The Word has been existing since time inmemorial.

Today's text establishes several important facts, and introduces an important term.
It establishes that the universe had a beginning. This actually means that right even before time began, the Word(Christ) existed. Who then is the Word(Jesus)? Jesus is referred to as "The Word," from the Greek word logos. He(Christ) is the Logos, the definition, the meaning, the "Word" of God. He, has always being in existence, He didn't just came to be when Mary the virgin (his mother) conceived and delivered Him.

Another important fact stated is: "and the Word was with God,". We have already establish that the Word is Jesus and the second part of John 1:1 shows that the Word is not alone. He is with God the Father! This is shows that the Word is not God but they(The Word and God) were together.

"and the Word was God."
the concept of trinity is introduced; where God is one being in three distinct persons. Everything that can be said about God the Father can be said about God the Son. Hence, In Jesus(the Word ) dwells all the wisdom, glory, power, love, holiness, justice, goodness, and truth of the Father. In Him, God the Father is known.

Do you then think coming to Jesus will take you away from God? Let your heart come to a place of rest, because we can only approach the Father by coming through the Son(the Word). Why not allow the one who has been in existence before the beginning be your guide as He leads you to the Father; our Father. Please pray with me.

Prayer Point: Dear Lord, I come before tonight with my deeds and unbelief. Please work upon my life and bring me to the point of total belief in the existence of the Word. In Jesus name, amen.

Pause and ponder: what do you use your lips for? For declaring or defaming?

Imagine where mankind would be if the Christ didn't come, lived and died on earth. The passion of Christ gives us a vivid image of the magnitude of what Jesus did and meant for us.

He(Christ) was arrested and kept in prison. He was beaten, bruised and His flesh barteth for what? For you: so you can have the ability to declare this and all He did!

..."who will declare?" This is a question that requires us to ask ourselves; have I even come to understand what He went through? Do I understand that he was imprisoned and His right to judgement taken? As his workman(woman), we are asked yet again: who will declare it? Will you declare it? From here until the Nations of the earth hear it?

He was put to death not for Him but for you; his people, those who have allowed themselves to be joined heirs with Him.
Daily we are given the opportunity to declare and point men to Him and all He went through but we find excuses to not declare. Instead, we would rather declare it within closed doors.
We must come to the point of deliberateness about declaring Him to our neighbors, colleagues, friends, business partners, children and every one we come in contact with.
Have you made the choice of declaring his deeds and act of love? Then say this prayers with me

Prayer Point: Dear Lord, I receive the enabling grace to avail myself to be use to declare you, your deeds and show of love from this moment henceforth.
