The Lagos State Police Command yesterday
rescinded its threat to stop the anti-government
protest slated for Monday by pop star 2Face,
The Nation reports.

The two sides met yesterday and resolved to
modify their hard line positions, according to
Police Commissioner Fatai Owoseni.

Owoseni explained that the police were
concerned about the safety of residents of
Lagos , including the protesters and would not
want anything untoward to happen to them.

He said: “We had a meeting with the protesters
and we explained to them why we advised
against the protest. A pro-government group
wants to protest that same day and we don’t
want a situation where there would be friction.

“We also don’t want hooligans to hijack the
process and injure the protesters.

“ After explaining to them, they said they will go
back and discuss with others. They said if they
decide to go ahead, they won’t demonstrate
but would assemble at a point and read their
demands.

“That notwithstanding, we have resolved to
provide security for them. It is our responsibility
and we won’t shy away from it. We will ensure
trouble makers do not hijack the process.”

The Presidency also declared that it has
nothing against the protest and that Tuface
and other Nigerians are entitled to express
themselves in peaceful protests.

The Senior Special Assistant on Media and
Publicity to Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, Mr.
Laolu Akande said on his Twitter handle that
the Buhari Administration ”will not prevent
Nigerians from expressing themselves in
peaceful protests, it’s a fundamental right of
the people.”

He added: “No govt has ever laid out the kind
of Social Investment Prog, the Buhari govt is
now running across the nation, that will touch
millions.”

Anita Joseph has said she is more mature and
wiser now and grown past the level of showing
her nu.dity all in the name of being beautiful,
hence she is stopping.

She disclosed this to Sunday Scoop saying;

“This is 2017; the time of
unclothedness has passed. I must not
always show my body to be
beautiful. I am growing up and
becoming more mature. A lot of
things will be changing about me
this year. For my birthday, a lot of
people expected me to wear
swimming trunks and practically
go naked. But I wore long dresses
and they were still sexy.”


Responding to a question on whether she was
intentionally putting on those revealing outfits
to tease men, she retorted, she said ;


“I take pictures and I post them. I
don’t care who the pictures are
teasing; that is not my business. I
have a good body and whatever I
wear suits me; it does not matter
if it is long or short. Even if I wear
a long gown, it is still going to be
sexy. At times when I put on
those sexy and revealing clothes,
it is because I am on set. When I
am filming, I wear whatever suits
the character I am playing.
Normally, I love clothes that cover
my body because they make more
sense and flatter my figure.”

Victor Osuagwu Exposes Nollywood Producers Using Auditions To Lure Girls, Upcoming Actresses.

Ex-Chairman of Lagos Chapter of AGN, Victor
Osuagwu recently revealed how he fought the
growing menace of sexual harassment in
Nollywood.

According to him, the fight to end the canker
worm requires a tough hand.

This is what Mr Osuagwu said about sexual
harassment in the thriving entertainment
industry:

“It has been my nature to see challenges as
entertainment. If you face it the hard way, you
will not succeed. That was the way I handled
some of the sexual harassment cases we had.
This is sounding a note of warning, we will get
you wherever you are and deal with you. What
this set of people do is to organize ‘auditions’
and at the end of the day mess up girls.”

Bemoaning the state of the industry, he
continued: “These days, before you are
auditioned, you pay money, before you act, you
pay money, to see yourself on screen, you pay
money and that is why we are having wishy-
washy production all over.

This is not the AGN we are looking for.
“Sometimes you also blame up and coming
ones. When they tell you that they are ready to
do anything, what do you do?

A gullible producer, director, production
assistant, personal assistant will rip you off
because you can do anything.

People are even buying laptops and expensive
gifts just to be on posters but when you check
their act in the whole film, it is just one scene.
“And do you know one funny thing; this attitude
has encouraged some green horns to buy their
way into acting. They are not really actors.

I remember in those days, once you are
auditioned and you pass, you go through
rehearsals but these days it doesn’t happen
anymore.”

Next time you want to pose a picture flashing a
peace sign and post it on Facebook, don’t-
unless you want to risk future identity theft.
Researchers at Japan’s National Institute of
Informatics (NII) recently learned that they
could copy fingerprints based on photos taken
by a digital camera positioned nine feet away
from the subject.

“Just by casually making a peace sign in front
of a camera, fingerprints can become widely
available,” Isao Echizen, NII researcher, told the
Sankei Shimbun newspaper. Echizen said in
another TV interview that fingerprint data can
easily be recreated if the person’s fingers are
in focus with strong lighting in a picture.

Fingerprint recognition technology is becoming
widely available lately. Computers and
smartphones now come with all sorts of
biometric technology that allow people to
unlock their devices or sign into bank accounts
by simply pressing their fingertip on the phone.
An example of this is Apple’s Touch ID on
iPhones.

The researchers at NII developed a fingerprint
anti-theft prevention substance that can obscure
and even produce false fingerprints into the
frame. So if peace sign identity-theft ever
becomes a huge issue, they’ll be ready to help
us out.

The peace sign is a very popular way to pose
for photos in Japan, which is why the
researchers decided to look into it specifically.
However, the photo lifting technique does not
require advanced technology and can be
applied on other common gestures such as
waving or giving a thumbs up.

This whole concept might appear to be the
plot if a CSI TV show, but it’s actually
happened before. In 2014, hackers were able to
fake Germany’s defense minister’s fingerprints
and unlock her phone by using photos of her
hands.

There was another case in replicating
fingerprints last summer when the Michigan
Police Department asked Michigan State
University researcher to help unlock a victim’s
phone.

The school used scans the police had on file
from a previous arrest to 3D print the
fingerprints, but they were struggling to find the
right conductive material to unlock the phone.
Many security experts will argue that biometrics
are safer than passwords that people create,
but unlike passwords, fingerprints can’t be
changed to new ones whenever they’re stolen.

Maybe politicians should start wearing gloves.

Nollywood actor, Prince James Uche who
recently got N10 million as lifeline from the
Abia State government is one example of such
cases and the president of the guild, Emeka
Ike, has come to defend the body.

He explained “It is sad that someone like
Prince James is begging for help but what is
sadder is the fact that one Nigerian can
actually pay all his medical bills. But because
the sickness does not involve a fine girl,

hand involves an old man, everyone seems to
be turning a deaf ear. I implore all Nigerians to

A lady reportedly disgraced herself at a night
club in Owerri, the capital of Imo State after
she soiled herself in her own vomit in the club.

The incident left some people shocked as they
couldn’t understand how a beautiful lady could
leave such a reckless lifestyle..

She was however helped by workers at the club
to clean herself up before being taken home.
