All you need is just the policeman's name tag and force number. Even if they're much, the details of just one of them is enough. Instead of coming to cry on Social media, the best way to handle this matter legally is this: 1. Snap clean, clear photographs of the dishevelled woman or possible injuries sustained. 2. Let the woman go to a government hospital and get a Medical report stating the extent of the injuries she suffered. 3. Obtain prescription for drugs to be taken to manage the injuries. 4. Sue the policeman for battery and claim that he is unfit for police job. Join the CP Ogun State that his men are acting out his instructions, join the AIG Zone 2 and add that he is unable to supervise his men appropriately. Finally add the IGP and claim 100M in damages. 5. Attach the photographs, the medical report and the prescriptions. 6. Be ready to call the doctors as witnesses. Actually, once doctors hear that you're a victim of police brutality, they would assist you to any lengths. 7. Sit back, relax and see the power of litigation in a uniformed man's career. * The police need to be sanitised and only the leadership can get this done effectively.* |
Under Buhari, security agencies are competing with each other as to who can be the most unprofessional. |
APC is losing Benue (if Ortom decamps), Kano and Kogi. Those supported by Buhari won elections in 2015. In 2019, those supported by Buhari would lose. |

Ortom should have sued the Police PRO for defamation and joined the the IGP for inability to control his officer. He should also join the Police Service Commision in the suit. Ortom should sue the PRO and apecifically ask that Mr. Jimoh Moshood the Force PRO is unsuitable to occupy a public office by virtue of his recent history. If that suit sails through, the PRO is finished. Anywhere he is promoted to or posted to, anyone can tackle him with a copy of the judgment. Even before that the PSC may retire him prematurely. Police officers right from the IGP down to the recruits in the Police Colleges must be compelled to act with civility, decorum and a sense of responsibility. |
enet1:Legally, there is no law that prohibits you from keeping even a billion Naira in cash at home. However, the problem is that our security agents would suspect that such funds are the proceeds of criminal activity or money laundering. Hence, if you have 1M and you're arrested, don't say it's proceeds of your business transaction. If you do, you're in trouble. Don't say anything until your lawyer is present. Section 1 subsection 1(a-b) of the Money Laundering (Prohibition) Act states that: (1) No person or body corporate shall make or accept cash payment of a sum exceeding- (a) N500,000 or its equivalent, in the case of an individual, or (b) N2,000,000.00 (Two million Naira) or its equivalent, in the case of a body corporate... |
GavelSlam:The achievements of Tinubu, Fashola and Ambode are that they built Eko Atlantic out of the Atlantic ocean. The achievements of Ibori, Udu and Okowa are that they bought flats in Eko Atlantic. |
Shukusheka:Leave your village and move to where civilised people are. Women in Special Protection Unit, Mobile Police, International Peace Keeping, SARS carry AK 47 rifles. |
pennywys:It is not every post you see that you must comment. Look at how you just disgraced yourself online and exposed your ridiculous reasoning. |
.Since the keeper is more interested in using his sharp reflexes to punch balls instead of gripping them firmly, they should send him for boxing training. Na rebound balls go kill that keeper |
Baba, speak up and stop dancing around issues. When the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria stipulated that Trustees of NGOs retire after 20 years, Pastor Adeoye didn't ask us to fast and pray. He came put straight and hammered the act of the FRCN as an affront on the church by the FG. The FG was forced to do the right thing. When Freeze started his stories, Pastor Adeboye didn't ask us to pray, he made his stand and position known. In Abuja, they killed Mrs. Dorcas an ordained RCCG Deaconess while preaching early in the morning and no single person was convicted. Not a single word was said from Pastor Adeboye. When he needed money for the new Auditoriums, did he pray to God for provision or he came out straight to tell us there was a need? Jesus Christ must really be proud of him. |

I'll love to know how much revenue Orijin alone brings as well as the percentage of their overall earnings Orijin sales constitute. |
bassey25:Okay, you want a sum equivalent to 28.5% of the 7M as agency fees? On top of that, you want 18.6% of the sponsor's land for yourself? Let me help you break down the implications of the above. Cost of the investment 7M + 2M = 9M 9M divided by 246 plots = N36, 585 per plot for 246 plots. After deducting the Agent's plots, cost per plot moves to 45k per plot for 200 plots. Sponsor's lawyer cones in and charges 10% of 9M = 9,900,000 ÷ 200 plots = 49,500 per plot. Sponsor's lawyer demands 10% of the land = 24 plots (lawyer would remove from the entire 246 plots) leaves the sponsor with 176 plots at 56,250 per plot. If that land has not yet been cut into plots and portions for road earmarked, the sponsor would lose one plot per acre for roads. 176plots = 29 Acres. Means 29 plots go for roads. 176 - 29 plots = 147 plots at 67,346 per plot. Bro, the investor pays 7M to the family, pays 2M to you, gives you 46 plots and gets 176 plots for all the above. Nothing is cast in stone. So when an investor comes and comes with his lawyer and breaks it down for you like this, you gotta lower your requests and fee. Hope you can see how things work in sponsorship, not the one you posted above making everything look like it's renting a duplex or buying a house. |
kingreign:Ha! You too? Truly, Olympus has fallen. |
In Liberia, someone from Jamaica wasn't made the first lady because she's a Jamaican. In Nigeria, a Fulani man from Chad whose wife is from Morocco was appointed the head of Nigeria's Intelligence Agency. |
ScorpioMoon:Lol See this guy, Akwa Ibom of all states? A state where they persecute child witches and the Government looks the other way. The present Akwa Ibom Governor nearly died in a building collapse incident and the entire state couldn't investigate the incident. Are you aware that the incident holds the record for the highest number of casualties in a single construction accident. Now, it's those who can't build on land that you want to build on water? Akwa Ibom has so much potentials but it's unfortunate it's turned out this way. As for the other states, most of them are worse than Akwa Ibom. Zero plans for mass housing. |
emma321:Not Saraki's constituency. Notwithstanding, Saraki ruled that place for 8 years. |
Eeya, the Excos of that association are about to enter prison and they don't even know. Section 12(4) of the Trade Unions Act states that "Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in this Act, membership of a trade union by employees shall be voluntary and no employee shall be forced to join any trade union or be victimised for refusing to join or remain a member." OP, the day they seize anything from your shop, go and report to the police that they came to your shop with dangerous items, threatened to kill you if you stood in their way and made away with your cameras, various items and a heavy sum of money. My brother, God has picked your call. Not only would the court jail the miscreants for armed robbery, you'll still sue them for assault, battery, trespass, malicious damage and every tortuous remedy and collect millions in damages. Lalasticlala, Dominique, Obinoscopy, pls let more people see this and learn. |
BarryX:Go and look in the mirror, your answer lies there. |
letusbepieces:This is the law, the better lawyers win. If you like, go and obtain one London-used judgement from Bakassi, Okrika or Ambazonia, na you sabi. On appeal, it would be thrown out like bath water. |
Ishilove:Tonto wants the money but wants to shut out the source of the money. Ironically, even if the court is to make an order for an allowance to be paid Tonto for Andre's upkeep, it would be one ridiculous amount. This is Nigeria, the rules are quite different from what we watch on TV. |
Let her feature her own family members let's see how she was before Churchill upgraded her. |
bigtt76:Okay. I think you need to understand something. In Law, there's something called legal personality. Zenith Bank, Zenith Insurance, Zenith Pensions, Zenith Capital, Civic Properties Ltd are all separate legal entities with legal personalities distinct from each other. Each one has the ability to own assets, liabilities, declare losses and profits independent of each other. In the eyes of the law, they're separate legal personalities different from each other. Hence, the properties owned by Zenith Insurance would reflect in its asset base and not that of Zenith Bank or Zenith Capital. What could have happened is that Jim Ovia (as an independent legal entity) took a loan from Zenith Bank to finance he building of Civic Towers. Upon completion, he took in Zenith Bank, Zenith Capital, Zenith Pensions, Deloitte, etc as tenants all paying rent to him while he finances his loan obligations to Zenith Bank. The loan to Jim is an asset to Zenith Bank, Civic Towers is an asset to Jim, while the loan is his liability to the bank. The Civic Towers you're talking about is an asset which would not reflect in the asset base of Zenith Bank even if they both are owned by the same person. As for Ecobank, they got incompetent lawyers and auditors who did a shoddy job before buying Oceanic. I strongly suspect they were aware but were either paid or threatened by the powers that be to keep shut. If the information they got leaked out, the deal would collapse and no subsequent investor would touch Ecobank with a long stick. I don't know if I explained it enough. |
Keneking:Which work you dey do? You that Nairaland is your office. |
BarryX:You talk down your own thing because you want to look sensible but you end up disgracing yourself before outsiders. We have marathons in London, Paris, Rome, Lisbon, Berlin, Athens, Tuscany, etc and you're here making noise. Which stress level is increasing? Since all these days there wasn't traffic diversion, how much have you made? If you don't want stress, travel to your village and come back after the marathon. |
Very soon, the tables would turn. We'll all see if one tribe can subdue all others. |
bigtt76:Are you sure about this? I actually have been involved in several real estate transactions involving several banks and I've never seen transfer documents bearing the names of the Chairmen or owners. Also, if you know lawyers involved in legal audit of banks every year, they'll tell you that what you posted is an exception rather than the norm. |
Uyiii:Judas dey Federal SARS. |
bigtt76:You think the assets reflecting in the Bank books are printers, calculators and cello tapes? Your assertion holds true for tier 3 banks and glorified Microfinance banks like Jaiz Bank. Major Banks buy real estate to increase their asset base. |
delzbaba:Do you know how many fulani sponsors own houses in Ikoyi and Victoria Island? Keep deluding yourself and waiting for others to provide solutions to your problems. FYI, after Benue is SE and I expect ALL eastern Governors to be proactive. The madness must stop. |
