After I saw Osita in Back from America I knew I couldn't watch any flm with them in it again. Alot of times they are just thrown in for comic value, even if the comedy doesn't make sense so I just can't bear to watch them anymore! |
lagosian:you shouldnt take what I said so personally, I thought it was funny, apparently you did not, oh well, You have your view and I have mine, |
Didn't a whole loads o actors get banned last year, which what contributed to her coming up? I'm sure she will not starve. she will be fine! |
*raising my hand* I can write screenplays! |
IT might be a good thing as she is currently saturating the market. I didn't mind her at first but now I'm getting sick of her. I could do with a break! But to answer your question, No I don't know what happened LOL |
oneman:Hey how easy is it to get there from Senegal? Do you know what the prices are like because they have cheap flights from London to the Gambia and Senegal is close too? Have you been via Senegal? |
I just feel that anyone who was sober and sane would not pick those two as the MOST BEAUTIFUL in Nollywood! |
I think that you either a) smoke crack b) are an alcoholic or c) Have vision impairment |
I started watching this one with Patience yesterday called Beyond Dreams. She is a nun, listen to the greatest lines in Nollywood history. The nun gets out of the car and says to her uncles, “Why why why are you looking at me? Am I Bill Gates? Or or or am I Queen Elizabeth to deserve such admirable looks from your… your ugly faces. You you looking like a Senegalese Chimpanzee.” |
This is a thread that you can post in just after you've watched a nigerian movie, so we can help each other with new reccommendations and warn each other off the awful movies. Please say what the movie is that you just watched (Naija only), rate it and say what you thought of it. I'll start, I just watched POUNDS and DOLLARS. I would give it 7/10 On the good side: Patience O was in it which is always a plus. I thought her American accent was hilarious, because it was in the right context whereby it was poking fun at wanna be American Nigerians. There is one part where she calls her best friend back home and is trying to put on this American twang and the only "American" things she can think of saying are "daaaaaaaaaaym" and "sheeeeeeeeeet." Her friend asks her what is wrong with her voice and she says something about the "cold inAmerica" Tooo funny. It really highlights how America is not all "swimming pools in your bedroom" and riches. There are many people who are there suffering, and when they suffer they don't oftern have the "wider community" support system that may exist in the village. Patience finds out the hard way by where she is broke and suffering in America for almost twenty years but then she still goes back to Naija and reinforces the image that America is a place where the streets are paved with gold. On the bad side: They should have thought more about the timeline. Patience's young character looked about 16. They then say <<ten years later>> and show Patience in Philadelphia. With all the will in the world Patience does not look 26! |
Ian't the Beyonce Movie Ghanaian? |
Every film I watch that is set on a university campus has references to cultism. What I want to know is how widespread is cultism? I have also heard the cult being referred to as a fraternity, so is it similar to American Fraternity organisations? Is it a taboo thing to be a member of a cult and how safe are Nigerian Univeristy campuses? |
Baxilexi:does that mean you are selling them, or since they are so rubbish giving them away for free? I just loove them since I started watching about 7 weeks ago, I am a Nollywood junkie, |
Seun:I imagine it to be like Brazil with a more African feel, plus there are so many different islands, |
trendy:I LOOOVED KEEPING FAITH! IT WAS SO WELL ACTED AND MOVING! |
Back from America A Night in the Philipines |
Does anyone know anywhere in East London they can be bought? |
bazii80:Yes Ini is ood but the more I see her on screen the more her mannerisms and way of speking irritate me wheras they didn't before. Have you seen Tony Umez trying to do an American accent? what a mess! |
Where do you buy your Naijja films from? I buy mine in Brixton, London, There are lots of vendors there, but I haven't seen any in other parts of London. |
where do u get all dose naija movie from, i ve nt watch them in a while Or you can get them from ebay. Thats where I put mine! |
Best I've Watched is: Annabel Fishers of Men Upside Down Promise Me Forever |
Oh I was talking about Nonso! |
I think that Ini Edo is a good actress but somewhat overexposed which is making me sick of her. I prefer her in dramatic roles rather than in lovey dovey roles though. |
Who do you see on a film cover and decide you no longer want to buy the film anymore and why? For me the number one spot goes to: 1) CHIDI MOKEME, This guy always comes accross like a slow sleazebag. I cannot help to think that he must be like that in real life. His diction is all fukked up and he just seems to simple for me to get any entertainment value from. Then next we have 2) TONY UMEZ, His twisted way of bringing out his words, and the blob on his nose and pursed up lips, need I go on 3) SEGUN ARINZE, He just gets on my nerves Honourable mentions go to Uche Iwuji and Lilian Bach. As for Actors/ Actresses that I love, Those would be Clarion Chukwurah Rita Dominic Patience Ozofor Desmond Elliot Nonso Diobi Genevieve Nnaji Uche Jumbo |
"I'm afraid for people who say "this is wrong, period" and have nothing to back it up. Simply because that's the way it was sold to them." So am I, but this is what alot of religous people do, Sometimes I might ask my friend something and her answer will be, "Because my God said so." Because she cant think of an appropriate answer. It is a cop out. |
Since we have a "Most Beautiful Actress" thread I figured one was needed for the men in Nollywood. so people please your top 5 here! Please if you can find pictures fell free to post. Here is my list in order from most gorgeous: 1) Nonso Diobi 2) Desmond Elliot 3) Michael Akon 4) Mike Ezuruonye 5) RMD |
Who have been to Cape/ Cabo Verde? I really wanna go. What do you know about it? I'm thinking it must be easiest to get there from Senegal. |
Abeg wetin u mean?Genny tops the list.Haba remove beef talk true. Its true Genny does top the list, Anyone who disagrees is HATING!!! HAHAHA! |
The reviews I have seen have all been commending the film, which is why I bought the trash in the first place. I am just grateful that it was all on one part!!! |
I must say pictures do not do him any justice. HE looks much better in moving image. If I had just seenany of these pictures posted without having seen him on film I wouldn't think that he is hot! |
