Hello VO,

I am presently in the US, an international student at the University of Texas at Arlington. I'm planning on taking spring 2017 semester abroad (Study Aboard). However, my visa expires December 2015. I will like to know if there is any way I could renew it while in the States or do i have to go back to Nigeria to renew it.

Thank You.

My Ogas,

Do anyone know any good university that offers substantial scholarship (most importantly full tuition scholarship) I can transfer to as I will be graduating from my community college spring 2015.

PS: My major is Civil Engineering.

OK. I've got to notice that Nigerians aren't really interested in playing sports in college. Nobody has ever talked about it on this thread. Me, I'll like to play male soccer for two reasons: because I love the game and because I'll be looking to getting some bucks from it in scholarship money, although men's soccer isn't a big game in the US sha.
Why I ask is because I've already registered with NCAA but I've not completed my eligibility clearance. I'll have to send my high school transcript and proof of graduation (WAEC result). I don't know whether I'm to send my original result or not, cos I don't think they accept photocopy and I also do not think they will return my original result to me. That's the dilemma I've having.

I think, when you get here and you make the team, the coach will handle all the paperwork.

Do you know any international student, especially Nigerian, who plays an NCAA sport?

All you've to do is attend their try-out and be good enough to make the team.

If you have a CGPA above 3.5, I would suggest you consider UNT as well because it comes with out of state tuition waiver and an additional $1000 scholarship per year. Please check if that still holds as I'm talking from my experience working with the International Office during Summer of 2012.

I think it still hold cos I have a friend resuming there this Fall and the PTK scholarship got the out of state tuition waived.

The assistants are rolling in but they're kinda late. Michigan Tech just offered me a GA to cover half my tuition with salary ( stipend). Now I already have my visa with MTSU with little amount for scholarship. I'll like to know if it's possible to transfer to M. Tech without doing any semester at Middle Tennessee State

I transferred without doing any semester in Troy Univ. so it should be possible.

I heard this before. I tried the links giving by the humble thread mate but still tickets for 2 adults is around $2,500 for end of the year.

Do you think incognito can make it a bit cheaper? or we should wait till the 6 months to leave before searching?

Thanks

I'll advice you to search with a lot of website like kayak.com and the likes... then go to the airline that was cheap according to kayak that you wanna travel with and search for flight....in most case, the price at the airline website is cheaper than what's on kayak.....all these must be done in incognito....and u can repeat all these steps during the day and in the middle of the night (nigerian time)

The things is....all those site operate in such a way that once you've been to their site, the price remains the same or increases....but if you're in incognito mode...you get to see the present price everytime you check the site.
