BENUE PDP GUBER ASPIRANTS UNITE TO RESCUE PARTY FROM HIJACKERS, WARN AGAINST ANY TAMPERING WITH EXISTING STRUCTURES

Yesterday in Abuja, 12 governorship aspirants of the PDP in Benue State came together to rescue the party from joiners who have come with an evil agenda to hijack the party.

The 12 aspirants held top level meetings with national leaders of the party, including Rt. Hon. Gabriel Torwua Suswam, Dr. Iyorchia Ayu and Distinguished Senator David Mark, which lasted well into the early hours of this morning.

Their message to the leaders at the meetings was simply that if the party is allowed to fall into the hands of hijackers who have come with huge quantities of stolen public funds, then the party should forget the 2019 elections in the state

The aspirants equally demanded that the party should keep its promise to give them a level playing field by conducting free and fair primaries, and they also pledged to work together with anyone among them, the 12, who will emerge through such a transparent primaries.

They also warned that tampering with existing structures of the party under any power sharing formula of 60/40 or 50/50 or even any percentages will be a violation of the party's constitution and an illegality which will pave the way for court cases and could be challenged in court.

They pointed out that they have worked tirelessly to rebuild the party since 2015 when it lost elections and they vowed that they will not leave the party but stay to fight to rescue it from joiners who do not mean well for the party and the people of the state.

The aspirants who are under the leadership of Prof. David Ker warned that anything short of a level playing field will be totally unacceptable to them and their teeming supporters in the party as they deserve free and fair primaries as a right and not a privilege.

The 12 aspirants are;

Prof. David Ker, OON

Politics / Benue Killings: Gov. Fayose Visits Benue, Donates #10m And Relief Materials by mrnelson1994(m): 4:18pm On Feb 08, 2018
Gov. Fayose visits benue state:

Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose says the blood of the slain victims of herdsmen attacks on Benue communities would rise and fight both the attackers and their sponsors.

He made the remark this afternoon during a visit to the mass graves of the martyrs of the Open Grazing Prohibition and Ranches Establishment Law enacted by the Ortom administration as the global best solution to clashes between herdsmen and farmers in Benue and Nigeria .

"I'm here to identify with you whether I'm here or not. Your people are my people and are known to be farmers.
The Benue people are known to be travellers who have travelled very far and wide and and above all, you are known as peace lovers.
Let me say, this is an act of ethnic cleansing but they will fail.
You have suffered as a people as you die like cows, but I want to assure you that God has come to answer you.
If a government has said it has passed a law against terrorism, this is terrorism and I want to tell this government to stop operating a double standard.
Let me tell you, nobody has the right to take away the powers given to you by God. You are given the powers to enact laws to protect your people and you have demonstrated it. Don't be intimidated by anyone.
I have watched your Governor very closely and I have seen the determination in him.
They have AK-47 as cattle rearers with a branded marks either that of the police, the military or civil defence. My question is who armed them with this sophisticated weapons?
I advise and encourage you to defend and be ready to die for this law you have enacted.
If you enter a vehicle and it got broke on the way, please, come out and bold another vehicle and you will certainly reach the destination".

Governor Fayose gave relief materials and 10million naira to the governor of Benue state for the Idps camps in the state.

Under Threat for Hosting Mass Burial, Benue APC Leaders Search for New Political Platform

January 28, 2018

Thisday

Bimbo Akosile

Leaders of the All Progressives Congress in Benue State led by Governor Samuel Ortom are in search of a new political platform ahead of the 2019 general election following threats from Abuja that Ortom could be denied the party’s ticket for hosting a mass burial for victims of herdsmen attack, THISDAY has learnt.

A deadly attack launched by herdsmen on New Year’s Day had claimed 73 lives in Guma and Logo local government areas of Benue, plunging the state into grief. The state government later announced its plans to hold mass burial for all the victims in the state capital.

Worried by the security implication of holding such mass burial and the negative publicity it could generate for the Buhari administration, THISDAY gathered that the presidency dispatched top security chiefs and political advisers to the state to persuade the governor to shelve the idea with a warning that conducting such a burial could lead to reprisal attacks in other parts of the country. A few of his governor colleagues were also mandated to convince him to heed the plea of the presidency.

But Hon Samuel Ortom, who had accused the federal government of failing the Benue people by not providing security despite his warnings of an impending attack, with the support of the leaders of the state, proceeded with the burial to national and international acclaim.

Images of the mass burial held at IBB Square in Makurdi showed trucks conveying the remains of the victims to the venue with the grisly sight of sobbing relatives and mourners trending on the social media for days. This sent signals of the unspoken calamity of the herdsmen attack and brought the reality to scores.

The presidency, THISDAY learnt, was jolted by the refusal of Governor Samuel Ortom to heed its appeal to shelve plans to hold the mass burial for the victims of the deadly attacks.

Other remarks credited to the governor on how the attack could have been averted were also said to have unsettled APC leaders in Abuja.

Governor Ortom had during a visit to the state by a delegation from the National Assembly said that he alerted President Muhammadu Buhari, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and the Inspector-General of Police Ibrahim Idris to the plot to launch attacks on the state over the promulgation of an anti-open grazing law.

Vice President Osinbajo was forced by the claim to issue a statement denying being told by the governor about any impending attack on any specific part of the state.

Though a party delegation was led to the mass burial by the APC National Chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, THISDAY gathered that hawks within the presidency and the party had resolved to deny the governor the party’s ticket in 2019 governorship election.

Ortom, a first term governor, is expected to seek reelection. Party primaries are due to hold later this year.

A close friend of the governor, who pleaded not to be named, said Ortom had been under serious threat since the mass burial was held for the victims of the attack.

The source however said that the governor was unperturbed by the threat as leaders of the party in the state were behind him in every step he took on the deadly incident.

The governor and the leaders of the party in the state are however not leaving things to chance as they are already searching for alternative political platform should Abuja make good its threat to deny the governor ticket.

What the governor also has going for him is that the attacks have now united the Benue people, irrespective of political persuasion.

“Ortom has been under threat from Abuja since he hosted the mass burial, but I can tell you that he has said he would not betray his people for any ticket,” the governor’s friend said.

“The governor has sent a message to Abuja that they should realise that nobody has won the presidency in Nigeria without Benue State since the Shehu Shagari regime".

PRESS RELEASE

27th January, 2018

DEFENCE MINISTER MANSUR IS A DISGRACE TO DEMOCRACY, WE DEMAND HIS RESIGNATION -BENUE APC

The Benue State Working Committee of our great party, All Progressives Congress led by the Chairman, Hon. Prince Emmanuel Abba Yaro, hereby states categorically that we read with utmost disgust the frivolous statement credited to the 'supposed honourable' Minister of Defence, Col. Mansur Muhammad Dan Ali where he reportedly told Nigerians and other members of the public that the attack on two communities in Benue that led to the death of over 70 innocent people and destruction of properties worth millions of Naira was as a result of the open grazing prohibition law enacted by the State Government.

While we are still bewildered if the said statement truly emanated from the Zamfara born retired Military Colonel serving as our 'supposed Defence Minister', we consider this statement as a flatly ridiculous absurdity, and the highest level of public disgrace to democracy and the Nigerian populace.

By this singular utterance, the Minister of Defence, Col. Muhammad Mansur Dan Ali (rtd) has inarguably displayed incontestable lack of the required sensibility and capacity to serve as Defence Minister in a country of over 180 million people with over 300 ethnic nationalities.

We have therefore been constrained to believe that Mr. Mansur is a component unit of the perceived conspiracy against the good and hospitably peace loving people of Benue State.

As an integral part of the country, Nigeria and as a State that gave President Muhammadu Buhari an edge in the 2015 general elections, we demand that Col. Mansur Dan Ali (rtd) resigns his position as Nigeria's Defence Minister immediately and tender an unreserved apology to the good people of Benue State and the country at large.

As a founding member and major stakeholder in our ruling party, the APC, we are forced to question Col. Mansur's real motive and demand that he publicly explains to the party leadership why we should not conside his reckless utterances as a deliberate ploy to truncate the party's victory in the 2019 general election. Through his statement, as an insider, Mansur appears to have been contracted by the opposition to work against the APC.

In as much as we would not dignify Col. Mansur with obnoxious affronts, we would again want to inform him that he is not just an ingrate, but an unrepentant pathological opportunist who was in his farm working for the PDP when many of us toiled the nooks and crannies of this country to ensure victory for President Muhammadu Buhari in the election that brought him (Buhari) to power through which he (Mansur) is one of the biggest beneficiaries.

As someone who read Photography in the polytechnic and later took to animal husbandry with flocks of cows to his credit in his Zamfara country home, we urge our President, Muhammadu Buhari GCFR, to aid Col. Mansur's timely resignation and return him to his farm with a Xenon HD Camera to continue taking snapshots of his flock of herds back home.

Minister Mansur apparently is one of those who are working against the unity of Nigeria and must be stopped now before he and others with such parochial, hateful, divisive and repulsive tendencies plunge the country into deeper crisis.

We once again declare our staunch support for our dear Governor, Dr. Samuel Ortom, and herein reiterate our commitment towards making the open grazing prohibition law our number one priority in the State.

Signed:
Comrade Apeh Peterhot
Director of Publicity,
APC Benue State.

Politics / Gov. Ortom Blasts Defence Minister Over Herdsmen Attacks. by mrnelson1994(m): 3:17pm On Jan 26, 2018

Updated January 26, 2018

...Says Benue Grazing Law Is Working, 16 Herdsmen Arraigned.

The Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom has criticised the Minister of Defence, Mansur Dan Ali for comments allegedly made by him where he blamed the herdsmen killings in Benue on the implementation of the anti- grazing law 2017.

Ortom described it as rather unfortunate, adding that if an Honourable Minister could make such comments then there may be no end in sight and justice for victims of herdsmen attacks.

Dan-Ali was said to have made the comments at the end of a meeting of the National Security Council presided over by President Muhamamdu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

He said the recent killings formed part of discussions at the meeting and that the proposed National Commission on Proliferation of Arms was one of the steps being taken by the Federal Government to tackle the violence.

In response, Governor Ortom said: “Well, it is unfortunate but I want to console myself that this thing is not coming from the Honourable Minister, but if it did, I will say that it is very unfortunate. The solution to the security challenges we have in this country is not in sight having those kind of people in power who are not able to give quality advice and to also proffer solutions to the security problems we have here.

“Take for instance, if you say it is because of the law that killings by herdsmen are going on in Benue, is there any law prohibiting open grazing in Adamawa State? Is there any law in Plateau State? Is there any law in Kaduna, Ondo, Bayelsa, Imo, Ebonyi, Delta or Edo States? In Edo state, cattle have taken over even schools,” the governor stated.

He made this known on Friday while also responding to comments by the Department of State Services which blamed the Islamic State for the genocide.

“The other day, a report came from DSS that the ISIS Terrorist Group Organisation is taking over and I also heard that the minister was quoted as saying we should accommodate foreigners; foreigners who come here illegally should be accommodated? So if a minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria is coming out to encourage our citizens to do illegal things, I now begin to see why they have given immunity that is the prerogative of the President and the Vice President, Governors and Deputy Governors to herdsmen who kill and even cattle”.

“Cattle in Nigeria have immunity more than human beings. This is unfortunate and I look forward that he will apologise to us and retract what he said because it is an insult on our collective leadership. It is wrong and let the minister know that,” he stated.

Politics / Herdsmen Killings: We Are Ready To Fight Fulani, Spill Our Blood-benue Youths by mrnelson1994(m): 10:58pm On Jan 22, 2018
dailypost.ng Jan 22, 2018 9:11 AM

Youth groups in the Middle Belt have declared war on the rampaging Fulani herdsmen, saying they have signed their death warrant.

The National Council of Tiv Youths, NCTY, and the Middle Belt Youths Council, MBYC, have stepped out to defend their region.

In s separate interview with the Punch, the youths said they will no longer fold their arms and watch their people being slaughtered by the cattle herders.

The President of the National Council of Tiv Youths, Dr. John Akperashi, said his members had decided to die while making sure further attacks by the dreaded herdsmen do not happen.

He said, “The battle line has been drawn. The youths in the Middle Belt are ready and have agreed to rise up in unison to reject the Federal Government time bomb dressed in white robes.

“The Tiv youths particularly are pushed to the wall now and have collectively signed their death warrants, ready to pay the supreme price if that would count, to sustain and protect our lands from any form of colonisation, be it cattle, human or both.”

Also, the President, Middle Belt Youth Council, who is also the youth leader of the Middle Belt Forum, Emma Zopmal, noted that by its inaction, the Federal Government was telling the Middle Belt youths to resort to self-help.

He said, “We cannot sit and watch this manslaughter on a daily basis. Life does not have a duplicate and it should not be allowed to be wasted needlessly all the time. The days of mourning will soon be over in the Middle Belt.

“The Fulani are only 4 .7 million in Nigeria. How then can they continue being a threat to the whole nation of more than 160 million people that are not Fulani? Enough is enough; we are now poised for war"
Politics / Why Northern Governors Visited Benue State by mrnelson1994(m): 10:40pm On Jan 19, 2018
By Terhemen Nelson

The altitude of Nigerian politicians towards politics and interest is so disheartening and shameful since they care less even when blood is involved is thing that demand spiritual cleansing of the land. The behavior of the Governor’s that visited Benue was more like the behavior of herdsmen in the jungle. Is now 19 days after the Fulani herdsmen massacred over 73 Benue citizens who were sleeping innocently right in their ancestral homes. Their burial spark national condemnation with individuals and institutions calling on the Chief herdsman, president Buhari to arrest this situation before it divides the entire nation.

Benue State is categorized as a Northern state a situation which has been like this since the creation of the state. Politically and otherwise Benue align more to the North than any other geopolitical zone of the country. Even though the Hausa/Fulani dominance will not allow the state to have its needed attention looking at the poor nature of federal roads in the state, no federal attention, only to use Benue's numerical strength during elections and dump them.

Having failed Benue in many other areas of development, it is expected that whatever happens to Benue, particularly a time like this when the entire state is mourning, northern elements should at least associate with us now that our brothers and sisters were innocently killed by Fulani herdsmen who their kinsmen but they failed us. No northerner (Hausa/Fulani) came out to condemn this attacks rather they choosed to be silent.

Even Northern Governors Forum, a group Governor Ortom is a member abandoned Benue in her trying moment. Is close to three weeks since the massacre took place but none of the Governor’s in the North visited the state to commiserate with the Governor over the killings. Only for them to appear today simply because Afenifere and Ohanaeze Idigbo were in the State to commiserate and condemn the killings and they want to be smart.

First they are here for political reasons and not to commiserate with the people of Benue. They are scared they might lose Benue come 2019 hence the need to visit and spend less than 30 minutes. Secondly, because the image of President Muhammadu Buhari who is also a Fulani man is badly damaged because of the activities of his kinsmen hence the need to quickly fix things before the next general election. I strongly believe Buhari and Aba Kyari asked them to visit Benue.

It will surprise you to know that the meeting with the Governor of Benue State lasted for just 28 minutes with nothing meaningful to tell Benue people. Instead of answering questions asked by the reporters during press interview, the Governor of Borno state who is the Chairman of Northern Governors Forum was busy insulting the delegation from the south and west arguing that most of them are old generation politicians.

According to him such people have nothing to offer the country, it is people like him(Shetima) and Ortom who are in their early 50s that can find solution to the problems facing Nigeria. Ironically, the old politicians behaved and acted smarter than the young ones exception of the powerful Samuel Ortom.

In the 28 minutes meeting, Governor Shetima spoke for 12 minutes and could only reiterate what president Buhari said in Abuja few days ago when he said Ortom should "please and please accommodate his country men" (that is herdsmen). This time the Hausa/Fulani politicians through Shetima could only call for the Unity of the country. Governor Ortom who is always doing the will of his people told the Governor's that RANCHING is the way forward and nothing more.

The drama that took place in front of camera made the Governor’s to abandon the interview when a reporter asked that why they just visiting now after three weeks of the attack. While Governor El-Rufai was itching and hoping the question was directed at him so him can continue with his arrogance, it was unfortunate that Gov Shetima couldn't say a word

Politics / Taraba Begins Recruitment, Training Of Anti-headsmen Marshals by mrnelson1994(m): 7:06pm On Jan 19, 2018
By Nelson Terhemen

Taraba state government is set to commence training of over 1000 ‘Special Anti-open Grazing Marshals’ this Saturday, investigations have revealed.

Despite protests, the state government had gone ahead to recruit some youths who will enforce the anti-grazing law in all the local governments areas of the state.

The state governor, Darius Ishaku, had earlier said the state had no land for cattle colonies as proposed by the Federal Government.

Mr Ishaku, however, declared that the implementation of the law in the state would take effect from January 2018.

DAILY NIGERIAN learnt that if implemented, the cattle ranching law will compel cow owners to buy land for the ranches for their livestock.

An insider also confirmed that the Marshals, who will operate in each ward across the 16 local government areas, will be trained by retired security personnel including ex-soldiers at NYSC camp, along Wukari road.

The source added that 680 more personnel will be recruited soon.

“We have 168 wards and in each ward 10 Marshals were recruited across 16 local governments,” said a top government official who doesn’t want to be named.

While reacting, the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, MACBAN, rejected the recruitment and training of the Marshals describing it as “calculated and deliberate attempt to attack Fulani nomads.

The Chairman of the association, Sahabi Tukur, while describing the law as ill intended, discriminatory and misplaced priority, said if implemented, the law may cause uneasy and another round of crisis.

Mr Tukur noted that the essence of government is to protect the lives and property of its citizens irrespective of creed, ethnic, geographical or regional inclination before any consideration.

“However, going through the law and even hurriedly recruiting these ethnic militias to attack Fulanis under the guise of Marshals, we can clearly pick holes that are capable of undermining the essence of government as provided for by the Nigerian constitution.

“We keep telling the government that we will continue to challenge the impunity and no amount of threat will frighten us.

“We will however continue to be law abiding citizens and everybody knows that supremacy of Nigerian constitution has superseded any law enacted by states,” he emphasized..

However, the state governor, who spoke through his Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Bala Abu, challenged the group to come out with evidence showing clearly how the governor is training ethnic militia against the Fulani.

“We are aware of their plot to stop the implementation of the Taraba State Open Grazing Prohibition Law which is due to commence soon, but the governor won’t be deterred in his quest to bring peace to the state,” the governor’s SSA said.

When contacted on the veracity of the alleged recruitment of the marshals, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Public Affairs, Emmanuel Bello, said: “All I can say is that machinery is put in place for the smooth implementation of the law"

Politics / Sule Lamido: "Buhari Hated Yar'adua; How He Treated Him" by mrnelson1994(m): 3:36pm On Jan 19, 2018
Lies, propaganda defined 2015 elections —Lamido

Lamido, who accused the APC administration of lying itself to power, also took a swipe at the President, describing him as “intolerant and vengeful.”

Speaking directly to the President, Lamido said: “If you destroy too much, one day you will also lead. Mr President, I am sure when you were coming here, you saw fuel queues everywhere. You are the Minister of Petroleum. When are you going to demonstrate and go on strike?

“Typical of you, APC, you have not been able to metamorphose from an opposition party to a party in government. Same old rhetorics. More blame games, more problems. Telling lies, that is what you are, your party, not you as a person.

“The election in 2007 was among three northerners who are Fulani. Gen. Buhari, Atiku Abubakar and Umaru Musa Yar’Adua. We are talking about tolerance and making sacrifices, which you (Buhari) tried to allude to.

‘’After the elections, PDP with about 27 governors and a number of local governments in Nigeria won the elections. The two other northerners went to the tribunal and lost; went up to the Supreme Court and lost.

“If you go by their pedigree, and again I mean no offence, Yar’Adua was the most qualified democrat among them. He was a northerner, a Fulani like them. He was not Ijaw. He was not Jonathan, but even at that, they never forgave Yar’Adua up till when he died.

Council of State meeting

‘’For the over two years that Yar’Adua was president, Gen. Buhari never attended the Council of State meeting. When Yar’Adua became sick, the pressure and harassment he went through in the National Assembly, some of us stood by him but we were not being seen as northerners or PDP.

‘’When God took him, the first (Council of State) meeting that the then President Jonathan called, the first to be there was Gen. Buhari. It says so much about tolerance. It says so much about vendetta. It says so much about hate.

“Thereafter in the PDP, somehow, Jonathan ran in 2011 and those who are now preaching tolerance were not tolerant. He (Buhari) refused to concede and in the north, people like us were villified and blackmailed. I was called a ‘pastor’, a preacher because I had a contrary opinion.

“APC is telling us what government should do after three years in power. APC should tell us what they have failed to do.”

APC ABANDONS BENUE: SAYS BUHARI HAS NOT GIVEN THE GO-AHEAD

By Nelson Terhemen

Information reaching us indicates that the National caretacker committee of APC, headed by Hon Oyegun, will not be able to visit Benue state to commiserate with the people over the wanton killings by Fulani herdsmen.

This is coming at a time when the state is in need of relief materials to salvage the poor condition of Benue citizens taken refuge at several IDP camps around the state.

The National Exco of the APC has turned a blank eye on several request by the state chapter of the APC to visit the internally displaced persons.

This morning the Newly Elected National Exco of the people's Oriented party PDP under the leadership of Prince Uche Secondu and the State Exco of the same party Sir John Ngbede paid a visit to the state emergency Agency, donating items worth millions.

News has it that the National chairman of APC is also angry at the way Benue people spoke, casting aspersions at the ruling party during the burial of their fallen citizens.

Discussions are on way by APC heavy Weights from Benue, begging the national exco to clear the show of shame inflicted on them.

“Distinguished colleagues, you will agree with me that even more sober reflection attends the killings in some parts of the country, particularly recent tragic events in Benue State”. -Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki.

“We condemn these killings in the strongest terms and we declare that mindless bloodletting has no place in our society. I offer our sincerest condolences to the people of Benue and indeed to all who have suffered the loss of their loved ones as a result of these wanton acts”.- Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki.

“The 8th Senate has continued its historic run, because by the end of 2017, we had passed 140 Bills over a period of 30 months. The landmark Economic Bills we passed helped to propel the country’s emergence from recession, powering us upwards in the Ease of Doing Business Report. While the legislative feats of the year gone by shall go down in the annals of lawmaking in this country, what is also true is that we cannot lose momentum, nor can we afford to rest on our oars”.-Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki.

Politics / Benue Massacre: Shehu Sani Blasts Benue Elders For Visiting Buhari by mrnelson1994(m): 11:07pm On Jan 16, 2018
By Nelson Terhemen

Senator representing Kaduna Central Senatorial district, Shehu Sani has lampooned Benue elders for visiting President Muhammadu Buhari at Aso Villa over herdsmen killings in Benue.

In his contribution at the plenary on Tuesday, he blamed the elders saying, President Buhari ought to have visited Benue State over the incident during which the State lost over 73 indegenes and not otherwise.

“As regards to the crisis where over 73 lives were lost in Benue, it is enough for Aso Rock to travel to the scene of the crisis, not Benue elders coming to Aso Rock. To do what?”, he quipped.

The lawmaker added that politicians and leaders who have 2019 on their mind do not tell Mr. President the truth.

He was emphatic that some Senators out of 109 of them were hiding the truth, a situation he posited, did not augur well for the nation.

Sani further stressed that the three arms of government were not living up to their expectations.

“Mr. President, distinguished colleagues, the executive, legislature and judicial arms of government are not living up to expectations, particularly as to the oat of the office regarding the protection of lives and property of the citizens of this country”, he said.

“When people are being killed in Benue State, we are here hiding the truth to please Mr. President,” he added.

He chided governors that endorsed President Muhammadu Buhari at a time Nigerians were mourning the loss of their loved ones, adding that their intentions were evil.

“The leaders are supposed to find the way out to secure the lives and property of Benue State; some are busy endorsing President Muhammadu Buhari for second term in office, which is barbaric”, he said.

“I wonder if indeed we would genuinely admit that the inscription above the seat of Senate President that reads ‘Unity, Faith, Peace and Progress’ is being witnessed in Nigeria today,” he added.

Politics / Re: They Sponsored Protests Against Jonathan,why Can't I Protest With 2face?- Fayose by mrnelson1994(m): 3:36pm On Feb 03, 2017
[quote author=Babacele post=53336078] nwanem I go speak when I still have my voice and the energy. ....you would agree with me that we sent GEJ and his fraudulent team packing in 2015 because we can no longer trust their capability and integrity to manage the nation especially when he mismanaged an abundant goodwill, proceeds of $100/barrel oil sales, encouraged unprecedented plundering of our national purse ,sabotaged our military and national security , encouraged terrorism and several sins too numerous to mention.

Then came GMB who is more disciplined ,exposed ,educated , firm and parades the cleanest docket as Nigerian ex-head of state. As a young handsome military officer, GMB who supervised the birth of a large chunk of the oil facilities in Nigeria didn't help himself to our commonwealth. if he had, like other ex-heads of states who would have asked him? This is fundamental.
May be you don't know that a kastinawa who wrote a school certificate exam supervised by the Cambridge- the predecessor of WAEC- and who went for several military courses all over the world and coyrtesy Nigeria Defence Academy n who later earned his generalship in the army; head several national posts ,duties, expeditions, community developments is more educated and cosmopolitan than a clueless boy from Otuoke who went to University of Portharcourt, served in Oyo state , parades a questionable PhD and had had risen from the position of a deputy governor to a disastrous presidency . don't even go there! If GEJ and co had performed, what is PMB doing in government instead of enjoying his retirement? Maybe you can tell us why we should stop talking about an old team who squandered yesterday and is quick to shout blue murder when the new spirit is more sincerely looking for solutions to our problems? No ,such persons can't arrogantly tell us what to do when they caused the problem we are addressing. A protest that allows a rogue like Fayose to flaunt his filthiness can't be genuine.

I thank 2baba as EIE has answered Fayose that he is part of the problems being protested against. A rogue who got bail out, federal allocations and monthly IGR but refuses to pay workers has no moral right to protest against a better manager like GMB. My major grouse with PMB,though human, is that he is too nice to yester-thieves. [/quoteShagari was in office from 1979 to 1983. They say his government looted the national treasury. Things were not so good but Nigeria did not go into an economic recession. Then Buhari came as military Head of State and was in office from 1983 to 1985. They say he did not loot. But during his time in office, Nigeria fell into a deep economic recession. Then came Babangida. They say he looted Nigeria from 1985 to 1993. Yet there was no economic recession. After Babangida came Shonekan and Abacha from 1993 to 1998. Abacha was also said to have looted the treasury. In fact, his loot stashed abroad is still being recovered till today. Yet there was still no economic recession. From 1998 to 2015, we have had Abdulsalami, Obasanjo, Yar'Adua and Jonathan. All administrations were accused of looting the treasury. Still there was no recession. Now Buhari is back and we are once again in a recession and you say "LOOTING" of the Jonathan years is the cause? Are we okay
Do u need a prophet to tell u that this pmb is a proven failure?
