Ngerian disc jockey, Catherine Obianuju Udeh aka DJ Switch who is said to be currently in asylum in a foreign country has declared herself a fugitive and asked Singer Peter Okoye to send her a gift as he plans to make giveaways, IgbereTV reports.

DJ Switch allegedly flyed out of Nigeria to seek asylum in a foreign country believed to be Canada, following allegations of death threats following the EndSARS protest.

The activist and disc jockey stated that she is no more working due to her situation and she is currently in exile, hence her inability to afford certain things.

IIn his usual manner of praising the entrepreneurial giant strides of Igbo people, Reno Omokri has claimed that about $4bn is being generated by Igbos in Alaba Market, Lagos State annually!

He also maintained that Alaba market generates more internal revenue than the 19 Northern states if combined. Reno now called for unity if they actually dream of getting Igbo presidency.

He further reitrated the fact that if Igbos unite politically, the way they unite economically, they wont need to beg for Igbo Presidency. It would be theirs easily!

To me, it’s not about getting a presidency. The tribalism is embedded the constitution, it’s in the little things like dispensing state allocation based on the number of local governments knowing fully well that the Eastern states have the lowest number of local governments


The Igbo’s are just tired and frustrated from being marginalized, let’s revisit the constitution and agree to decentralize the government, then they can begin to talk about other things.


Moreover, I think Reno overestimates the presidency of the poverty capital of the world. Yes, based on equity, an Igbo should be the next president. But what have other tribes benefited from the presidency? The best bet for Igbos is a restructured Nigeria, where merit rules the day.

Most of the politicians in Nigeria are into politics to enrich themselves and not to change the fortunes of Nigerians and develop the country. Truly, average Igbo businessman is rich and that’s why they don’t pay much attention to politics. It’s not really about unity but interest!

I decided to open a new account to post this, as I am posting this am holding tears back because am inside a bus from Lagos back to my base in Ogun state.

The last thing I want in my life is to be a public figure because am a strong introvert and I hardly go out, I just want to be left alone.

Now during this festive period I travelled to my home state and on getting home, everyone was just talking about my old song and they were disturbing me to freestyle for them.

Deep down this started making me feel like am not following my purpose in life, I started having this feeling that on my dying bed I will live to regret that I didnt following my music career and thinking about the number of people my music could have put smile on their faces. I will never forgive myself, because what is life when you cant use your talent to be of service to humanity.

When I see younger artiste like Omah lay, Bella schmurda, etc I start feeling jealous and envious and the last thing I want is to be envious of another man's success.


Now even though everywhere was a lively mood and everywhere bubbling in the studio. On going home I started becoming depressed looking at the amount of money I spent on recording ( I really wanted the best so I decided to work with an expensive professional sound engineer that worked on Wizkid made in lagos album.

I can't tell anybody about what I did because I will be mocked at home for spending such an amount on my useless music career(as they will say at home). Tears is beginning to roll down my eyes as I write this but fortunately everywhere is dark.

I am panicking and feeling the song will be wack when it comes out and am a good for nothing person. I can't hold back tears in the bus.

Lagos state needs to emulate this... with all the repeated cases of flooding in Lagos, one would think they would come up with significant (specific) projects to tackle the incessant flooding.

While littering may be an issue, it is not the sole cause of flooding in Lagos. There are NO flood drains, adequately constructed canals and proper drainages, and in a state where everyone sinks borehole (due to the Lagos water corporation's failure to provide drinkable water) and abandons surface water for daily consumption, the surface water level is bound to get higher.

I hope Sanwo-Olu commits to environmental management more cos if they allow things get out of hand, Lagos would keep getting worse.

Nigerian-British actor David Oyelowo and American media personality Oprah Winfrey will be producing Nigerian-American actress Yvonne Orji’s autobiographical comedy series First Gen, Igbere TV reports.

Yvonne revealed this by sharing post from Deadline magazine in an Instagram post on Wednesday.

She said five years after been told ‘No’ her series will finally be brought to life with Disney Plus.

In the article Yvonne shared, it says First Gen was wittern by Yvonne and tells the story of her personal experiences growing up as a Nigerian immigrant in America.

It said as a child Yvonne was caught between trying to honor her parents and culture while simultaneously trying to assimilate to American life.

Oyelowo will executive produce under his Yoruba Saxon Productions banner, with Winfrey and Carla Gardini executive producing for Harpo Films.

She won a Black Reel Award for her role as Molly.

Insecure also announced it will be coming on Wednesday after its fifth season.

The reality now is that NIMC is trying to circumvent the court judgement and in the process created more problems for the citizens.

The project was won by an indigenous consortium but some NIMC officials then went behind to cheat Chams by transferring the job to mastercard. Chams Plc got a court judgement against the exercise.
Chams Plc can still restrain NIMC once it is established that NIMC is using the model it submitted to it.



NIMC - Court Stops Issuing of National Identity Cards as Chams and CCL seek N114bn Damages




 

Mastercard and her agents have been told to stop issuing the National Identity card by Justice R.M. Aikawa of the Federal High Court in Lagos.

 

This order was made following an exparte motion filed by Chams Plc and Chams Consortium Limited (CCL) on August 28, 2019; versus Mastercard, NIMC and twenty-two (22) Banks.   

 

The exparte which also include an Anton Pillar order was issued on November 7, 2019.  In their Statement of Claim they are asking Mastercard to pay the sum of 114 billion naira (N114B) for damages.

 

Other defendants in the case include the President & Chief Executive Mastercard international, Ajay Banga; Country Representative of Mastercard in Nigeria, Omokehinde Ojomuyide; staff of Mastercard, Daniel Monehin; the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), and 22 commercial banks as respondents.

 

The order of the court states inter alia, "An order of interim injunction restraining the defendants, whether acting by themselves or by their directors, officers, servants, agents, technical managers, or otherwise however from further manufacturing, producing, designing and or printing or authorizing the manufacturing, production, designing and or printing of any National Identity Card with MasterCard logo as described in paragraph 16 of the supporting affidavit in Exhibit CC9 pending the determination of the motion on notice filed for hearing,"

 

Similar order was given to 22 respondent banks in Nigeria restraining them from honouring or giving effect to any transaction from Mastercard.

 

The Anton Pillar Order has empowered the prosecuting solicitor Kemi Pinheiro SAN of Pinheiro LP, Inspector General of Police (IG) or any senior police officer not below the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police to search any of their premises, take into possession and remove any document relating to the said affidavit.

 

They are also empowered to inspect, take pictures or arrest any body found to be contravening the orders of the court.

 

A breakdown of the Statement of Claim shows that 84 billion naira is for special damages as a result of loss of expected revenue for 8 years, 10 billion naira for general damages of fraud perpetrated jointly and severally against the claimants and 20 billion naira for inducing the breach and termination of the Concessions awarded to the Claimants by 3rd Defendant which occurred as a result of the 1st and 2nd Defendants' fraudulent actions.

 

It will be recalled that in 2006, Chams was invited by the Federal Government to bid for the National ID project.

 

It competed and emerged the preferred bidder for the Nigeria National Identity Card (NIC) concession.

 

Before and upon the execution of a concession agreement with the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), Chams Plc pursued the implementation of the NIC concession by incorporating ChamsConsortium Limited (CCL), a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) with the sole purpose of implementing the NIC concession.

 

Chams Plc also invited MasterCard to work with the ChamsConsortium as one of its technical partners on the NIC concession.

 

Surprisingly and to the disappointment of Chams and other stakeholders, MasterCard went on to collude with others using technical information and design shared with them by Chams to frustrate the concession won by Chams and the more than US$100m Chams/CCL invested in the project.

 

In an open letter published earlier in the year to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Chams PLC and CCL asked MasterCard to accept wrong doing, apologise for the breach of contract and pay compensation to CCL and Chams Plc for their more than US$100m Investment and accumulated losses.
