How motivated are you about the game tomorrow?

For me. I wouldn't mind if we grab a draw. grin
But winning those punks would be an iceing on the cake.
I won't lie, I want us to end our poor record at Anfield. As in, bad bad. But it is out of my hands. If our players turn up, the match will be very tough.

..... Ceballos is the first midfielder that's a true playmaker that's dynamic as both an 8 and a 10. It's what the modern game requires, the number 10 has to drop deep to start play and also press from the front. This is where Ozil's problem lies in; he doesn't like to drop deep and rarely playmake, he just wants to lay the killer pass and that's not enough anymore.

... You are welcome, bro.

.. Emery clearly wanted Ceballos for something and we got a glimpse of that in the last match. Emery is clearly not a possession style coach, he is at base counter attacking but a different style as his system still requires quick short passes rather than parking the bus. His style is something that will come into play very well as soon as we have players like Holding back who is better than Sokratis at ball playing and Bellerin too who is smarter with his positionings and will make our right wing more productive. We then to use the left wing because Niles doesn't bring that quick movement of the ball Emery requires just as good as Monreal does. It's actually stagnates our play massively which was why Emery wanted to sign another right back.

...Bellerin will be eased in slowly, still medicine is now advanced and not like before. His speed should still be there since this is his first knee injury I think.

.... Niles is a good player and very sleeky on the ball which shows he is highly confident in his skills and abilities. To me he is a better player than Willock because of his technical skills but the edge Willock has over him is his level headedness. Niles loses concentration easily and he does that under little or no pressure and in dangerous places. Having a player like that and Xhaka in Midfield is bad news. He has to cut that shitt out if he ever hopes to play in our midfield, for now he is our Milner; versatile on the pitch and can fill in important places.

.... As for tomorrow's game, I will just go out and enjoy the game. It's going to be end to end stuff. Whatever happens, It's one game more where the team gels more together.

...
My broda, that's AMN biggest problem. If he does not root it out now, mehn... Lemme not say bad thing.

Me, too. Win or lose, I'll enjoy the match. Anything can happen, but I'm not holding my breath. I just want a good performance, not our usual 'score 1 and get 3/4/5 free' cheesy

.... https://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/ceballos-showing-why-ozil-is-fighting-a-losing-battle-with-emery-/1bn88gk8yztjq1iwnuh71y6s0e
Thanks, read it. But it doesn't really say much. Most Arsenal fans know that Ozil's time is up at the Emirates. Unless he recaptures his Madrid form or the season he had 18 assists before Christmas, or Injury keeps out Ceb (that's if he maintains his current form).

What I'm more interested in our style of play. Sometimes you see it, most times it's sideways passing. I wish Unai can adopt peak Wengerball with this players. I'm confident we won't finish less than 3rd. If his own system clicks, it will be a very different Arsenal. One I'd like to see.

I hope bellerin can still run. 9months is not a joke ooo. I have not KT play, but if he is as good as his FM stat says, then I'm excited.

P.s. we need to move AMS to midfield, and get a proper RB. We are wasting his talent at RB. However, from the looks of it, I doubt Unai will move him there.

How would Disney feel if Sony is requesting for 50% from spiderman toy and merchandise sales?
Bro, the reverse is the case. Marvel is the one financing the Spiderman movies. Sony gets 95% and Disney 5%. Hence why Disney proposed a 50/50 split.

I like what someone said earlier, that Burnley can never play City the way they played us. The same with Liverpool. Although we call some of these teams small, they know how to smell blood (weakness), and they would never let go of the opportunity to beat a 'big' team.

If we can develop an aggressive (not physical) style of play, one that would make most teams tremble, then some of the 'small' teams will mentally accept defeat once it's time to play us.

It's just like United of those days, they might have a rubbish 11 playing, but they would win convincingly. All teams feared them then. Same with city and pool. I hope Arsenal can get back to those heights.

By the way, I think Silent Stan actually cares about Arsenal grin cheesy or maybe it's Josh. But I like the new atmosphere around the club. Transfer window only closed a few days ago, yet they're already talking about January.

Reading the comments of other Gunners on Reddit is not funny at all. Most expect another bashing while some are cautiously optimistic cheesy grin

Mehn, I won't lie. I want us to win. I really do. Imagine beating Pool and Spurs back to back... I can't remember the last time we started the season 4/4.

On a side note, the battle for the top 6 will be brutal this year. Everton, Wolves and Leicester are not easy teams to beat ooo... The race for top 6 will be more interesting than the title race. Hopefully, we are challenging for the title cheesy cheesy grin cheesy cheesy

.... The midfield used today have never played with themselves before. And still they were decent. Xhaka and Torreira started the last time and both couldn't beat the press. Today's display was encouraging in midfield but like I already said we are not ready yet. That chemistry is still lacking. Xhaka is still currently injured and Torreira is still being eased in so I have no Idea as to what Emery is planning for our midfield against Liverpool but I see him using a 3 - 4 - 3 or 3 - 4 - 1 - 2 formation against them. A back four will be asking for trouble. I don't see another way.

.... Whatever happens, I won't be mad. Those first six points was the Koko for me.
I don't think most people will agree with me, but I believe it's down to individual ability if you want to beat a pressing team. Take Ceb for example, he was able to wiggle out of tight spots down to his own ability. Sometimes, he took two men out of the equation even when pressed. Meanwhile, Guen and Wilock had a more difficult time. Forget Xhaka, everyone here knows my opinion about him (when pressed), Lucas, on the other hand, had a terrible day the last time we visited Anfield. He, too, can sometimes wiggle out of the press, but the only problem will be his fitness.

To be honest, using any formation that has 3 at the back is an open invitation for pressure, and I think that is something bwe should avoid going to Anfield.

Play 4 at the back with hardworking Midfielders, surrender possession and look for the counter. Although Liverpool are press Masters, they're human, too. Survive the onslaught of the first 30mins, grow into the game, then anything can happen. However, we must be extremely disciplined (that will be the real challenge for us).

.... Person nearly smash im phone today for Game centre after Niles pass ball to throwing. Ticket dey cut, Baba dey form sleeky player for field.. grin... He was roasted today by McNeil but he had little cover from Auba. Mane must be curtailed and I hope Niles will behave himself that day.
This is what I said a few days ago. If a good winger (pacy) faces AMN, they usually get the best of him, same with Monreal. I can't imagine Niles doing anything to stop Mane, I just can't see it. Monreal, too, can't match Salah for pace. The baba of them all Xhaka, if he plays, Gini and Henderson will press shege out of him, hence baba will make mistakes up and down.

Well, unlike Liverpool, we are chasing Top 4 while they're chasing the Title. Once all our players return, and the team gel, we would give them a game at the Emirates.

For now though, it would take a very disciplined performance and a little bit of luck for us to walkaway with something from there. It's been over 3+ years we beat Liverpool.

... People castigating the Midfield don't realize we were fvcking pressed like mad but still the youngsters there found a way to beat the press a lot of times today, one of those times culminating in that move that Guendouzi should have scored. The speed could have been faster, true but the dynamisms and quick transition was a joy to watch some times. The turnings by the youngsters in Midfield was good in beating the press. Xhaka would have faltered under such intense press today. Looking forward this season Guendouzi, Torreira and Ceballos will be a dynamic midfield..
cheesy cheesy If Burnley can do that to us, what do you think Liverpool will do? Especially at Anfield. If we can't comfortably beat Burnley's press, then a tough time awaits us against City and Liverpool. Those two are the Masters of pressing.

truth be told, Leno looked shaky today especially with how he dealt with aerial balls. Luiz looked good especially if you consider this is his first game for us.
I don't blame him, those Burnley boys are bullish in their approach. Most teams will find it very difficult defending against them. We even tried. Last season, we would have conceded from one of their set piece.

Did u watch west ham v man city? Did u watch how west ham supporters celebrated when city's third goal was overruled? You will think they've wọn already.

Maybe u are talking from the perspective of a typical Nigerian fan(we are known to always switch sides easily when our teams aren't doing well) but most fans don't just wake up and write off the chances if their team every now and then.
So you expect majority of West Hams to go into the city game expecting something? A team that surpassed them with 46 points.

You should indicate some fans go into games expecting a miracle against superior opposition. Because, most fans already know what could possibly happen. However, they attend/watch those games because they're fans.

It's like having hope a lightweight boxer will beat a heavyweight boxer. Only on a rear day will that happen.

How do you guys do that? I mean u already expect Xhaka to lose the ball, u expect Maitland Niles to get run over, u expect ozil not to live up to billing (if he plays) and then u watch the match. I mean even fans of Charlton Athletic will hope their team give stunning performance when they meet superior opponents.

Kai! Even when we play teams like barca with superior players I don't watch match with defeatist mindset, make Una dey try get behind the team na. Even when loserpool was in the wilderness I know seizable number of their fans who never relented. Even when we were walloping them in them Julio baptista days, dem still dey get morale pass all the things I dey read here o
It's not that I've a defeatist mindset, I'm a realist. Everything I mentioned earlier always happens when we play Liverpool. Naturally, I want my team to win, but let's face reality. Liverpool are the superior team. Optimism is good, but sometimes you have to face reality.

To be honest, if a team like Charlton is up against Liverpool, most of their fans will have zero expectations. It's not just possible. But, they'll be elated if they get a win/draw. But if you think otherwise, that's your opinion.

Broda, that place is a slaughter house. If we can get a point, Omo we try. Our record there in recent years is very miserable. If monreal and AMN play, forget it, the game will be hard. Don't forget Xhaka will turn to daddy showkey once someone presses him, and Liverpool are the kings of pressing in EPL.

Instead of going toe to toe with them, let's play on the counter. However, knowing our defense, I doubt they would be able to survive the continuous onslaught.

I'm not expecting much from the match. A draw would be a very, very good result.

He is world-class in doing that. Naturally, it's impossible for anyone to bury every chance he gets but nevertheless 33 goals in 50 games is insane but I think Sallah has more in 38 goals.

Since Ozil and Kola won't play tomorrow, Montreal and Wilock will step in for them. I've a sneaky feeling we won't see Pepe, Cabellos and Luiz in the starting 11.

--------------------Auba----------------

Nelson --------Wilock----------Miki

----------Guen-----------Xhaka----------

Monreal-----Papa-------Chambers-----AMN

--------------------Leno------------------

This might be outline up tomorrow.

(If Laca is fit, then he will replace Nelson or Miki, but my money is on Nelson.)

P.s. I don't want to see this lineup against Newcastle. Mahrez played today, Mane yesterday. So there is absolutely no reason for Unai not to play our big guns. He better not start nonsense with the first game, because the 3 & 4 game will be very difficult.

Unpopular opinion cheesy I also share, look at barca, city,PSG and Bayern, I don't rate their defence as an A or B, just a C IMO.
What those teams have is a very deadly forward with defenders ability to hold and shield the Ball well... See pique, he isn't good on one on one, but when he gets the ball, he can't be dispossessed unless you foul him..
City defenders are ballplayers, Barca's are attackers except umtiti.
With a good attack burying chances after chances, midfield and defenders passing and guarding the ball well, Defenders are on holiday.
Bro, don't let the fact that these teams concede against 'big' teams fool you that there defense is not good. Apart from A. Madrid, Barca has consistently had the second or third best defense in the league.

Man for man, A. Madrid backline is not better than Barca's, but due to DS's system, they're all look like Goliaths.

Since Pep took over City he has not dropped out top 3 defense in the league, Liverpool only beat them by one goal last season.

In the last four years or more, no team in Germany has a better defense than Bayern, as in, no team comes close.

In the last five years, PSG has a better defensive record than any other team, losing out twice by three goals.

Bro, if you really think these guys only have a 'C' ranked defense, then truly I'm surprised.

Fergie famously said, "Attackers win you games, but defenders win you titles."

To me, I don't think he is wrong.

Buying Coutinho is not a bad idea, but it would be reckless if we don't plan to strengthen our photos defense, first.

I've read, let's win games buy 6-5, 10-9.... My answer to that is, what if we meet a rugged defense? What next? We score 1, and they score 3 or 4.

Somebody mentioned Rodger's Liverpool, they had everything except the defense to win the league. They scored 101 Gail's and conceded 50!!! City on the other hand scored 102 and conceded 37.

Imagine what would have happened if they had a better defense that year?

If we setting up to attack, attack and attack this year, I'll enjoy bit as much as any other arsenal fan. But, at the back of my mind, I'd expect some thorough thrashing along the way.

P.s. you have a right to your opinion, bro. And, this is not an attack, I'm just stating my opinion, too.

I was just about to mention this. Tactics is the difference when two teams with similar strength meet. In fact, if used well, an underdog could blow away the favorite with 'good' tactics.

I'm surprised that some people think tactics is somewhat overated. Especially in modern football. If Barca had a tactically sound coach, there is no way Roma or Liverpool would have done that nonsense to them.

In my opinion, if you're not prepared tactically before a match, then you have lost that match already. Gone are the days, managers gather players and tell them to just play.
