DEFENSE
'War beyond the region': IRGC vows to 'lay enemies in black dust' if Iran faces new aggression
The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has warned that if aggression against Iran is repeated, the regional war that had previously been promised will this time be extended beyond the region, and that devastating blows would be delivered from places the enemy cannot imagine.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the IRGC addressed the United States directly, saying the "American-Zionist enemy" has failed to learn from repeated major strategic defeats at the hands of the Islamic Revolution and has once again resorted to threats.

"Although they attacked us with the full capabilities of two armies – the most expensive armies in the world – we did not bring all the capacities of the Islamic Revolution into action against them," the statement said.

"But now, if aggression against Iran is repeated, the regional war that had been promised will this time be drawn beyond the region, and our crushing blows will lay you in black dust in places you cannot imagine."

The statement, issued under the Qur'anic verse "Fight the leaders of disbelief – indeed they have no [commitment to] oaths – that they might cease" (Surah Al-Tawbah, verse 12), said the IRGC would demonstrate its power on the battlefield rather than through empty statements or virtual pages.

"We are men of war, and you will see our power on the battlefield, not in hollow statements or virtual pages," the IRGC said. "And there is no victory except from God, the Almighty, the Wise."

The warning comes amid escalating war rhetoric from US President Donald Trump, who has threatened in recent days to launch renewed strikes against Iran if indirect diplomatic discussions do not conclude in an agreement.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi also warned earlier on Wednesday that any return to war with Iran would bring “many more surprises.”

The brutal US-Israeli aggression on Iran was launched on February 28 with deadly airstrikes that hit an elementary school in Minab, assassinated Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, and killed senior Iranian officials and commanders.

The Islamic Republic retaliated to the US-Israeli strikes by firing hundreds of drones and missiles at US-Israeli military and commercial targets across the region.

The Russian president’s official visit reinforces what both sides have described as a “no-limits” relationship

Chinese President Xi Jinping is hosting Russian President Vladimir Putin for a two-day official visit in Beijing packed with talks and events aimed at deepening ties amid geopolitical and economic turmoil linked to the war in the Middle East.

Putin’s visit comes days after Xi’s summit with US President Donald Trump and coincides with the 25th anniversary of the Russia-China Treaty of Good-Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation, a landmark agreement that laid the foundation for the countries’ strategic partnership.

Putin arrived in Beijing on Tuesday night accompanied by a high-level delegation that includes senior Kremlin officials, ministers, and the heads of major Russian companies and financial institutions, including Kremlin investment envoy Kirill Dmitriev, Central Bank Governor Elvira Nabiullina, and Russian space chief Dmitry Bakanov.

Wednesday began with one-on-one and expanded-format talks between Putin and Xi. Speaking to reporters, Xi described the discussions as “deep, friendly, and productive,” saying they covered a broad international agenda. Putin called Russia-China ties a “model of interstate relations in the modern world,” arguing the partnership is built on equal rights, mutual support, and “genuine friendliness.”

According to the Kremlin, around 40 agreements are expected to be signed during Putin’s visit. Putin and Xi have already signed a joint statement extending the Russia-China Treaty of Good-Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation, as well as a declaration on building a multipolar world, stating that attempts by “some states” to dominate global affairs, impose their interests, and restrict other countries’ sovereign development have “failed.”

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov also confirmed Russia would extend its visa-free regime with China, saying the “practice has proved itself positively.” Xi meanwhile noted that despite the “difficult international situation,” bilateral trade had exceeded $200 billion, with turnover between January and April alone rising 20%, which he described as “not an easy feat.”

Sad event from 60 years ago, However I do believe most Nigerians today are more concerned with the matters of the day. Same with how Europeans are more concerned with the matters of today over the incidents of WW2 which happened 80 years ago. The average Nigerian in the IDP camp and the over hundred Nigerians who recently kidnapped across Ekiti and Oyo are probably waiting for their release to come today or at least in the near future, surely they wouldn't be expecting their release to come from the past.

Bush meat is not the specific name of any animal...

In Nigeria terms it is any animal (apart from the usual goat, cattle, pork, etc) found and usually hunted in the bush.

So an antelope, hedgehog, even snakes are referred to as bush meat etc. As long as it's not the usual domesticated animals.

I used to pass through ore and along the road you would see different animals on display some of which I don't even know the names or identify... all are referred to as bush meat because they were hunted and came from the forest!
You dey hunt inside gutter? I am telling you that other thing wey dem dey call bushmeat is not bushmeat but a gutter rat.

The part of igboland that I come from, no one refers to rat as bushmeat. Antelope and Grasscutter are commonly referred to as bush meat, No one refers to goat (Ewu), cattle (Ehi) or Pig (Ezi) as bush meat.

Rat is not bushmeat, not to the Igbo man anyway
FoodUnderstanding The Difference Between Grasscutter And Rats by Mrchippychappy(op): 5:36pm On May 19
I saw a thread here https://www.nairaland.com/8673699/how-ended-sunday-bush-meat and I want to set the record straight on this matter.

In Igbo land, Grasscutter is what we refer to as Bushmeat (see first and second picture below), however some Nigerians don't seem to understand the difference between bushmeat and the typical gutter rat.

Please see the pictures below, Notice the rounded head, short ear and short mouth on the grasscutter? compare that to the long mouth, long tail, long and slender long body of the gutter rat (Third picture below)

The Grasscutter is herbivorous and can be found in the bushes and forest , while the Gutter rat eats anything and can be found in the gutter eating excrement, cockroaches, dirt. It is not fit for human consumption.

This habit of catching gutter rats, killing them and trying to pass them off as bushmeat is making Nigerians look bad, the average foreigner visiting Nairaland would assume that Nigerians eat rats.

Its not a good look

Exactly but the average Nigerian politician is looking for instant gratification, they would rather feed from the crumbs from the table of the thieveing ruling class than take the time to make their own food.

Peter Obi can never be president even if bandits behead all of us in the west.
Sometimes tribal sentiment can drive a person insane, Trust me I have seen so many people change their tune. This no be Igbo - Yoruba matter, no be OPC or Biafra. MAKE EVERYBODY UNITE! Even if it is just to protect the southern territories. Ethnoreligious politics is now the order of the day, when people tried to create awareness about the Christian genocide, once again tribal politics was used to divide our voices, even those who were Christians in certain parts of the south refused to speak up as they believed doing that would expose the government as being complicit so instead they kept quite because of tribalism and Now we are seeing the result.

If we fail to come together to fight this evil, When e happen, e go be like film.
PoliticsThe South Should Stop Playing Politics And Unite Against Terror. by Mrchippychappy(op): 12:44pm On May 18
The news from Oyo and Ekiti the week before should set alarm bells ringing. When Akeredolu set up Amotekun, he mysteriously became ill all of a sudden and the news was that he had cancer, many of us who saw a similar situation with Dora Akunyili (when she dared to question the illegal power grab that the North were playing when Yaradua fell ill) raised alarms regarding the similarity in the situation, Akeredolu's wife also raised suspicions but some how the political machinery ended up twisting her concerns into tribal sentiments and the rest is history. Today, Amotekun that started with such firepower and determination is basically a shadow of itself.
Nnamdi Kanu spoke about each zone securing their own land and the reward he got was punishment.

On X there's a video of one of the teachers that was abducted from Oyo state being beheaded by the bandits. I would advise you to not go looking for it.

Nigerians, Make Una leave this whole na my turn, na my turn matter, Leave Igbo vs Yoruba matter. The evil that is coming would engulf the entire South if we don't start securing our regions. Forget army, forget soldier, they can't protect you from what is coming, especially now that we have repentant terrorists enlisted into the Nigerian armed forces. Forget politics, if na America, make we call for their help. This matter don pass everybody power.
