To clear a brand new one is something only the criminals in the name of political office holders can afford. It is that bad. From 4.5m to 4m is nothing. |

sync: I have been keeping my old clothes for a while now. These clothes are all in perfect condition. They were clothes I got abroad while I was a student and some I acquired as a working class.
So some time ago I decided to select a few of them to give to my hairstylist. I called her a day before then and I asked her if she was interested, she sounded kind of cold and said yes. I took them to her the following morning on my way to work. She received it and only said “thank you”. I expected her to at-least message me later after probably going through it (cos some of them were actually brand new with the tags still attached) and showing appreciation, but she never did. Recently, I wanted to revamp my wigs and decided to take them to her. She wasn’t around at the shop when I got there so I had to wait. To my shock and dismay, I saw she was using one of my treasured dresses as her rag in the shop!! This was a dress that was in perfect condition when I gave it out to her, it was as good as new. That Dress Meant More to Me Than to Her and it dawned on me that value is truly personal
So my wig is due for collection soon. Should I confront her about it or just let it slide. Kindly advise You have given out the gifts. You don't have even a lega right to determine how the gifted us it, except you guys were in agreement before the gifting. |

escortafrik: Hello guys, I really need your advice because I’ve been turning this over in my head and I don’t want to make a mistake.
So a bit of background… I’m in my final year at the university, just trying to finish with good grades and figure out what’s next for my life.
A close friend of mine introduced me to her cousin a few months ago. He’s doing really well for himself, stable, calm, and very intentional in how he carries himself.
We got along pretty quickly and things moved from just talking to a serious relationship faster than I expected, but it has been good so far.
Now the situation is this… he wants me to move in with him.
At first, I thought maybe it’s just excitement and love growing fast, but he’s been consistent about it and says it’s because he sees a future with me and wants us to start building our life together properly. I do like him a whole lot , and part of me likes the idea of us being together in that way, like a real couple sharing everyday life.
But I spoke to my friends and they are not having it at all. They keep telling me that once I move in, it might reduce the chances of marriage happening, that men can get too comfortable and stop seeing the need to “formalise” things. Even his cousin who introduced us is saying I shouldn’t as well but I’m quite surprised because this guy has been so good to me in every aspect of my life.
Now I’m stuck in the middle. I don’t want to act based on fear, but I also don’t want to ignore advice that could save me from future regret.
So I’m asking honestly… what do you think I should do in this situation? What would you have us do? Everybody has told you not to, including his own blood line(cousin) whi even brought you both together. Yet you are still at the middle. Aunts if you want to move in with him go ahead and stop disturbing us. |

Politics › Re: How Oluremi Tinubu Marked Her 45th Birthday In 2005 (Throwback Photo) by MrSly(m): 6:38pm On May 13 |
OverCalculating: Flashback to 2005: When Oluremi Tinubu Marked Her 45th Birthday With Support for Children Living With Sickle Cell
In September 2005, Oluremi Tinubu, then the First Lady of Lagos State, celebrated her 45th birthday in a way that drew public attention for its simplicity and humanitarian focus.
Rather than organizing an extravagant social event, Oluremi Tinubu reportedly chose a modest celebration and redirected attention toward supporting children living with sickle cell disorder. The gesture reflected her growing reputation at the time for social advocacy and community-focused initiatives during the administration of then-Lagos State Governor Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Life as Lagos State First Lady
Oluremi Tinubu served as the First Lady of Lagos State from 1999 to 2007, a period widely regarded as politically transformative for Lagos. During those years, she became actively involved in several social intervention programmes focusing on:
women empowerment,
healthcare,
youth development,
and vulnerable groups.
Her role extended beyond ceremonial appearances, as she increasingly built an independent public identity within Nigeria’s political landscape. The decision to make her birthday celebration low-key in 2005 was viewed by many observers as a deliberate humanitarian statement, especially because sickle cell disorder remained one of Nigeria’s major public health concerns.
Advocacy for Sickle Cell Awareness
Nigeria has one of the highest rates of sickle cell disorder in the world, affecting thousands of families nationwide. Public figures and advocacy groups have long worked to increase awareness, improve treatment access, and reduce stigma surrounding the condition. By associating her birthday with support for sickle cell patients, Oluremi Tinubu aligned herself with broader health advocacy efforts that were gaining visibility during the early 2000s. The move also reflected a trend among Nigerian public officials and political spouses who increasingly used personal celebrations as opportunities for charitable outreach and public engagement.
From Lagos First Lady to National Figure
Following her years in Lagos State Government House, Oluremi Tinubu transitioned fully into elective politics. She later served as:
Senator representing Lagos Central Senatorial District,
and became one of the longest-serving female lawmakers in Nigeria’s National Assembly in the Fourth Republic.
Over the years, she became known for her involvement in:
education initiatives,
women-focused legislation,
youth support programmes,
and faith-based humanitarian activities.
As of 2026, she serves as the First Lady of Nigeria following the election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
A Moment Preserved in Political History
The 2005 birthday photograph now serves as more than a personal memory. It reflects:
the evolving public role of political spouses in Nigeria,
the growing connection between politics and philanthropy,
and the increasing visibility of humanitarian campaigns tied to public figures.
For many observers, the image also captures an earlier phase in the political journey of a woman who would later become one of Nigeria’s most prominent female political figures.

Family › Re: Did I Overstep My Boundaries by MrSly(m): 6:29pm On May 13 |
Skydiv: A friend of mine and his wife have been having a series of misunderstandings for some time now. He has asked his wife to leave the house because he is no longer interested in their relationship. The wife, a nursing mother, said she needed time to care for her newborn baby.
They had a serious argument, the lady packed her belongings and left the 2 kids behind a 3 years old boy, and a 3 months baby girl. My friend was shouting furiously that he would bury the kids, and even pointed at a spot to bury them if they didn't make it to the following day, that the woman can not blackmail him with the kids.
Both kids were crying seriously. I went inside the house and carried both kids, my friend started yelling at me that I should drop the kids, or else, he would do something stupid. Instantly, I became very angry and dared him that you cannot do anything, you are a heartless beast who doesn't deserve a child.
He went in and pushed me and the kids outside, then locked the doors and went away, both kids were still crying on my arms. I begged their neighbour to help me carry the eldest child; luckily, the 3 month old baby fell asleep on my arms. They live in a very remote area, so for me to get access to a cab or bike will take over 30 minutes of walking having no other option we started the long walk. After around 10 minutes of walking, it started raining, so I covered the newborn baby with my shirt. We saw the mother on our way, and walked past her she didn't even care.
While under the rain, the baby started crying, the mother couldn't withstand the sight of seeing her kids and me in the rain crying, so she ran to us and started crying and begging me to hand her the newborn baby, which I did, and she started breastfeeding the baby who stopped crying and fell asleep. Luckily we saw a keke that carried us and took the girl to her family home.
Reflecting back, something was telling me that I overstepped my boundaries, that I shouldn't have cared about the kids if their parents didn't. That I should have just walked away quietly. So I humbly ask, did I overstep my boundaries? There is no boundary to hard to break when lives of helpless children are involved. Imagine! Three months old and three years old. Abeg, let your heart be at peace. You have done great thing. |

Gagare1: Yes, it is a true story.
He was transferred to Kano from the East. So he decided to visit home and spend his annual leave there. Apparently, he is doing better than what some people wanted. So they killed him.
I remember when he came to Kano and in our discussion he told that he believed his transfer to Kano was a way of frustrating him out of the job. But he survived anyway and excelled.
He just got a promotion and his official car is already on the way, but he never returned to get it.
People are just wicked.
They sent him to Kano to be frustrated or killed by insecurity (as ignorant Southerners perceive about Kano), yet he survived. So they waited for him to come home so that they can do it themselves.
Now you understand my pain.
I grew very fond of him. He was teaching me how to speak Igbo, and I was teaching him Hausa.
I call him the "Lion" and he calls me a "great man". God knows I am still mourning Ugochukwu. I tend to easily develop a friendship with Igbo guys, even though I am Hausa. I think it is because of how straight forward they are. I hate corner corner people.
I will miss him. My brother you really feel hurt for this friend but apportuning blames baselessly does not honour the memory of your friend. In fact it even opens your own shallowness and bias which you tried to cover. Your topic says so not trust anyone including family. You came back to claim that he was sent to Kano to be killed and he survived so they waited for him so they can do it by themselves. Then I ask you, are those people, family also working a t high positions in the firm that they were able to send him to North? No medical details attached, no autopsy, nothing but you have publicly pointed to some family members in the east, including the mother of the deceased. This is not right. |

Is it Southwest people that called you drunkard and paraded your kofinn? Who begged Buhari to jail you?
Is it Northerners that framed you up with sham Chibok Girls kidnap?

The issue was that the bus we were on suddenly stopped 80 % way through the journey and said he doesn't have enough fuel and his tired. We passengers on the bus was like how come , then what do we do , what happens to the money we paid. Out of frustration most people left and me and the stubborn ones that remained started to drag the driver (not physically). Until he then stopped another bus and paid for our remaining trip to the destination.
The same issue happened on a keke I was on 2 weeks ago . I am a calm person but this shit is getting on my nerves and makes me angry, mind u am not someone that uses public transport much and yet it happens this much. Do you guys experience this issue or is it just my area When you pay for a transport fare to a destination you did not buy the car. Your only concern should be to get to the agreed place. If the driver trans loads, provided you did not pay additional fee you have not been cheated. |
