Politics › Re: First, Regionalism Will Stop Banditry From Infesting To Other Regions by Mrexcell(m): 12:21pm On Jun 15, 2024 |
ednut1: talk is cheap. A bandit operating in south west can easily move through the bushes to operate in south east, south south, north central, north west. Dey play.
The capitals of the regions are likely administrative centres and not the resource Centers. There will still be economic parasites . The oil rich states currently get 13% derivation, NDDC and other derivations. Has it been used to develop the oil producing communities So u don't know that the political will to stop banditry and bokoharam is not really there? When regions are allowed to police themselves bandits and other violent groups like fulaniherdsmen menace will definitely be curtained. No region which wants to really develop will tolerate those violent groups to flourish like we currently see because they are anti development. |

Amah70: Primitive greed of Owerri people made Imo state the most unjust state in Nigeria.
All the 5 federal universities and Polytechnics in Imo state are forced to be located in Owerri. They still forced Imo state university to be located in Owerri.
All the federal housing estates for Imo state were forced to be located in Owerri zone.
All government ministries and paratarals in Imo state are located in Owerri. Even this year, Owerri dragged the new Federal university teaching hospital for Imo state and got it located in Owerri. Owerri people don't consider any place in Imo state outside Owerri as part of Imo state.
Imo is Owerri state in disguise.
Even the Secratariat of oil producing areas of Ohaji-Egbema is located in Owerri. I have been thinking about this too am from imo state okigwe zone to be precise but wonder anytime I travel around imo why development is not getting to other zones except owerri zone. |

They know their region is the least productive and inconsequential. But the Ohaneze president who speaks for all igbos in nigeria was recently heard recommending regional govt as solution for nigeria's problems? |

Kemetian: They likely sent out emissaries. It was not at all uncommon in ancient times for African empires to travel the seas and explore the world. Africans were the world’s first explorers for thousands of years before any white nations emerged.
The Mali Empire sent 2,000 ships to the Americas centuries before Christopher Columbus, who supposedly ‘discovered’ it.
When Columbus arrived there, he saw Africans, and reported it! Interesting I never knew columbus met blacks in America. |

Bulldozer90: the proponent of the bill is simply an anarchist. Using a bill to exhibit petty covetousness. Imagine forcefully carving some people and giving some chance to go whear they want, while using language as a criteria for southwest. If I were a Yoruba, I would have started condemning this. This bill will widely promote mistrust and suspicion against Yorubas from other Nigerians. He even put Itshekiri in the southwest. The same warri where the three warring ethnic groups have scattered settlement. The man is a complete bigot and anarchist this bill is definitely going no where. |

aceman88: Yoruba man and sense.
You proposed that Yoruba speaking part of Kwara and Kogi, and even some part of Delta and Edo state be merged with south west to form Western region.
But in the case of south east, you didn't propose that the Igbo speaking part of Rivers, Delta, Benue, Kogi, Cross River, etc be merged together to form South Eastern region, rather to show your true colour of hatred, you are proposing that the Ohaji/Egbema region, one of the oil producing LGAs in southern imo state be removed from South East to form part of Southern/Niger Delta region. Is it not shameless daylight witchcraft? Can u imagine the level of hatred these evil people have for igbos? They really don't wish the igbo nation well the first proposal is dead on arrival it will only cause more crises to the one already on ground. |

See how the yoruba man cunningly extracted some igbo communities in imo to add to another region he didn't even consider adding igbo speaking communities in the south south to the south east but added yoruba and sub yoruba communities in the south south and north central to the south west region in his first proposal. This is exactly what they have been wishing in their posts in this forum. |

Even as governor of Lagos, you expected him to be developing DELTA state?? Of course he is not the governor of delta but every sensible person already knows he has been behind the scenes playing dirty port politics that has made other ports in nigeria not to work effectively over the years. This escravos proposed deep sea port is a good opportunity for him to clear his name that he is actually not the one who is making lagos to be monopolising ports operations in nigeria. |

Politics › Re: President Misinformed You, No Agreement On New Minimum Wage Yet – NLC by Mrexcell(m): 11:58am On Jun 13, 2024 |
Adblg0610: What I think Tinubu intends to do is to decentralize the National minimum wage by transmitting an executive bill to the National Assembly. When the bill is passed and signed, each state will have the freedom to determine what it can afford to pay . This would naturally catch organized labour unawares but it would also end the seemingly endless agitation for a single National minimum wage. This should be the best option for now there are quite a lot of unproductive states in Nigeria that can't even pay #60k as minimum wage. |

If the nff don't sack him now nigeria will definitely not qualify for the world cup no amount of prayer can help nigeria at this point. Finidi has made it look as if nigeria don't have good local coaches who can coach the super eagles. |

They will begin to mention we have oil, we sell oil every day.
Sometimes they are mad and looking at me like unreasonable person.
They have be deceived and largely brainwashed by oppositions and some poor analysts who think speaking good English gives them authority in all fields The problem is actually govt officials that makes it looks like nigeria has excess money they do this by massive looting and paying themselves huge wages that their counterparts in other civilised rich countries don't even receive imagine the over #150m worth brand new prado jeep for each nass member tinibu approved recently and u expect the NLC to believe the govt that they can't really pay at least #100k minimum wage? |

Adding anioma state to the south east could have made more sense to me that's if the real anioma people agrees to it the current five eastern states is already geographically too small to create another state from the region and it's also going to potentially cause crises if proper consultation is not made with the communities included before creating the proposed orlu state |

Onovo3: In my view, this project if actually completed will compliment Lagos, by creating another industrial hub and modern city around Warri Environs. It will help in relieving congestion and job opportunities for our people. Beside in 2014 President Jonathan in 2014, went there to commission the Gas Revolutionary and Industrial Park. Warri, Port Harcourt and Uyo are in Strategic location that makes them appealing for massive industrial project, this is supported by the abundant amount of oil and gas in their environs.
I don't think anyone has to fear that the development of these areas would mean Lagos would collapse, rather they are suppose to work in synergy with Lagos. This is why the Coastal highway initiated by President Tinubu linking these cities is a welcome development, Does tinibu sincerely thinks like this? That's just the problem here lagos growth over the years has been heavily dependant on monopolising ports operations in nigeria and also collecting taxes from big companies nothing else I honestly don't think tinibu will ever allow this project to come to reality forget about all the hypocritical words he said in his broadcast yesterday of diversifying the nigerian economy away from oil. |

ShinnBet: IPOB is desperate for another instigated and provoked pogrom in the north specifically targeting Ibo people.
They are poking the northern hyenas because they want a mass reverse migration of Ibos back to the SE from where they assume Biafra can only happen if such mass exodus like that in 1967 is repeated.
So that's why you see IPOB going all out to target and kill northerners in their midst under the guise that they are killing Fulani bandits.. So u don't have data to watch the video to see all the dangerous items in the possession of those dangerous fulani jihadists? Is this how igbos prepare to come to the north to do their business? |
