Senator Buruji Kashamu (PDP Ogun East) has lampooned governor Ayodele Fayose for launching his 2019 Presidential bid in Abuja on Thursday.
Describing Fayose as a joker and number one destroyer of the Peoples Democratic Party, the lawmaker added that he was highly unreliable in all purposes.
He is a confusionist and number one destroyer of the party because how on earth would somebody who agreed with other party chieftains that the presidential ticket of the party for 2019 should be zoned to the North, now turn around to start campaigning for the same ticket as a Southerner, to the detriment of the National Chairmanship ticket of the party already zoned to the area”, Kashamu said.
He said: “Lovers of our great party and politically minded Nigerians generally, should by this action of Fayose see him as the number one destroyer of the party and the most cantankerous politician in the polity who can at anytime abuse anybody and go against agreed plans at anytime.
“I believe that am not the only one disturbed by Fayose’s agbero brand of politics but all political stakeholders in the land including those who followed him from Ekiti to grace his campaign launch because everybody knows that he is going nowhere come 2019 but just exercising his right in a funny way as a joker.‎”
Explaining that the query issued him by the National Working Committee was unreasonable, he said Senator Ahmed Makarfi had made a mistake.
“I am wondering how I was accused of instigating crisis in the Ogun State chapter of the party while I am here in Abuja as a Senator representing Ogun East Senatorial District doing my legislative duties.
“The query served me by the party which has been responded to, has no subtance in anyway but pure mischief and malice”, he said.
He alleged that Makarfi was surreptitiously planning to corner 2019 Presidential ticket and was doing what he can to pursue those who could challenge him from the party.
“In fact the December convention of the party may not hold due to Makarfi’s ambition. He is a chameleon pretending to have the interest of the party at heart but secretly executing his own personal agenda”, he added.

Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested Ekiti State Commissioner for Finance and the Accountant General.
The anti-graft agency swoop on the state capital, Ado-Ekiti on Thursday.
The development occurred with an hour after Governor Ayo Fayose declared his intention to run for president in 2019.
Fayose said he will contest on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Fayose assured that he will run a purposeful government that will cater for all Nigerians irrespective of religion or tribe.
He lamented the state of Nigeria and urged the party to support him become the country’s next leader.
He said in a speech: “Our economy will be revived and returned to the path of progress that it was before we had the misfortune of having these clueless people in power.
“We will ensure diversification of the economy through agriculture, adequate supply of power and massive industrialization, thereby creating employment for our youths. We can do it, and we will do it.
“With me as your President, you can be rest assured of a government that will be responsive to your needs.
“You are guaranteed a federal government that will relate with all Nigerians not on the basis of ethnicity, religion, political affiliations and the percentage of votes but on equity and justice as citizens of one nation, one people, and one destiny.
“My party leaders, I present myself to you as the needed vehicle for our party to move back to the presidency. I am doing so because I am confident that with God and all of you behind me, we can do it, and we will do it.”

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) on Thursday, said only candidates who meet the O’ level and A’ level requirements and other criteria set by institutions would be offered admission in 2017/2018.
‎JAMB Registrar, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, stated this at a Training and Sensitization Forum on Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) for admission offers, candidates and stakeholders on in Abuja.

Prof. Oloyede said: “Scoring higher than the cut-off mark does not guarantee admission but makes the candidate eligible for admission consideration. It is not UTME that qualifies the person. It is O level, A level that qualifies a person for admission.
“That is why you can go from here to UK, you can go to Ghana, Uganda, Republic of Benin, nobody ask you of your UTME, they ask for your O level because by law it is the school cert that qualifies you not JAMB,” he said.

He also warned that JAMB will not tolerate illegal admissions by any higher institution.
The body also stated that students admitted illegally won’t be regularised anymore.
“We know that we have abused the process. What we have been doing is to send N5,000 each to JAMB in the name of regularization without capturing their picture, without capturing anything. You pay N5,000 and then they are regularized.
“We have not stopped to do backlog but from 2016 upward we will not allow anybody to do backdoor admission. Anybody that is not properly admitted cannot benefit from regularization.

“You cannot admit anybody under the table. Let us know your problem and let us collectively solve the problem so that you do not need to do such thing.
“We don’t have accurate data because what we have on record is different from real life. We cannot continue to do that. We will protest to the whole world that we have 500 students in our institutions but in reality they are about 1 million but 500,000 thousand have been admitted illegally,” Oloyede remarked.

The Commissioner of Police in Lagos state, Edgal Imohimi, has said that his men have arrested nine policemen and three others for engaging in corruption practices.
Imohimi said yesterday that the arrest was in line with the command’s zero tolerance for corruption.
The Police boss also disclosed that two divisional police officers in the areas under which those arrested operated were serving, have been issued queries after the arrests.
He said based on his directive, operatives of the X-Squad, which is tasked with monitoring the activities of police operatives for corrupt practices, have intensified their operations, leading to the arrests.
“Nine policemen and a senior traffic warden alongside two of their accomplices popularly known as ‘Camp Boys’ or ‘Antelopes’ were arrested between September 1 and 18, 2017
“The two accomplices were arrested separately – along Ikotun Road and along Igando Road – for aiding some unscrupulous policemen” in extorting money from motorists at the respective areas where they were caught.
“The policemen arrested are currently undergoing departmental orderly room trial to ensure a total purging of the command of its bad eggs, while their civilian accomplices are being charged to court for related offences,” the commissioner told journalists.

Former governor of Ebonyi, Martin Elechi, has declared that he is not scared of any probe by his successor, Governor David Umahi.
Umahi had threatened to publish the details of Elechi’s probe in newspapers and other media channels.
Reacting in a chat with newsmen in Abakaliki on Thursday, Elechi dared Umahi to go ahead.
“I handed over to Umahi on May.29, 2015, participated in his thanksgiving service on June 7, 2015, but received a letter of summon from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on June 9, 2015″, Elechi said.
“The petitions, which EFCC sources said were more than 50, were written by the present Ebonyi government through the state Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice.
“We visited the anti-graft agency regularly since and the last time I visited there in May 2016, I was shown a later from the Attorney- General where I was accused of several financial malpractices.
“I gave my own side of the story and presented copies of the same petition which the attorney-general issued me in November, 2015 over the same alleged offences.
“Umahi must not be saying that he will probe; he should say that he will continue from where he stopped in 2015.
“There is no way Umahi would not be aware of a probe instituted by the Attorney-General of his government.One of my sons is currently facing a court trial instituted by Umahi’s government.
“I am not running away from Umahi’s probe. I survived five different probes when Gen. Yakubu Gowon’s administration was toppled, having served in the East-Central state administration.
“I faced two judicial and three administrative boards of inquiry, was arrested three times by the police and had two suits filed against me at the Enugu High Court, all within that period. All these fizzled because I was not found culpable.
“Umahi has the right to feel bad that I failed to support him to succeed me, but I don’t regret my actions and he should not see me as problem of his administration”.

Four persons were on Monday killed after an explosion hit the jetty of the Petroleum Wharf, Apapa, Lagos State.
It was gathered that a vessel, identified as Histria Ivory, was discharging Premium Motor Spirit (petrol) around 3am when some hoodlums besieged it to scoop fuel spilling from the vessel, which resulted in the death of four people.
Officials of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, men of the Lagos State Fire Service, Federal Fire Service, Nigerian Ports Authority and the Nigerian Navy were said to have been called when the jetty’s in-house fire unit could not handle the inferno.
The Director of the Lagos State Fire Service, Rasak Fadipe, who confirmed the explosion, said he could not tell if there was any casualty.
He said, “A vessel was discharging fuel and the manifold caught fire, which led to an explosion.
“The jetty in-house fire unit responded first, before calls were made to other fire agencies. We all battled the fire and put it out.”
The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, in a statement on Monday, said the fire was caused by hoodlums who interrupted the discharge of fuel.
A statement, which was signed by the NNPC Group General Manager, Group Public Affairs Division, Ndu Ughamadu, assured motorists and other consumers of petroleum products nationwide that the fire would not affect the supply of petroleum products.
He said, “The NNPC has deployed a team of engineers in the jetty, while the repair of the affected parts will commence immediately.
“The fire was caused by the activities of hoodlums who were scooping fuel spilled from ships discharging fuel at the jetty.
“NNPC Group Managing Director, Dr Maikanti Baru, who has been fully briefed on the incident, described the occurrence as unfortunate, assuring the public that the NNPC has more than 1.6bn litres of Premium Motor Spirit, otherwise called petrol, enough to last for 48 days.”

The President General of the Igbo Welfare Association,in Borno State, Chief Maclaw Nwaogu, has condemned the agitation by the Idegenous People of Biafra, IPOB, stating that, the Igbo community are proud to be citizens of Borno,
Chief Maclaw Nwaogu stated this Saturday, during a meeting with the Borno deputy governor, Alhaji Usman Mamman Durkwa at the Maiduguri government house following the ongoing agitation for a state of Biafra by IPOB.
According to Chief Nwaogu, since time immemorial, Igbos have related with all the diverse people of Borno who are peace-loving, and have resolved not to engage in anything that will jeopardise the hard earned peace in the state.
He said, Borno state Government under the leadership of governor Shettima has played fatherly role to all in uniting the people in the state irrespective of ethnic and religious consideration.
He recalled that even when Coalition of Arewa Youths Forum issued an Ultimatum for Igbos to quit from the North by 1st October 2017, Governor Shettima who is the Chairman of Northern Governors Forum reacted and condemned such ‘quit notice’.
“We are really not happy with the unfortunate happenings in the South East, and we here in Borno, in as much as we condemned the agitations, we also stand with resolutions of our Governors in the South East”. Nwaogu stated.
Speaking earlier, the Borno state deputy governor, who represented governor Kashim Shettima at the meeting reaffirmed the commitment of the state government in maintaining peace in the state.
He said, the meeting with Igbo Communities in the state was at the instance of the governor who was out of the state for an official assignment.
According to Durkwa, inspite of the growing crisis in some South Eastern states of the country where some group of individuals were agitating for the creation of Biafra Nation, the Igbo community in Borno have demonstrated some level of maturity and resilience over the years in the state, adding that, even at the peak of insurgency, where many people fled out of the State, the Igbos remained as well as going about their normal businesses.
He noted that the cordial relationship that exists between the Igbos, government and diverse ethnic groups have given other people hope and confidence, as such, assured the Igbos of adequate protection of lives and property in the State.
He said, “Therefore, I want to use this opportunity to assure the Igbo community in Borno of your safety, inspite of growing tensions in some parts of this country, and i urge you to continue to go about your normal businesses in the state without fear.
“Government is working closely with our security agencies, ensure safety of all citizens, and i urge you to inform your people who were not here with us, that the unity and oneness of this country is very paramount for the progress and development.
“The people of Borno state have suffered a lot for the past eight years, and as such, we will not condone any bridge of law and order that will undermine the relative peace achieved.
“We equally use this Forum to thank President Muhammadu Buhari for his political will to end the Boko Haram insurgency and the gallant effort of our Military Personnel, other security agencies and our Civilian JTF in the fight against insurgency in the state,”Durkwa stated.

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) may call off its one-month old strike this week.
President of the Union, Prof. Biodun Ogunyemi, has disclosed the industrial action has not ended yet, because ASUU was still ironing out some grey areas in the agreement with the federal government.
Ogunyemi assured the strike would be called off, as soon as the grey areas were resolved.
“We are still trying to iron out some grey areas with the government. Once we finish doing that, we will address the press,” he told The Nation.
ASUU’s leadership had another meeting with the Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige, last Friday to report the decisions of its members in accordance with the agreements between both parties.
At a conciliatory meeting with government, the union had agreed to go back to its members, to take a decision on the offer of government and revert back with a view to calling off or suspending the strike.
“Most of these issues stemmed from the 2009 agreement that government had ASUU and also from the 2013 Memorandum of Understanding that the government had with ASUU.
“Government is a continuum. Most of those issues were not issues that cropped up from the Buhari administration, we inherited them.
“Based on these discussions, ASUU leadership will consult with its organs and revert back to government within one week.
“They will consult with their organs with a view to calling off the strike. And we expect them to do that within one week, they will get back to government.
“These are the highlights of the meeting and I can tell you that the meeting took place in very cordial atmosphere,” Ngige told newsmen after the meeting.

The Nigerian Army has launched a manhunt for leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, barely 24 hours after the group’s proscription.
Kanu’s whereabouts are unknown since the proscription was announced.
The IPOB leader is on bail for alleged treason charges leveled against him.
The Nation reports that his bail sureties, might be asked by the security agencies to account for him.
Also, security agencies are investigating Kanu’s alleged foreign links.
Investigators are said to be analysing a video clip of Kanu and a Turkish citizen as part of the probe.
“Troops have been given a firm order to fish out and arrest the IPOB leader. As a prelude to it, the Defence Headquarters on Friday declared IPOB as a terrorist organisation.
“Intelligence has, however, revealed that Kanu might have gone underground. As I speak with you, troops have actually searched his house and he was not found there.Troops have a mandate to arrest him wherever he might be,” a source said.
Asked what if he is not found the source said: “We might follow legal process by holding his sureties responsible. These sureties will have to produce him.”
On the probe of Kanu’s alleged foreign links, another source said: “We are looking into the allegations of foreign support for Kanu. We are doing a profiling of his foreign contacts. We have some clues but we need to dig deeper.”

Even though reports appeared online that a Biafran supporter identified as Nnamdi Obi, was reportedly killed during an alleged army invasion at the Afara home of IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu, proof of him being alive has surfaced.
One of Obi's friends who is also a fellow agitator, identified as Iyierioba Uzoezie, however shared pictures of them; maintaining that he is alive even though they are 'not okay'.
Uzoezie mentioned Obi and two others who he said were with them at Kanu's house in Umuahia Isiama, Afara, Ibeku in Abia state.

According to him, the Nigerian army rained bullets on them when they were attacked. He said his enemies are the ones spreading talks of him being killed in the attack when Nnamdi Kanu's house was raided.

This assertion was made known through the Facebook page of IfeanyiCy Njoku. Obi urged everyone to protect themselves whichever way they could. He confirmed that the struggle for secession is toughing up and they must not relent.
According to him, he had never experienced the level of attack that he saw when the Nigerian army fired bullets at them. He said he is still in shock but not dead.
He claimed God revealed the protective leaves which prevent them from being harmed by bullets because of Nnamdi Kanu. He insisted that the federal government give him Biafra or he would die fighting for the cause.

Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, has stated its resolve to support the development of infrastructure in universities and polytechnics across the Niger Delta.
Chairman of the NDDC Governing Board, Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba stated this during a courtesy visit by the Vice Chancellor of University of Calabar [UNICAL], Prof. Zana Itiunbe Akpagu, to the Commission’s headquarters in Port Harcourt, Rivers state.
Senator Ndoma-Egba said that the main resource of any society could be found in its youths and not the natural resources or minerals.
“If the youths are not properly educated, skilled or motivated, rather than be a blessing to the society, they become a curse,” he noted.
“We are concerned that our youths must remain a resource and not a curse to our region.
”
That is why we are partnering with universities and higher institutions in the Niger Delta region to educate and produce some of the best minds the country will have to offer.”
Senator Ndoma-Egba said that the NDDC was making efforts to ensure that all on-going projects in the universities in the Niger Delta states were completed, especially in the University of Calabar being one of the oldest universities in the South-South.
He assured the UNICAL VC, that the Faculty of Law building under
construction, would be
one of the best in the country when completed.
Earlier in his remarks, Prof. Akpagu, thanked the Commission for all its interventions in his University and all other universities in the Niger Delta.
He appealed to the Commission to intervene in its building of an Ultra Modem Medical Center, noting that since the inception of the university in 1975, the Centre had operated from a 4-room apartment.
The VC said with the current population of 46,000 students, the facility had become grossly inadequate.

also pleaded with the Commission for a massive expansion, stating that UNICAL was the only second generation University without an Engineering Faculty.
He further requested for provision of a
befitting Senate building, stressing that the current structure was designed to accommodate 5 Senate members. The school currently has 450 Senate members.

Igbo group writes Buhari, says Biafra Secret Service behind assassination, kidnapping in South East
.
A South East Revival Group, SRG, has accused the Biafra Secret Service, BSS, of unlawful activities in the region.

The group claimed BSS, is responsible for the “assassinations of kinsmen opposed to their fluid and dubious idea of a Biafran state.”

The group maintained that BSS, which is a militant arm of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, is “infested with all manner of hardened criminals and deviants” aimed at carrying out their devious activities.

SRG maintained that BSS members are the “masterminds of kidnappings/abductions for ransom; armed robbery; extortion of hapless people at gunpoint and other sundry acts of lawlessness and crimes against the state in Southeastern Nigeria.”

The group made the claim in an open letter to President Muhammadu Buhari, on the detestable security threats of IPOB to the South East.

The letter signed by its National Co-Ordinator, Comrade Charles Mbani, reads in part, “Your Excellency Sir, the Southeast Revival Group (SRG) seizes this unique opportunity to formally welcome you, Mr. President, back to Nigeria from your medical vacation in London. As patriotic citizens of this great country, we owe you a religious and moral duty to continue to beseech Almighty God in prayers to ceaselessly grant you good health and long life to continue to pilot the affairs of our long-suffering nation to prosperity.

“We have no hesitation electing upon ourselves as representatives of our people at the lower rung of leadership, the worthwhile obligation of loudly proclaiming your sterling leadership qualities. Within two years in the life-span of your administration, you have rapidly pushed Nigeria unto the path of economic recovery and prosperity, tackled Boko Haram terrorism and other burgeoning internal insurgencies. Your undaunted anti-corruption campaigns have begun to instill sanity in public governance.

“Your Excellency Sir, however, we wish to draw your attention to a nagging insecurity problem currently threatening the coherence of the Southeast region, with the potential to continue to dubiously snatch away the economic fortunes of the region; cause socio-political dislocation and spark insecurity crisis of regional and national dimension.

“We hasten to confess that the despicable agitations presently mounted by secession groups or separatist movements, domiciled in the Southeast region, in the guise of self-determination has metamorphosed into criminal gangsterism.

“Your Excellency Sir, you are aware of the senseless, criminal, unlawful and treasonable operation of a quasi-sovereignty or a state and a government within the sovereignty of Nigeria by IPOB’s informal declaration of a “Republic of Biafra”. IPOB did not pause at this point, but proceeded to the stage of the gradual formation of the organs of government of the so-called republic, inclusive of the “Biafra Secret Service”, (BSS). By its conception, design and intendment, BSS is the militant arm of IPOB, infested with all manner of hardened criminals and deviants. The national security agencies must have intimated you with the other forms of aberrations of IPOB in this direction.

“But our investigations into the activities of BSS have sadly revealed the stark reality that the unregistered and illegal “security” organization is an assemblage of hitherto scattered IPOB’s marksmen in isolated criminal gangs, who are now fused to congregate under a single umbrella. The organization has been empowered by IPOB to launch the subsisting, pervasive and consistently dreadful and alarming threats to security in the Southeast region as currently experienced.

“We are perturbed and indeed, overwhelmed by the persistent violent aggressions and coercive exploits of IPOB, through its arms and militant wing, the BSS. We suspect strongly that since BSS is peopled by outlaws, they are responsible for the spate of assassinations of kinsmen opposed to their fluid and dubious idea of a Biafran state; its members are the masterminds of kidnappings/abductions for ransom; armed robbery; extortion of hapless people at gunpoint and other sundry acts of lawlessness and crimes against the state in Southeastern Nigeria.

“Your Excellency Sir, we have cause to worry over these developments in our nation. This is because reliable information at our disposal suggests that the proceeds from the unlawful operations of the BSS in crimes around the Southeast region is one of the prime sources of the funding of IPOB to execute its foreign-backed agenda of destabilization of Nigeria, manifest in the palpable awesome insecurity, chaos and anarchy in the region.

“And in the last few months, it has been observed that IPOB has assumed the monopoly of violence and crimes in the Southeast region. It is also recruiting left-overs of criminal elements in the region into its fold, who are assured about the veiled cover of BSS to hide and audaciously commit heinous crimes against the people, undetected and un-policed, masked with the garments of secessionists struggles in public appeal.

“The heightened crimes and insecurity in the Southeast presently is heavily nourished by these antecedents of IPOB, which may not abate soon, unless the Federal Government of Nigeria take decisive actions against IPOB and its criminal affiliates to secure lives and property in the region.

“Even now, the Southeast region is under siege by these criminal elements, as everything which gives legitimacy to life and existence or dignity is fast crumbling or has already crumbled because of fear of attacks, resulting in death, largely due to the activities of IPOB. The vibrancy of businesses or economic and civic life in the region is on its historic lull, as evident in the frequent sit-at-home orders issued by IPOB leader, which compliance is enforced by members of BSS through intimidation, coercion and brute force.

“And at such instances, resistance by any person most often leads to his untimely death in the hands of IPOB members, much as looting spree goes on unhindered. These have inflicted enough agony and pains on us and it is getting to intolerable limits of endurance.

“But before we end our submissions, may we briefly expand on BSS, the militant wing of IPOB. The recruitment of jobless agile Nigerian youths into the so-called Secret Service of the Biafran “security” organization attracts some fee or outright extortion of money from interested persons. It explains the zeal and mindless quest to recoup spent funds through the wild criminality. IPOB leader has already publicized his intention to prevent voters from performing their legitimate civic duty by participating in the forthcoming governorship elections in Anambra state. It plots to draft the ragtag army of the BSS to frustrate and actualize this threat by hook or by crook.

“Generally therefore Sir, we perceive these acts and dispositions of IPOB as threats from criminal elements against Nigeria’s democracy and the nation-state. And to further fortify their actions and garner public sympathy, IPOB has set up an elaborate media campaign team to blackmail the Federal Government and its security agencies in discharging its onerous lawful responsibilities to the people of Nigeria by protecting lives and property. We fear that failure to checkmate this illegality, the trend may be replicated in other parts of the country, as the next general elections in 2019 approaches.

“We therefore plead with Mr. President never to abandon the Southeast region to these criminal elements who have activated their media infrastructure to blackmail the Nigerian military from carrying out its Constitutionally lawful duties as stipulated by the directives of the Presidency. Although, the cost of security operations of this nature is enormous, but we appeal for the extension of the exercise of “Operation Python Dance II” by a month more, to enable the military embark on thorough cleansing of the land of criminal gangs.

“Please accept our appreciation for your listening ears and kind understanding, Sir.”

Nyesom Wike, the Rivers state governor has accused the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) of the Nigeria police of being behind the series of kidnappings and armed robbery incidents in the state.
According the Punch, Wike who spoke with newsmen in Port Harcourt on Wednesday, September 13, said that Akin Fakorede, SARS commander was planted in the state to create an atmosphere of fear.

Wike said:''Most of the kidnappings and armed robbery taking place in this state are done by men of SARS. They use exhibit vehicles to operate. As the Chief Security Officer of the state, you complain, but they choose to play politics with crime.
''They fight crime in some state, but they refuse to fight crime in Rivers State. We are done with the elections, but they are using SARS to create insecurity in the state. As I speak with you, they will deny.
''But the SARS operative, who was killed, was amongst those who raided the Rivers East Senatorial District Collation Centre. This man can be identified in the video as one of those who invaded the collation centre with Fakorede.

Nigerian singer,Mr Eazi has spoken about some difficulties he faced before the spotlight finally found him. He made the revelation why speaking as a guest on The Beat FM’s Morning Rush.

When asked to tell how his success story began, Mr Eazi said;

Following the recent face-off between members of the Indigenous People of Biafra and the Nigerian military in Abia State, the South East Renewal Group (SERG) has blamed Nnamdi Kanu as the root cause of the tension in the region.
The development has forced the state government to declare three days of curfew in the commercial city of Aba.

Reacting to the incident, SERG called on Igbo leaders of thought not to tarry further in doing the needful to arrest the impending war.

Speaking at a press conference, Wednesday morning, the National President of the group, Charles Mbani, lamented that from his discovery, the IPOB youths have been brainwashed into seeing the army as the enemy.
According to him, “You must have, like other Nigerians, watched recent events in Igboland with a sense of foreboding, concern and utmost dread. Images emerging from the southeast, our homeland, are as troubling as they are worrisome.
“These youths are being brainwashed by the so called Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, which is now militarizing them as its fighting force. These misguided youths have been deceived into thinking they are making the right sacrifice of protecting Nnamdi Kanu, the IPOB leader whereas the only thing they are sacrificing is their lives that they are throwing away on the alter of ignorance.
“The soldiers attacked by these uncouth elements are the ones taking part in Egwu Eke II (Operation Python Dance II), which we find most ridiculous considering that the same operation last year ensured that kidnappers and armed robbers that were desecrating our land were curtailed to a point where Igbo enjoyed peaceful 2016 Yuletide.”
Speaking further, the SERG leader condemned the confrontation with the military in the strongest terms as irresponsible and having no place in a pluralistic country like Nigeria.
He said, “We urge other well-meaning elders of our land to join in condemning the incidents. The unnecessary attempt to provoke the military into using stick to address the Biafra issue would be catastrophic and those who love the region should do so well to warn their children from setting the region ablaze.
“May we emphasise that Igbo leaders of thought must tarry no further in doing the needful before it’s too late. The conspiracy of silence on the part of these leaders is what has made Nnamdi Kanu fill the resulting vacuum of leading our youth population astray.
“If nothing urgent is done the next phase in this ugly evolution could threaten our existence as a people.
“We have interrogated the situation and discovered that the IPOB youths have been brainwashed into seeing the army as the enemy, which is most unfortunate since the person whom they think they are defending is their real enemy.
“Nnamdi Kanu holds dual citizenship and will escape to the United Kingdom once he has the opportunity to flee across the border. He is going to leave behind broken bodies and damaged youths that would have destroyed their lives in pursuit of what is meaningless relative to contemporary world reality.”
“We have also noted the role of shameless politicians in Igboland that see the madness being advocated by Nnamdi Kanu as something to be milked for political capital. If violence is activated as being advocated, then forget that our land would burn while other parts of the country continue with their life,” Mbani added.

The military operation at the residing area of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, is still on, according to multiple online sources. According to Somto Okonkwo, a publisher at The Biafra Herald, a military helicopter has been hovering around Nnamdi Kanu's residence in Umuahia, Abia state.

According to the reporters, the jet has been hovering around the area for the past 24-hours as other soldiers are conducting land operation in their trucks and tanks.

Meanwhile, some IPOB members were apprehended earlier today by soldiers while on their way to the home of their leader, Nnamdi Kanu in Abia state. The members are believed to be heading to the state to "defend" their leader against the military invasion.

The Ohanaeze Ndigbo has added to the reactions that have greeted the recent alleged invasion of Nnamdi Kanu’s home by security agents which went violent.
The apex socio-political group described the action of the security operatives as sheer brigandage.
In a statement by the national publicity secretary of the group, Prince Uche Achi-Okpaga, issued in Abakaliki, Ebonyi state, the organisation said:“He invasion of Nnamdi Kanu’s home is brazen show of military brigandage and sheer prostitution of power without authority.

“It baffles me that solders are unleashed on a person that is peaceful and devoid of violence, while the gun trotting herdsmen are still on rampage in virtually every nook and cranny of Nigeria.
“It is a pity that the tenets of democracy are been bruised and battered with reckless impunity in Nigeria.
“The Operation pyton dance is a deliberate ploy to gag the south-east like a conquered territory.
“There is no doubt any longer about the disposition and countenance of the APC led Federal Government on the Igbos.
“The recent NNPC appointments strongly testify to our vindications and these consequential events dramatises them beyond doubt.
“Today, Boko Haram is still killing and herdsmen pulverising villages but it is in the southeast that is even peaceful that soldiers are deployed at close and strategic points.”
The group lamented that in the southeastern region, soldiers now unleash economic mayhem on motorists and deal dreadfully with those who dare not bring what it described as ‘white’.

“I think we have over-flogged these issues because this is a government that, among others, has been treating ear problem and is not disposed to hear your complaints.
“We just have a choreographic democracy. May God hear and fight our course,”the statement added.

In the letter, Fani-Kayode noted that the alleged invasion of Kanu’s home was meant to silence the chief agitator, but that those who reportedly planned it do not understand that it would only increase the crisis.

Some members of the Indigenous people of Biafra, (IPOB), have continued to defy the federal government by dressing and parading themselves as the security outfit of Biafra.

The security arm of the Biafra struggle which was recently launched by Nnamdi Kanu, leader of indigenous people of Biafra, under the name ‘Biafra Security Services’, has been a major source of worry for many Nigerians who fear such action might bring about confrontation with the federal government.

In pictures sighted by RationalTV..com on Friday, September 8, some of the IPOB members who claimed to be part of Biafra Security Services could be seen posing for photos.

The photos were posted on Facebook by Emeka Gift and Somto Okonkwo with the caption: “IPOB remain unshakable, unstoppable and unbreakable under the leadership of Mazi Kanu. We are a force to be reckon with.

“These hard-cores are fully ready to protect and serve Biafra land.”
