Family › Re: Nigerian Parenting Is In Sharp Decline by Mryacks: 5:32pm On Feb 23 |
yemmit90: People often underestimate the important of family units on a larger society. The rot we are facing today could be largely trace back to disintegration of families units and lack of concern to our immediate communities. We are in an era where people care not about their families members, neighbors or communities. If we don't care about our family members, how do we expect us to care for the well being of the masses if giving opportunity to rule? This simple logic may look stupid or meaningless to us but serve as antecedent to behavioral pattern of our leaders. We are yet to see the bigger problems this will eventually lead to in Nigeria.
Even in the old Greek empire, particularly Spatar, children were withdrew from their parents at age 6 in order to be fully integrated into society. The woke western countries we are copying will soon abandoned the system of giving the children excessive freedom by the time they face real menace of their doing, which has already started. Well said....the eroding moral values of the family unit as the first step of socialisation for children is really worrying and does cause for conern. Some people underestimate the impact of how dysfuncctional family units affects the child, community and society at large. There is a total disconnect between parenting and upbringing. Just spending money on children and sponsoring them in 'over expensive' schools is not enough. |

Lukuluku69: Raya starts in EPL Matches and UCL while Kepa is for the domestic Cup Games namely Carabao and FA. Pls don't even bother explaining this to anybody. I don't understand why they must always have something negative to say about Arsenal. Like, are some of these people just retards or truly foolish. Like every club plays their number keeper everyday in the league except they are injured for feck sake. Smh |

You must always find a way to unnecessarily drag Arsenal into you comment. Now worry yourself....these guys will always support any other team than their own underperforming ones against Arsenal as long those teams are more of a treat to Arsenal than their own. I mean last season, when N. Forest were on form, a lot of haters said Notingham Forest will win the league before Arsenal, I just laughed....them nibdey ever learn |

The 2 goals against Sunderland was it setpiece?
The 4 against Tottenham this week nko?
Your memory is short ..English is bad....when you use "every" in a sentence it means ALL the matches, like in your example.
Abeg shift make I watch ball Don't bother to banter or answer some clowns who have made it their duty to "purposely and foolishly" hate Arsenal no matter what they do. They will always shift the goal post of expectation when it comes to Arsenal. No stresses yaself |

So you see, none of us know for certain what will happen next in life....we just play our part to plan, wish and hope. I hope you learnd not to be saying "definitely' next time cos it often makes one look like a clown when it doesn't pan out like they say |

Leaders don't know that the more the economily of countries is hard the less people have children because of the financial implications of raising children. It's simple. They should fix economies/lower cost of living and see how population will increase like magic |

Crime › Re: Touts Chase Family Of 3 To Death In Abuja (Photos) by Mryacks: 11:17am On Sep 04, 2025 |
Nazgul: The man should have just stopped and given them something the moment they grabbed his steering wheel. I'm not supporting what the touts did to him. I'm seriously against them. But when you're in a lawlessness country like Nigeria where touts would be threatening people's lives and police would be at the next junction extorting from those who survived the touts, you'd have to apply wisdom.
He was in the car with his wife and kid(s) how much was the money they were demanding for that he had to gamble with his family?
I remember one time I dropped a friend off at Anthony under bridge, he wanted to climb the hill to access the express so I moved in to drop him off. As he came down and left, one rugged tout started running towards me, I wanted to zoom off then I noticed he carried a very big stone, I just stopped and gave him N500 yes you heard me right. Five hundred naira which he collected and walked away. Imagine if I had stubbornly tried to zoom off and he had shattered my windshield, it would have cost me up to 200k to replace it. But I applied wisdom and paid just 500 and left peacefully.
We should learn how to apply wisdom. Everything shouldn't be about aggression cos these touts have nothing to lose. I've seen them pull down a conductor from a moving bus. They're ready to fight and die. So dragging with them isn't a wise option.
May their souls rest in peace. I agree with you that the man should have used wisdom to handle it better especially considering his family were in the car, unfortunately. But you see those agberos/touts around those axis in Abuja, they are very terrible. Their own is not even demanding for money, they will cease your key, and or enter your car and say you should drive to their "office" where you will forced to go and pay about 50k for some stupid registration that you are doing taxi even when it's clear that you are not a commercial driver. Infact, if they catch you around 11am for example, you may end up leaving their clutches or so-called offices around 4 to 5pm. They will just waste you whole day. I don't know who gave them effontery and power to do all that. By just stopping to park you car or quickly pick up a colleague or family member they will say you are doing taxi. Even when they clearly see you are not, they will still force you to go and pay that nonsense. Can you imagine dragging that steering of a moving vehicle with the driver, that's their Modus operandi. They don't try that rubbish with force men or security personnel. I go just waste nonsense comot.... |
