Make una advise me biko.

As funny as it may sound, as it stands now, JAJA CLINIC has scheduled me for the medical screening for 3 different dates.

On Wednesday, I got a message on whatsapp from a friend who informed me about the commencement of batching for admitted students for their medical screening. I proceeded to my jaja portal and saw that I have been scheduled for the 30th of April, 2018 which is ofcourse the following week of the official resumption date. I was filled with joy and elation as this will allow me settle other academic sortings and as well grant me a long time to process my X-ray because as at then, I haven't gone for my X-ray test (talk about procastination).

On Friday, two days ago, I went to the diagnostics centre I was scheduled to have my X-ray. It was smoothly conducted and I was asked to come back for the result the following day which was ofcourse on Saturday. I knew going on Saturday to request for the result was pointless as I am not in any hasty need of it (having in mind the date of my medical screening). I then settled to go for it on Monday (tomorrow).

Surprisingly, early this morning while I was still firmly stuck with my bed, I got a shocking message from JAJA CLINIC : "I should report for my medical screening tomorrow, I have been rescheduled." I went dumbstruck for some minutes thinking I just had a heart-attack. "Where do I get my X-ray result?" "Going to UI tomorrow was never something I wanted to do", different thoughts ran through my mind and I settled for going (as early as possible) to demand for my X-ray on Monday and then zoom off to UI immediately!

After I concluded, I decided to surf my JAJA profile to see if the change has been effected as they claimed in the content of the message I got. Shockingly, I have been truly rescheduled, but for Tuesday, a day that does not tally with what I got via message.

This was where the confusion set in. The thing is I am (presently) not so psychologically/physically fit to go for this medical screening for two different dates and see if I get attended to on any of them. I have very limited options now and here they are :

OPTION 1 : I act as if I didn't get nor was informed about the rescheduling of my medical screening and go on my earlier scheduled date with my previous printout.

OPTION 2 : I go as early as possible tomorrow to get my X-ray result and then zoom off to UI immediately for my medical screening. NOTE that :

*I won't be going with the print-out but the message I got (via phone).

*I will arrive at JAJA CLINIC late and will be delayed before I get to be attended to.

OPTION 3 : I go for my X-ray result tomorrow and then go for my medical screening on Tuesday alongside my newly printed schedule which clearly posted me for Tuesday.


Besides, Is there a way JAJA clinic confirms to see if you were truly scheduled for the day you come for your medical screening apart from the invitation print out you tender? (Questions for stalites, please).

The Admissions office will complete clearance of all candidates by Thursday, 19 April, 2018, and all students would have been allocated to halls by the afternoon of the following day Friday, 20 April, 2018.

BTW. . .You are a 400 level MBBS student in UI?

If you've not been cleared it may be due to
1. Your department, some departments were cleared late so there may be a harmless delay(at least I'm aware of history)
2. Your documents may not be in the right format, or may be in 2 combined formats e.g .PNG.jpg ( this was the cause of the delay in my sister's clearance)
Also, at the admission office I saw a list of reg numbers with issues concerning accessibility of their uploaded documents. My Sis's reg Num was there.

That's a very wrong move by UI though, how many of the students reside close to UI not to even think they will all be thoughtful of paying the admission office a visit. A list of such should be made available on their official website.

Nonetheless, can you please get to snap this list and upload on this platform so that those who are guilty of this can make quick corrections.

More to this is that we should even be careful of how we clamour for re-upload of documents, the previous one might just be perfect(but delayed before been attended to) and effecting any changes gets to destroy it all.

And yeah, no one fit lose admission again at this point. Worse Worse, dem go say make you come for physical clearance and do your thing.

At this point, if you are still uncleared, Mountain of Fire should be your destination.

Please do not do your x-ray elsewhere! We are strictly using the accredited hospitals/diagnostic centres in UI.

All fresh students offering science related courses have their lectures in a big lecture theatre, they call it CBN. That's the way it is for your first year.

Have you registered?

After registration, you get automatically scheduled for your X-ray at Jaja Clinic or one of those medical centres around UI. I don't know if they accept X-ray result from other unaccredited hospitals.

Why must the 'lady' present herself to the enquiry panel? A sane institution is expected to fairly evaluate the evidence, call the accused culprit and take the role of the prosecutor.

OK, let's assume a notorious cultist member deliberately kills a lecturer for some unknown reasons. Will the dead lecturer be expected tell his own story before OAU address the case if there are enough evidences?

It's lucidly apparent that the traditional protection of lecturers in face of undeniable offences is still prevalent in a top flight academic like OAU.

Only about two thirds of the newly admitted students who had accepted their admission have been cleared as of Thursday, 12 April 2018. The problems encountered are being sorted out and this stage will be concluded by middle of next week. It then became inevitable to postpone the resumption of new students by a week.

It seems you didn't get my point bro. I knew the emergency meeting was focused on the increment in clinical fees. What i was trying to depict from the post is that i just asked the Admission Officer if the accom fee can still be reviewed during the ongoing senate meeting while i was there cos it just skyrocketed from 14k to 30k which is although out of context .And he said hadn't been all new intakes refused to pay, it may have been reviewed and if eventually they table the matter, the balances for those who has paid won't be refunded. THIS WAS WHAT THE ADMISSION OFFICER SAID, NOT ME.
But from the VC's post, one can logically notice there's been an issue on that but so far 410 students have paid their accom fee within 24hrs the payment portal was launched, there nothing the Senate has to deliberate on again.

I knew it. That was exactly what an admissions officer told me this evening when I asked him if there's gonna be a possible reduction in the accom fee. He said if not for those who has hastily payed their accom fee, the Senate would have reduced it. But I can't blame them, it simply because they are tired of staying at home.

The accommodation fee increment is totally irreversible and was never an issue of discourse even in the senate meeting. These emergency meetings springing up is mainly for the outrageous increase in the clinical training fee.

Here is a quote from the earlier posted piece attributed to the VC by Mathefaro ::
