which we have of mitigating them: our prayers, our good works, and, above all, the holy sacrifice of the Mass." "The Church, to which Jesus Christ promised the guidance of the Holy Ghost and which, consequently, can neither be mistaken herself nor mislead us, teaches us about Purgatory in a very clear and positive manner. It is certain, very certain, that there is a place where the souls of the just complete the expiation of their sins before being admitted to the glory of Paradise, which is assured them." "The fire of Purgatory is the same as the fire of Hell; the difference between them is that the fire of Purgatory is not everlasting." "How dearly we shall pay for all those faults that we look upon as nothing at all, like those little lies that we tell to amuse ourselves, those little scandals, the despising of the graces which God gives us at every moment, those little murmurings in the difficulties that He sends us!" "What years of Purgatory will there be for those Christians who have no difficulty at all in deferring their prayers to another time on the excuse of having to do some pressing work! If we really desired the happiness of possessing God, we should avoid the little faults as well as the big ones, since separation from God is so frightful a torment to all these poor souls!" "We must say many prayers for the souls of the faithful departed, for one must be so pure to enter heaven." |
Syncan: Amen, Amen. God bless you bro. Yes it is the end of the month...and the series as well. Hence to ensure the participation of all in this last class, as well as to usher in All saints day, the question will go thus: With the exception of Jesus and Mary, should God decide to give you an hour, with one of our elder sisters or brothers now with him, which will you request for and why?st. Maximilan of Kolbe Priest, Angel qnd Martyr. Cos Jst has Jesus Christ died For Us, he opted for death to save a fellow human being. He is also an intercessor. I want him to intercede on our behalf. |
