One. How did know that the guy possesses all these bad qualities?
The fact that the guy intentionally wants to reap off someone tells it all.
Two, are you saying once anyone is from ghetto, he must have those bad qualities?
The fact that the guy intentionally wants to reap off someone. He takes advantage of people and these says it all.
Ghetto is this context does not refer to a physical ghetto. It was technically refers to a society of no principle.

RELATIONSHIP IS NOT FOR THE WEAK🤦🤦

I went to a restaurant this evening to get food for my girlfriend.

After getting the food and just as I was about to leave, I saw two lovers arguing.

I asked the girl what the issue was, and she explained that they had also come to get food.

Their bill was supposed to be ₦8,300, but the waiter mistakenly charged them ₦7,800, which the guy paid.

As they were about to leave, she noticed the mistake and told her boyfriend to go back and pay the remaining balance, but he refused.

That disagreement eventually led to their breakup.

Is that enough to warrant a breakup?

What do you guys think?

Was the lady loyal to the guy?
The break up was not because of ₦500. The guy is insincere, a cheat and untrustworthy. Lacking integrity and strength of character. There is no lady with reasonable prospect that would settle for such ghetto product.

He better follow Obaseki playbook in defeating Oshiomole. Move to a new party and Fight to the finish.

All other governors were given the power to control their states election but he wasnt given such powers. Thats a warning sign for a setup.

Kwankwaso is working for Tinubu, and so what? Make we begin fry beans? Peter Obi ran with Datti - which nobody even knew - in 2023 and got 6 million votes after extensive vote manipulations.

My only problem with Obi is that he knows he lacks the capacity to protect his votes, yet he left the coalition. Tomorrow, he will expect INEC to give him the results he will present in court. This is no strategy!
I believe he should up his game. That too is a factor to be considered. He should have strategy to protect his vote. That alone will win the election.
Romance › Re: They Have Used Sir Sir To Block My Advances by MrSly(m): 6:37am On May 20
Kalulu44:
Good day ladies and gentlemen of the great NL house!
Before I go into the main gist. I want to first apologize to those who thinks I write stories too much and they're sometimes long and boring to them.
Let me introduce myself first. I'm a single father of 3 who lost his Benin wife to their Japa syndrome since 2010 and never seen or heard from till today.
By God's grace, after 20yrs of driving commercially to survive and train the kids, I formally retired last year. Not bcus the job wasn't lucrative, but bcus I was warned to stop after having some series of severe back pain, neck pain and leg pain.
Thankfully, before retiring I managed to win over a hired purchased bus that's fending for my 3 kids who are staying with my aunt who at 60+ doesn't have a husband nor a child.
Not wanting to stay idle, I currently work as a security personnel at a Guest House from 7pm to 11pm, while taking care of the owners house which is just beside it during the day. The owner is in US. So I practically stay in the big house all alone. Honestly there's no much work for me to do there other than weeding and cleaning the compound once every week. The rest of the day is just for eating, browsing and sleeping. Not wanting to be lonely and depressed is why I am almost online everyday, writing stories and gossips about my surroundings.
Like I always said, 90 to 95% of my stories are real life stories with the other percents like adding maggi, salt and spices to make it sweet or interesting.
I love writing, reading, driving, music, movies, sports especially football and watching documentary on history and biographies.
.
Now to the main gist. I lived and work in an area fully surrounded by hostels occupied by students and youths working in Chinese companies in Ogun state.
Electricity in the area is epileptic and comes once every week. Luckily for me, due to the guest house, I have 24/7 light from either solar or generator which makes water abundance for me.
But the students and workers are not that lucky. So majority of them always looks for where to charge their phone and also gets water.
When lights come, they normally pump water in their hostels, but it doesn't last more than two days.
Like two to three compounds normally used generator to pump water where they always go to. Sometimes the owners of those places allows them, sometimes they rejecting them.
Another only source of water in the street is a well at the extreme end of the street, it's stressful for some of them.
.
I started working where I am now January this year, but I always stay on my own and just observing the students and workers.
For me to make friends with some of them, I started getting water for some of them that usually greets me. If I see they have walked and walked looking for water and didn't see, I will just tell the person to drop his bucket and then go inside and get water from them.
But anytime I do this, they always thank me with sir sir.
One among them, who was learning hairdresser and selling men clothes online, approached me one day and begged for her to use my compound to make videos of her clothes.
I obliged her and ever since then which was February, we have been friends.
.
With time I began to like her, but her constant good morning sir, good evening sir just like the other girls used to greet me always discouraged me from telling her my mind about her.
After Easter my phone got spoilt and for close to 3 weeks I didn't have chance to go to Lagos and repair it.
And it was the time my feelings for her became strong.
I didn't know how to approach her, so I used the opportunity of her giving me her phone to charge for her to write down my feelings for her on a sheet of paper and attached it at the back of her phone.
.
When it was time to collect it, I told her there's a note I attached in her phone that she should read it. She collected it, thank me and bade me goodnight sir while bowing down a little as a Yoruba girl she's.
Hoping to get answer the next day, even though I was apprehensive on how she will take or react about it.
My people, this is 3 weeks now since I wrote that letter and she hasn't said anything or confronted me on why I wrote such notes.
But we have been greeting and talking to each other since the next day after the note till date, and both of us pretending such never happened.
I said to myself once I repair my phone, I will send her a msg asking what she thought about my note and why hasn't she replied.
I got my done last week, and I still don't have the courage to ask her both in person or thru msg.
.
But there's a reason why I haven't.
In between those times my phone was still spoilt and the note sent to her. There was an electrician who came to do some repairs in my compound sent by my boss.
It was same time she too came to do videos of her clothes in my compound. The electrician told me he like her that I should run her for him. I told him I can't that he should go himself.
So he used the guise of wanting to buy her clothes and approached her.
I sha know they exchanged numbers.
This was 2 weeks ago, so last week when the electrician came to finish his work, he ask me of her. I told him I thought you collected his number the other day. He said he did, and that he has bought clothes of 30k from her.
But that when he tries to pushed further about dating her, she told him she has a guy.
.
Hmmmm.... I heave to myself and asked him his next line of action. He said he'll pushed further. I just mutter the words ok o.
So since that last week, hearing she has a serious guy, (even though she hasn't brought any guy home or any man came looking for her unlike some of the other girls)
It just makes my resolve of asking her what she thinks about my note weak.
But we do see and talk everyday, but her constant "es'e sir, ekaro sir" always puts me off. I don't know if she's deliberately doing that so I will know she respects me as an elderly person. By the way she's 28 while I'm in my early 40s.
.
To the other girls, I am getting closer to some of them. But they too wants to kill me with sir sir sir, and thereby knocking me off of asking any of them out. All these is bcus one of my child a girl who's 17 came to visit me one day.
But the truth is I am seriously lonely, bored and depressed at times. If not for NAIRALAND and Sportsnews and YouTube, only God knows what I would have done to myself. I really need one of them as an acquaintance and if it can lead to a serious relationship, I am ready for it.
Just that I don't know how to go about it with the over respect they're according me.
.
So I am asking for womanology experts who knows how to go about this to give me some tips. The pictures attached to this post are mine, am I too old in the true sense of it or what. Cus physically I look young and agile to most of the guys I see some of them hang around with and I am not mincing words here. I will welcome any thoughts from you all, both insults and good advice.
After all I made the post to get engagement and discussion to kill off boredom.
Thanks and good day to you all once again.
You look like a clergy hence the respect. Please don't trade your hard earned respect for anything grin grin grin grin grin grin grin
Romance › Re: The Anatomy Of A Weak Man: 15 Habits That Are Red Flags by MrSly(m): 6:16am On May 20
OverCalculating:
This isn’t about insulting men; it’s about holding up a mirror and self reflection. The traits below describe a pattern of behavior that I have closely observed in Nigerian men, that quietly erodes self-respect, ambition, and control over their lives. The sad thing is that many of them don't even know about it.

As a man, If you see yourself in several of these points, it’s not a verdict. It’s a starting point. All you need to do is just to recognize the habits, then start finding how to break them and rebuild discipline, purpose, and self-respect.

As a lady, if you observe these habits in your fiancee, you don't need to worsen the case for him by feeling it is normal. It is either you choose to help him rebuild himself with discipline and self respect or just walk away if you think you can't tolerate it.

There is a serious problem with your guy if:

1. He has a victim mentality.

2. He complains instead of fixing his own problems.

3. He's easily influenced and always looking for validation from others.

4. He can't control his sexual urges and food cravings.

5. He has weak eye contact, sloppy handshake, and is afraid to stand for what he believes in.

6. He's a nice guy who's always available.

7. He believes his parents are responsible for his miserable life.

8. He smokes weed. He's a weak man.

9. He distracts himself with pleasure and has no purpose in life.

10. He can't control his emotions and gets easily offended.

11. He is desperate and puts women on a pedestal.

12. Likes gossiping about others.

13. He's fat and in terrible shape but doing nothing about it.

14. There is lack of self-discipline to take action.

15. He gives constant excuses and whine about his problems.
Article produce from a very poor sense of judgment, shallow knowledge and limited experience. You need to learn life first before making fallacous assertions.

IyaTola:
I understand why many Obi supporters feel energized by what happened in 2023. He stayed politically active after the election instead of disappearing, and that helped him remain relevant in national conversations. Visiting IDP camps, engaging with students, donations, and building a strong social media presence are all smart political moves that keep his supporters connected to him.

But politics in Nigeria is still deeper than online popularity or public sympathy. Elections are won through structure, alliances, grassroots networks, polling agents, state influence, and the ability to protect votes across the country. That is where established parties like APC and PDP still have advantages.

Atiku may not excite young voters the way Obi does, but dismissing him completely could be a mistake. He still has political structures, loyal northern support, and relationships built over decades. Nigerian elections are usually decided by coalitions, not emotions alone.

Also, Obi getting over 6 million votes without governors was impressive, but 2027 will be different. Other parties will adjust their strategies after learning from 2023. Some of the protest votes and emotional momentum from that election may not be as strong next time.

As for INEC, many Nigerians still have concerns about trust and transparency, but ultimately any opposition candidate must not only win votes — they must win convincingly enough that the result becomes difficult to manipulate or dispute.

Right now, Obi is clearly one of the strongest opposition figures in Nigeria, but saying he will automatically win may be too early. Nigerian politics changes very fast, and alliances before 2027 will matter more than social media narratives.
Forget about your grassroot bla bla bla. In nigeria currently no one can win PO. If grass root means avenue for rigging then you are right because PO does not play agbero politics like tinubu.

Peter Obi has criticized the present govt for spending heavily on SUVs for lawmakers, and a lot of people have cvrsed out Wike for building houses for the judiciary. But let's go back in time shall we?

The same Obi who called out the govt reportedly purchased over 400 SUVs for traditional rulers during his time as a governor, oh, and with state funds obviously. Obi also got over 110 vehicles for Local Govts. He also gave out over 21 Honda Accord cars to judges in and 58 vehicles to magistrates; And that's not all. Houses were equally built for judges that cost close to N250m at that time.

Now how do you criticize Wike for building houses for judges, then clap for Obi who did the same? That's hypocrisy at its peak.

Note that the cars also distributed to the judges were reportedly Toyota sedans and Nissan SUVs. Obi equally distributed over 31 Peugeot 406 cars to House of Assembly members.

In his time his government distributed Ford, Honda, Toyota, Nissan, and Peugeot. Now he's talking about supporting local production. OK.

Family › Re: Did I Go Too Far? by MrSly(m): 5:08pm On May 18
Gagare1:
I hope it will be a short read.

So, there is this person I met during my undergrad years who was into youth ministry in the campus. He is a family man. I was introduced to him by a family that I consider my spiritual parents, and being the passionate type about the Christian faith, I trusted him and we started doing Bible study and other campus outreach programs. Our friendship grew well enough that sometimes I visit his house during the weekend (along with other youths he relates with) for Bible studies and what not. With time, I got to trust him enough to allow him into my personal space, which is not something I do easily because I am an introvert (until I trust you, then I sanguinize rapidly).

Fast forward to about two years later, I entered my first relationship with a lady and I hoped to marry her, so I introduced her to him. Gbam! Things started changing between us. Whenever she and I had issues (mainly bordering around her closeness with guys and her dislike of other ladies, even my own relatives) he seemed to take her side, always blaming me for being rigid. Now, he might be right that I am rigid, because we clearly disagreed on certain issues like him claiming to have more authority over me than my own parents because he is my spiritual leader, which I firmly disagreed. Or him saying a good man will forgive a cheating wife, for which I replied "she will go to her father's house and NOBODY can make me take her back". And many other instances.

Now, as time went by I got fed up with her flirting with random guys, and her lack of commitment to the relationship, treating me like an option. So when I graduated and left her on campus, I decided to gradually end the relationship by telling her to simply go ahead and commit to any guy she feels an attraction to, since I will no longer be around. Any reasonable person would have understood what it meant. As God will have it, about two months later, I met the lady that will later become my wife. But I didn't even try to woo her until after about six months when I was on NYSC camp. So everything was done via phone. First, I called my ex and officially ended the relationship, then call the new lady and professed my love.

Despite almost a full year of separation, all hell broke loosed after that call. My ex reported me to that mutual friend, who immediately went ballistic on me. He threatened to take unpleasant measures against me if I don't retract my words and come to the table. Table? To eat what? Tuwo ko Gurasa? I maintained my stance, telling him, "When I return from camp I will come to see you, but don't expect any change in my decision, I will only come to officially tell about it". And that was what I did. And for about two years, we were estranged.

However, when it was time for me to marry, I thought it will be good for me to honour him for the five years we spent together as friends on campus, at least he was kind of a guardian in a way. So I personally travelled interstate to meet him and address any grievance, even offering him the honor of being the guest preacher on my wedding. Now, I had to bypass a host of ordained ministers who were colleagues of my Dad, to choose him. In fact, some of them even told my Dad that they hoped he would have chosen them to minister at his youngest son's wedding, but I made my choice, and my Dad respected it. Of course, he chose his own friend to do solemnization.
Everything went smoothly.

About two years later, my wife and I decided to visit his family for Easter, we went with our daughter who was barely a year old. We spent two days. After about a year we visited again, but this time we returned with a clear decision to end any close relationship with him, choosing to simply treat him as an acquaintance and no longer a family friend. But why the drastic measure?

Here it is:
During the second visit, in the course of our discussion, only the two of us, he admitted jokingly that on their way back from our wedding, where he preached, they were discussing about how I chose not to marry a lady that matches my educational level and age, but instead went to marry a small girl with lesser education because I want to control her. But I will be shocked with what I will get, because that small girl will surprise me (i.e. deal with me).
Literally laying a curse on the very wedding he preached on. That was it!

Ever since we returned, for more than three years now, I give him cold feet. He has tried many times to get us to visit but I always find a way to avoid it. I simply don't feel my family is safe around them. The trust is no longer there.

On more than two occasions, he called my wife telling her to ask me what his offense was, that I am ignoring him. For me, it is a matter of family security.

By the way, the age gap between my wife and I is 5 years only. But she has a small body, so people think she is a small girl. I love that woman too much to risk loosing my guard, not for anyone, much less someone who cursed us while we smiled at each other.

I am open to mature advise.

Did I really go too far by redefining our relationship with him?
That is why I personally avoid too religious people. All you stated here are no big deal to cause unnecessary friction. I believe your mind would have told you this reason why you came here. You are really very rigid.
