NOTE: Please This Question is Meant For people who pray My problem is that even while my eyes are shut my fickle mind is always wandering! |
Syncan: @ Mr. Al, would you say that all that happens to us, good or bad is the will of God?Ro 8:28 All things work together for good. The third ground of encouragement to saints in suffering is now given. To them, under God's providence, all things, even their sorrows, trials and persecutions, work together for blessing. This precious assurance is not to all mankind, saint and sinner, but is limited to a class. To them that love God. These are those who enjoy the blessed assurance just given. Notice the order in the Revised Version, which is the order of the Greek, "to them that love God all things work together for good". The love of God is the very foundation of the Christian life. See Lu 10:28 and Joh 14:23. The expression, "them that love God", is synonymous with "Followers of Christ". See 1Co 2:9 Eph 6:24 2Ti 4:8 Jas 2:5. The two expressions "them that love God" and "the called" are are different ways of describing the same class. To them who are the called. These have been called by the gospel and have accepted the call. Many others are called Jews and Gentiles, but only those who hear and obey are chosen (Mt 20:16 20:14). Paul uses the term of the latter class; those who hear and obey. The evidence that we are "the called" is that we love God. According to [his] purpose. This call was purposed from the time that God promised a Deliverer of the fallen race (Ge 3:15). |

An impeccable military source has confirmed to SaharaReporters that a combined team of Nigerian soldiers, police, and operatives of the State Security Service (SSS) has rounded up top Boko Haram ‘commanders’ after combing several locations in Kaduna State this week. The source said the captured Boko Haram “commanders” were the brains behind a series of violent attacks carried out in the state in recent weeks. He added that they were caught as they planned to launch new attacks in the town of Kaduna during the Sallah festivities. The military source stated that security operatives recovered extensive incriminating evidence from the captured leaders of the extremist Islamist leaders. “We got evidence from them to suggest their direct affiliation with Boko Haram and also that they were part and parcel of the recent attacks,” he said. The source also disclosed that his combined team also captured several foot soldiers of the Boko Haram sect, adding that they were under interrogation. The joint military-SSS raid that netted the Boko Haram members was carried out in the Rigasa District in Kaduna State. “The operations brought us face to face to the reality that we must intensify our operations. We are using patrols and other strategies we will not talk about now to contain any plans by them [Boko Haram] during Sallah festivities,” the military officer said. Last Sunday, suspected Boko Haram sect members ambushed a policeman. They shot him dead, and then escaped with his rifle. www.saharareporters.com/news-page/military-sss-capture-top-boko-haram-‘commanders’-kaduna |

striktlymi: Morning Al,It also Has to do with decision making in our daily lives. For more knowledge you can read ROMAN 12:2 |
striktlymi: Morning Al,God’s will is a topic not only coveted by people, also little bit confusing as far as its practical side is concerned. In order to bring clarity on that topic, let us take the establishment of Israel monarchy, as a case study. There are two levels of Gods will. 1) Perfect will 2) Permissive will God’s ultimate goal was that He himself should be their king and rule them. But, He foreknew that Israel people would demand an human king, seeing gentiles having monarchy governments. So God already had commanded the code of conduct for the king, in case of monarchy being established, in Deuteronomy: 17:14-20 When thou art come unto the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee, and shalt possess it and shalt dwell therein and shalt say, I will set a king over me, like as all the nations that are about me…….” We read from the prophecies of Jacob in the book of Genesis that there was a probability of Monarchy. Genesis: 17: 6 “……. and kings shall come out of thee” Genesis 49:10-20 “The scepture shall not depart from Judah……” and he shall yield royal dainties. Is Divine King double minded ? Let us be aware of two themes that run simultaneously. “It is my will that I should be your king” said the Lord. At the same time, He had written that there was a probability for Monarchy and Dynasty. Is God double minded? Let us be sure that there is neither confusion nor contrariness in the Scriptures. Bible is crystal clear. It was His ultimate goal and perfect will that people should accept Him as king and obey Him. But, As the image of God is inbuilt in man and makes him to operate his freewill, God never compels man for anything. God never penetrates into man’s free will. Unless and until he submits his freewill upon the alter and confesses” Let it be according to your will Lord, not according to my will”, he does not interfere in his life. Here, you may be confused. This is the reason for the struggle that we often have in our lives. God has given us free will and full freedom. He never interferes in them. He remains so from then to now. Though He foreknew that Israel people would deviate from His plan, why he desired to be their king? WHAT IS PERMISSIVE WILL? Though we act against God`s will and God`s plans , He never let us down . Because He loves us deeply and abundantly, He makes an alternative arrangement. That is permissive will. Though we are pulled by our self- desire and select a way which is contrary to the best plan which God has set for us, He never gives up. God allows His permissive will to be executed in a nation or in a people group. Many times, we fulfill His permissive will only. We may not be prepared to fulfill His perfect will. Even when we decide to do what looks good to us, His loves never lets us down. His love is the only reason for not being forsaken. But, only when we fulfill His perfect will, We can receive His fullness of blessings. Leaving perfect will and doing permissive will brings limited blessings and limited peace along with sufferings and torments, into our lives. Lord, It is enough that so far I have walked in permissive will and received limited blessings. Hereafter enable me to fulfill your perfect will and inherit fullness of blessings. Amen. Irrevocable Decisions We need to learn another lesson. In some areas of life, it is possible to leave the permissive will and reach the perfect will, later on. But, in certain areas, our decisions are irrevocable. Establishing Monarchy in Israel was such a thing. In a western country, a sister, known to me, got married. She is good in spiritual life and in other areas. On the third day from their Marriage, the new couple attended a camp, where I preached. When they came to me for prayer, they opened their heart to me. She said, “I am doubtful if our marriage is in line with God’s will. It looks wrong that I married this man. What to do?” Some people may not think this far, about their marriage. But, they may find the decision that they have taken regarding marriage to be incorrect. This is a difficult area. But, God strengthened me to counsel them and encourage them. When I left their country, they came to the airport and sent off me gladly. Some people are confused about the decision which they have made regarding marriage. You cannot and should not change your path, regarding marriage life. In the same way, Israel people had established Monarchy. This was irrevocable and no way for coming back. Lord, help me to submit my free will at your altar before taking any decision. Some decisions are irrevocable. So, help me to take pre-cautions. Enable me to crucify my self-will and to surrender myself. Though I have failed in decision making in my past life, help me to take the way which you have pre-destined. Amen. God loves this kind of commitment. Perhaps, if you realise today that you have failed to understand God’s will, remember His love and grace. Surrender yourself to them. Do good. Surely you shall see the Lord who sustains you and saves you and protects you. |
God has a reason for allowing things to happen. We may never understand his reasoning, but we simply have to trust his perfect will. Do you trust in God's perfect will? |
The Cross River Police confirmed the kidnap. The Police in Cross River on Friday confirmed the abduction of Etubom Essien Cobham, the father of the Deputy Governor, Efiok Cobham, by gunmen at his country home in Creek Town. The Public Relations Officer of the Cross River State Police Command, Hogan Bassey, confirmed the development while speaking with journalists in Calabar. “For security reasons, I cannot tell you what we are doing to rescue him. “The Commissioner of Police, Mr. Kola Sodipo, and senior officers of the command have gone to Creek Town to see the building and the damage done,” Mr. Bassey said. Witnesses said the gunmen abducted the elder statesman at about 2 a.m. on Friday in his residence at Creek Town in the Odukpani Local Government Area of the state. Sources said that the deputy governor’s uncle, whose name was not immediately ascertained, was also abducted by the gunmen. According to the sources in Creek Town, there was so much shooting while the operation lasted. Sources disclosed that the heavily armed abductors, accompanied by an Alsatian dog, came in through the Calabar creeks with two speed boats. The incident, according to witnesses, lasted for hours and took the community by surprise as the kidnappers fired gun shots indiscriminately to scare away any form of resistance before executing their act. On the number of persons abducted across the state, Mr. Bassey said: “For now we are talking of the father. In due course we will give you details.” On the incident at the residence of the Director-General of the State Security Service (SSS), Ita Ekpenyong, the police spokesperson said the kidnappers could not gain access to Mr. Ekpenyong’s place. He said that though the house of the SSS Director-General was allegedly attacked, the attackers were repelled by security officials. Efforts to get the State Government’s reaction on the incident were not successful as top government officials kept sealed lips on the incident. www.premiumtimesng.com/news/146479-gunmen-kidnap-cross-river-deputy-governors-father.html |

The Joint Security Task Force (JTF) said that it discovered a high calibre bomb factory at Gunduwawa village in Gezawa Local Government Area of the state. The factory is believed to belong to the extremist Boko Haram sect. The Commander, 3 Brigade of the Nigeria Army, Kano, Brig.-Gen. Iliyasu Abba, made the disclosure when he briefed newsmen in Kano on Wednesday. Mr. Abba said the discovery was made on Tuesday around 2 a.m., during an operation by a combined team of the JTF troops and the Department of State Services (DSS) operatives. “At about 2 am on Oct. 8, a combined team of the JTF troops and Department of State Services raided two Boko Haram terrorists’ hideouts at Gunduwawa village in Gezawa Local Government Area. “The raid, which was conducted following a lead on intelligence reports, made no arrests as the terrorists fled the village on the approach of the JTF troops and DSS personnel,’’ he said. He, however, said one person who was believed to be the son of the owner of the house was killed during the operation. According to him, the deceased is said to have rented the house to the fleeing terrorists. He said the team was also able to recover weapons, working tools and materials used for making improvised explosive devices (EIDs). He added that they recovered one assault rifle, two AK58 rifle magazines with 193 rounds of 5.56mm ammunition, and one AK 47 rifle magazine with 107 rounds of 7.62mm (Special) ammunition and bows and arrows. Others are: three primed cylinders of IEDs, one primed explosive suicide back pack, 18 empty IED cylinders, 24 detonators, and small bag of fertiliser and IED timers. The rest are: cortex wires and three remote control devices, five Motorola hand held radios, four communicators, six alarm clocks, two cartons of 9-volt batteries, a scale, one external hard drive and one heavy duty charger/battery. “These weapons, ammunitions and other dangerous materials were meant to wreak havoc on Kano during the Eid-el-Kabir and other festivities before the end of the year.’’ He urged members of the public to continue to cooperate with the JTF operatives in its effort to curb the activities of terrorists in the state. *The* government said it was subsidising some health checks for Nigerians. As part of plans to check the alarming rate of sudden death and related health challenges in the country, President Goodluck Jonathan has launched a Nigerian National Stroke Prevention Programme. The launch took place immediately after the weekly meeting of the Executive Council of the Federation, FEC, on Wednesday in Abuja. According to Mr. Jonathan, the programme was inevitable as a result of the disturbing rate of sudden deaths and stroke in the country. The launch was highlighted by a special health check on the President and Vice President Namadi Sambo inside a mobile ambulance at the fore-court of the Presidential Villa. Briefing journalists after the exercise, the Minister of Health, Onyebuchi Chukwu, said the programme was approved by the president as an antidote to sudden death. Mr. Chukwu said that the government was worried about the recent alarming rate of sudden deaths of Nigerians, whom he noted are mostly in their prime. The programme is expected to encourage people to check their health status regularly. The minister further disclosed that the cost of the test, which is about N50, 000, has been reduced by the government through a subsidized arrangement to now cost N10, 000; particularly for indigent Nigerians. “The health awareness programme is to help Nigerians to check up on their health on regular basis to take fitness seriously and take close attention to their life styles. “Apart from in-born pre-conditions, the main causes of stroke and heart-attack are things that can be prevented like hypertension, diabetes, lack of exercise, excessive consumption of alcohol and smoking and so on. “The President felt something needed to be done on a national scale. So the President and the Vice President demonstrated leadership by example by allowing themselves to go through the same process. “They were seen by consultants who carried out some tests on them such as body mass index, measurement of height and weight, blood pressure. “The President approved of the programmed to be managed by the Federal Ministry of Health in collaboration with Federal Teaching Hospitals and other hospital in Nigeria; as well as the Nigeria in Diaspora to execute the programme,’’ he said. www.premiumtimesng.com/news/146328-nigeria-launches-stroke-prevention-programme.html |
superior1: Can someone help me with biblical verses where Christians are asked to pray with RosaryThe Truth is that if you say your Rosary daily , and meditate on its mysteries, it will bring down many graces from heaven to you. It will strengthen you to overcome temptation, and to grow holy. It will lead you straight to heaven, and away from the devil. Saying the rosary is pondering the life of Christ with Mary, as she did in Luke 2:19. Is 15 or 20 minutes a day worth that to you? How many people do you know that say the rosary daily are lustful, angry, slothful, etc.? Habitual sin will no longer be a part of your life. How to say the Rosary FAQ's about the Rosary Quotes on the Rosary from the Saints Rosary Promises, Blessings, and Benefits Fatima How to Say the Rosary in Latin The 54 Day Rosary Novena The Rosary is more than just repeating the words of Gabriel ("Hail Full of Grace, the Lord is with Thee" ![]() and Elizabeth ("Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus" fromscripture. It is also about meditating on the 20 "mysteries". Mysteries? What are these mysteries? They are broken down into four sets of mysteries, all taken from the bible: 1. The Joyful Mysteries 2. The Luminous Mysteries 3. The Sorrowful Mysteries 4. The Glorious Mysteries. The Joyful Mysteries are as follows: 1. The Annunciation of the Birth of Jesus to Mary 2. The Visitation of Mary to Elizabeth 3. The Birth of Jesus 4. The Presentation of Jesus in the Temple 5. The Finding of Jesus in the Temple The Luminous Mysteries are as follows: 1. The Baptism of Jesus 2. The Wedding Feast at Cana 3. The Proclamation of the Kingdom 4. The Transfiguration of Jesus 5. The Institution of the Eucharist The Sorrowful Mysteries are as follows: 1. The Agony of Jesus in the Garden of Gesthemane 2. The Scourging of Jesus at the Pillar 3. The Crowning of Thorns 4. The Carrying of the Cross 5. The Crucifixion of Jesus The Glorious Mysteries are as follows: 1. The Resurrection of Jesus 2. The Ascension of Jesus into Heaven 3. The Descent of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost 4. The Assumption of Mary 5. The Coronation of Mary While the first 18 mysteries can be directly taken from the Bible, the last 2 mysteries, the Assumption of Mary and the Coronation of Mary, can be deduced from scripture. Taking a close look at Revelation Chapter 12, scripture talks about a woman, not a disembodied spirit, in heaven with a crown on her head. Paul says that a crown AWAITS us all in heaven (2 Timothy 4: , so thiswoman already has hers. Since this woman is the woman who gave birth to the Savior, the woman has to be Mary. And Psalm 45:6ff clearly talks about the coronation of the Queen: Your divine throne endures for ever and ever. Your royal scepter is a scepter of equity; you love righteousness and hate wickedness. Therefore God, your God, has anointed you with the oil of gladness above your fellows; your robes are all fragrant with myrrh and aloes and cassia. From ivory palaces stringed instruments make you glad; daughters of kings are among your ladies of honor; at your right hand stands the queen in gold of Ophir. Hear, O daughter, consider, and incline your ear; forget your people and your father's house; and the king will desire your beauty. Since he is your lord, bow to him; the people of Tyre will sue your favor with gifts, the richest of the people with all kinds of wealth. The princess is decked in her chamber with gold- woven robes ; in many-colored robes she is led to the king, with her virgin companions, her escort, in her train. With joy and gladness they are led along as they enter the palace of the king. Instead of your fathers shall be your sons; you will make them princes in all the earth. I will cause your name to be celebrated in all generations; therefore the peoples will praise you for ever and ever. (**NOTE - This last verse from Psalm 45 is a clear reference to Luke 1:48 concerning the Blessed Virgin Mary: for he has regarded the low estate of his handmaiden. For behold, henceforth all generations will call me blessed!) The Bible says in James 5:20 that " whoever brings back a sinner from the error of his way will save his soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins." So by praying the rosary for sinners, we not only save them, but ourselves as well. To multiply the blessings of the rosary, it is very beneficial to join the Rosary Confraternity. By joining, you get the blessings from all of the rosaries said by all of the members, rather than just yours. To learn about the history and origins of the rosary, click here . How to Say the Rosary Each meditation on each mystery consists of saying one Our Father, 10 Hail Mary's (while meditating on the mystery), the Glory Be to the Father Prayer, and the Fatima Prayer ("Oh my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell, and lead all souls to heaven, especially those in most need of thy mercy). At the end of the rosary, the Hail Holy Queen prayer is usually said. The meditation on these events is the key to the Rosary. Mindlessly repeating the Hail Mary prayer without the meditation on these mysteries would be vain repitition, but when the vocal prayer (the body of the rosary), is combined with the mental meditation of the 20 mysteries (the soul of the rosary), then it is actually praying the gospel of Jesus Christ ! The physical rosary beads are nothing more than prayer counters to help us remember when it is time to switch over to the next mystery. If one is truly meditating, then trying to remember the number of Hail Mary's would be tough. By fingering the beads, it merely assists us with the count. While it is tough to try to meditate on the mysteries at the same time one is saying the Hail Mary, the key to properly saying the rosary is to concentrate less on the Hail Mary, and more on the mysteries. Putting one's self back in time mentally and trying to visualize actually being at the scene of the mystery is a good technique to use. And be sure to get your rosary blessed by a priest. The blessing on the rosary increases the spirituality of your prayers, forever. |

THE SOLID ROCK OF MY FAMILY. I just thought that I would sHare some loving memories of growing up with my mom, JUSTINA GODWIN. All I can say is that she was the best mother anyone could ever have. My mother was one of those women who was raised in the south by my strong, hard working grandparents. Mom not only raised me, but she raised my 3 older sisters as well. Mom used to cook large meals for us as well as for my aunts, uncles and other relatives and friends and they loved it! On Fridays, she would cook up some of her catfish with spaghetti and salad, our house would be packed. Our guests was always taking a plate to go. My mom loved to listen to music while she did her cooking and cleaning around the house. Of course, us four girls was always around to help out. Whenever she made her desserts, we would all take turns licking the bowls. As mom grew older, she started to attend church services quite frequently. She enjoyed this very much. Mom very much still loved to cook those big Sunday dinners. Mom was the Rev Father aide as well as the usher at her church. She took great pride in her church duties until her health started to decline. Unfortunately, mom passed away in April of 2012. Her death left a big void in our hearts and it still does to this very day. But as time go on, we have learned to appreciate the valuable life lessons instilled in us by our mother. It's funny how some of the things that she used to say still ring in my ear today. So many times, I wished that I had listened to her instructions, but as young folks, we always want to go out & experience life for ourselves. One thing I can say about Mom, she did not put up with a lot of foolishness when it came to raising her children. Her firm voice and stern ways kept us in line, and I thank her for that. The love that I feel for my mom, I'm passing that same love down to my children in hopes that they would know what it feels like knowing that their mother loved and cared for them. Mom, I dedicate this writing in your memory. Just know that you have touched so many lives during your stay with us on this earth and for that we are forever grateful. On today, October 07, 2013, the Momery Of You Glows To Me. It has not been easy. But I choose to remember her with warm thoughts, laughter, and of course, tears. My life has not been the same. There is not a day that goes by that I see or hear something that reminds me of her. What I wouldn't give to see her smile and hear her laughter. I remember all the conversations that we used to have. RIP mom!!!! I love you, always. Update: Today is my mom's 56th birthday. I will honor her memory with laughter and tears as I reminisce of all the wonderful times that we have shared as mother and daughter. I surely do miss her cooking. I do miss the times when we attended church together with my children and stepfather. It's still hard to believe that she has been gone for 1 year And 6 Months. But I know that she is resting in peace and I can go on in my life. Mom, you will always be in my heart and spirit. I carry you within me everywhere I go. I love you so very much and I surely do miss you. I look forward to the day to when I can see your face again!!!!!!! Just know that you have touched so many lives during your stay here on earth. I know that you are in God's care. RIP Mama!!!!! I Love You. |

, so this
