So let me get this, you are alone in Ife and tired for being alone as if you don't have a partner while sending money to them for upkeep right? As you pointed out, she was with you earlier but "frustration" got the better of you and sometimes you drank and over did by hitting her and that's when she had to leave...
Now that you are asking for them to return, she just want you to do the right thing traditionally so she can come back fully. I think that is fair ...just see how you can discuss with her family and do something small ok..

You will shocked at the lacked of intimacy and emotional bond that alot of "couples" are going thru in martaiges. Many just live in the same house and co-habit because of children or just for staying sake...

We relocated abroad 3 years ago but she isn't helping to settle any of the bills.

We both are gainfully employed though I earn much than she does. Our monthly expenditure is about £2000 and she doesn't care to help in any way. I foot all bills making me struggle to save while she keeps all she earns to herself. We also had a loan of over 10 thousand pounds to settle when we relocated, she didn't help with a dime till I paid all bits by bits which took me almost 2 years.

Despite this, I still help with house chores like taking care of our kids, home cleaning and even washing dishes though she does all the cooking.
I've expressed my displeasure several times but she keeps insisting I can't force her to financially assist, it's my job as I'm the husband. She seems convinced she isn't doing any wrong and no sign of remorse whatsoever.

I financed our relocation 100% without her contributing a dime.

This is causing a strain in the marriage and I am thinking if I am unreasonable in my demand, am I?

When I say that these celebrities are irrelevant to me, their so called fans will start attacking me.

We're just here only for a short while, one day our stories it will be history to another set of generations to come.

These celebrities even make things worse and the younger generation sees them as mentor.

They're all competing amongst themselves and it's quite obvious. If they can all come together and build something tangible like a factory or a company for the less privileged it won't cause any harm.
