log(x^2+7x-2)base2=log(x^2+3x-6)base2+log8base4..
log(x^2+7x-2)-log(x^2+3x-6)=3/2log2base2..log2base2=1,
log(x^2+7x-2)base2/log(x^2+3x-6)base2=3/2.
.logbase2 cancels each other
(x^2+7x-2)/(x^2+3x-6)=3/2..
.cros multiply
x^2+7x-2=3/2(x^2+3x-6)..
multiply both by 2
2(x^2+7x-2)=3(x^2+3x-6)
2x^2+14x-4=3x^2+9x-18...by colectin lyk tems u'l get
x^2-5x-14=0..quadraticaly x=7 or x=-2

Amount paid for working for x days, 750x and amount fined for failing to work for y days, 500y
750x - 500y=16250...(2)
Multiply equation (1) by 500 and equation (2) by 1
500x + 500y=12500
750x - 500y=16250
Add the two equations
1250x=28750
x=28750/1250
x=23
y= 25-23
=2
Therefore, x=23;y=2
