Good day fish hatchers in the house pls I need ur response

I have been into catfish hatchery for some time now. While caring out research online on how to improve I came across a write-up that catfish male can be operated. ( Removing one of the testis, sowing back the fish belly to be used later).
I treid it and everything worked out. But I noticed later on, when I used d last testis the fingerling produced where susceptible to stress and easily fall sick
I have carried out this practice twice and my fingerling where not as rugged as it use to be.
I intend carried it out ones more I don't want to just jump into conclusion that the fault was on..( using the last testis from the male).
My question is has anyone experience such... Or have an idea that this practice can affect the offspring...
