biggy00000: I appreciateyour point of view on this subject. However, government is still the ultimate regulator even though they provide little or no support to schools around. My point of view is that if moderation cant be applied on these fees, it should be cancelled. While some parent can pay the base fees with so many add ons ( social- field trip, graduation, party's), some still default on the base fee. I understand that govt is the ultimate regulator, humanly speaking. That is why I am saying that they left the substance and they are pursuing shadows. Regulating how much schools collect is very dumb to top govt priorities in this state of total systemic decay in the country. How much is graduation fee? I paid 5k for my daughter. Is that what is making people go hungry such that govt should leave all the national issues affecting lives and properties of people to regulate graduation in schools? Try to understand me |
Education › Re: Ogun Government Stops Graduation Ceremonies In Public And Private Schools by MrSly(m): 12:06pm On Jun 19 |
Kobicove: So because you're not poor parents who are struggling should be forced to pay for a useless graduation party every year.
When you went to school such nonsensical parties were not in vogue and I'm sure you did not suffer any behavioural deficiencies as a result of not attending them. From the moment I was enrolled into a private school I started attending graduation and my parents laid for it. I attended a Catholic mission secondary school and we celebrated feast day annually. So all these did not start today. But my point is that payment for graduation is not why Nigerians are poor. Poor leadership, embezzlement, corruption are the reason for low per capita income. So the governor who is directly guilty should not manipulate you into thinking that paying for graduation for your own child to experience happiness with other siblings is the cause of the economic word in Nigeria. |

biggy00000: I am happy you are not poor; affordabilitysometimes is not same as being "poor" while you can afford it does not make it same for all parents. Also, some school have made it compulsory and outrageous that parents complain as they are graduallygoing beyond the average reach. You might also agree with me that some level of classism is being introduced leading to unhealthy competition amongst parent and students, this is aside the "teachers appreciation" on the side. Like we say " a balanced diet is a cookie in every hand" Ask yourself the penitent question. Why can't Nigerians afford few thousands of naira even though they work every minute of their lives? The reason is poor leadership. Then the poor leaders avoided taking responsibility and resign honourable but then channelled the blame to people who established business to make money. Does govt also set prices for things they use to run their schools so they could ensure their affordability. Does the govt give them any form of help, subsidy or grant or even loan? You, that quoted me have you ever spoken with the owner of your children's school to understand some things they face. Njgeria is very shameless. I refuse to be deceived by this useless govt. School owners are not the reason the economy is this way. The governor nof that state shiuld resign and not playing to the galleries. It is good to know about this deeply before making informed contributions on those subject matters. We should not allow govt to manipulate us. |

If you lots rule with sincerity parents won't have problem with the few thousands of naira we pay for our children's once a year celebration with their friends, classmates and schools mates in school, people they have known over time. You guys should fight insecurity, shun your corruption, embezzlement of public fund and great jobs. These will benefit the parents a million fold than this pettiness. I have paid for my daughter own and she will attend the graduation though she is not a graduand. You people should focus on governance and stop making caricature of your selves. |

Olofofo247ng: I will not tell Nigerians how I will generate 10,000MW of electricity. It’s not for them to know. They just have to believe me and vote for me — Peter Obi
The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has insisted that Nigerians do not need to know how he plans to deliver 10,000 megawatts of electricity if elected president, saying they only need to trust him based on his track record.
Speaking during an interview with media personality Rufai Oseni, Obi was pressed to explain his promise to increase Nigeria’s power generation capacity to at least 10,000MW within four years.
When asked to provide a detailed roadmap, Obi declined, arguing that political leaders are often judged by their credibility rather than by publicly disclosing every aspect of their plans.
“No, no, no, I’m not going to tell you how. It is not for you to know how. It is for you to look at the man who is saying this,” Obi said.
The former Anambra governor maintained that he had a history of fulfilling promises while in office and reiterated his commitment to improving Nigeria’s electricity supply.
“I have said, and I repeat, that in four years we will generate, transmit, and distribute at least 10,000 megawatts of electricity,” he stated.
As Rufai Oseni, the host, continued to demand specifics, Obi stood his ground, insisting that voters should focus on whether they trust him to deliver.
“They don’t need to know. They need to believe in me,” he said.
Obi also criticized successive governments over Nigeria’s power sector, claiming that no new government-owned power plant had been commissioned since 2015.
He contrasted Nigeria’s performance with countries such as Indonesia, India and Egypt, which he said significantly expanded their electricity generation capacity over the same period.
According to Obi, achieving higher power output is “not rocket science,” adding that he has studied successful models in other countries and understands what is required to replicate such progress in Nigeria. “My commitment is that I will deliver it. I have my name on it,” he said.
Source Gearing up to 2023 after he unveiled his plans tinubu the snatcher copies all and now he could not do them simply because they are not his brain products. So yes, PO should kept the plans to himself. His chant of from consumption to production has said it all. Massive production begins with constant power supply |

seunmsg: That's arrant nonsense. It's so sad seeing folks like you defend the irresponsible behavior of the appeal court. No court should stop another court from performing its constitutional duties. Not even the Supreme Court should be able to do that.
Imagine the appeal court staying the judgment of an electoral panel indefinitely. That indefinitely can be four years or more. That is what you guys are advocating. Sadly, the opposition who are promoting this nonsense will be the biggest losers if the ruling party is to start doing what Accord tried to do. You are right. They have performed their duty and the money induced judgement has been stayed once again. Let then perform another duty. |

TimeManager: Justice Lifu acted lawfully and justiciably. He had already announced June 15 as the date of judgement before the Appeal Court gave her own order of stay of proceeding days after. And there's no law stopping any court from delivering its judgement under any circumstances. Besides, if Accord party obtained an order from the Appeal Court, how is that applicable to ADC, AA, ZLP and APP who were not joined in the suit?. Only Accord party can hold on to the order of the Appeal Court, others have to be deregistered.
-Kiss the truth! That is not true. His ruling on the case is meant to be adjourned indefinitely pending the ruling of a higher court. |
