TV/MoviesRe: Aki and Pawpaw: Chinedu Ikedieze and Osita Iheme by MsBS(f): 3:18pm On May 02, 2007
After I saw Osita in Back from America I knew I couldn't watch any flm with them in it again. Alot of times they are just thrown in for comic value, even if the comedy doesn't make sense so I just can't bear to watch them anymore!

Hello there, just because you don't agree with me doesn't make me an insane person. That was my view. I'm free to express my views and ideas, unless they are derogatory or offensive to anyone. Maybe you should get yourself checked for these kind of reactions at the drop of a hat. lipsrsealed

TV/MoviesRe: Ini Edo Banned For 1 Year? by MsBS(f): 10:35pm On Apr 30, 2007
IT might be a good thing as she is currently saturating the market. I didn't mind her at first but now I'm getting sick of her. I could do with a break!

But to answer your question,  No I don't know what happened LOL

Hey Guys,
I have a one or two idea about getting to Cape Verde, My Elder Bros been there,
The best and easiest way to go is through Senegal and you can easily enter portugal from cape verde. Life there is sweet and there are lots of Nigerian there but you have to work hard. Indigenes are somewhat lazy gives foreigners adventage to work and make lots of money while there. If you need more info, I will be able to direct you to my brother,
Hey how easy is it to get there from Senegal? Do you know what the prices are like because they have cheap flights from London to the Gambia and Senegal is close too? Have you been via Senegal?

TV/MoviesRe: Best Movie Quotes by MsBS(f): 4:26pm On Apr 25, 2007
I started watching this one with Patience yesterday called Beyond Dreams.

She is a nun, listen to the greatest lines in Nollywood history. The nun gets out of the car and says to her uncles,

“Why why why are you looking at me? Am I Bill Gates? Or or or am I Queen Elizabeth to deserve such admirable looks from your… your ugly faces. You you looking like a Senegalese Chimpanzee.”
TV/MoviesI Just Watched: by MsBS(op): 5:54pm On Apr 24, 2007
This is a thread that you can post in just after you've watched a nigerian movie, so we can help each other with new reccommendations and warn each other off the awful movies.

Please say what the movie is that you just watched (Naija only), rate it and say what you thought of it.

I'll start,

I just watched POUNDS and DOLLARS.

I would give it 7/10

On the good side:

Patience O was in it which is always a plus. I thought her American accent was hilarious, because it was in the right context whereby it was poking fun at wanna be American Nigerians. There is one part where she calls her best friend back home and is trying to put on this American twang and the only "American" things she can think of saying are "daaaaaaaaaaym" and "sheeeeeeeeeet." Her friend asks her what is wrong with her voice and she says something about the "cold inAmerica" Tooo funny.

It really highlights how America is not all "swimming pools in your bedroom" and riches. There are many people who are there suffering, and when they suffer they don't oftern have the "wider community" support system that may exist in the village. Patience finds out the hard way by where she is broke and suffering in America for almost twenty years but then she still goes back to Naija and reinforces the image that America is a place where the streets are paved with gold.

On the bad side:
They should have thought more about the timeline. Patience's young character looked about 16. They then say <<ten years later>> and show Patience in Philadelphia. With all the will in the world Patience does not look 26!

EducationCultism In Nigerian Universities by MsBS(op): 11:40am On Apr 20, 2007
Every film I watch that is set on a university campus has references to cultism.

What I want to know is how widespread is cultism? I have also heard the cult being referred to as a fraternity, so is it similar to American Fraternity organisations?

Is it a taboo thing to be a member of a cult and how safe are Nigerian Univeristy campuses?

TV/MoviesRe: Worst Actors Or Actresses In Nollywood by MsBS(op): 9:32am On Mar 28, 2007
bazii80:
Nollywood, i must say, can get better if the producers put in more effort to churn out good stories rather than think of how wide their smile to the bank will be! Ini is a good actress but as someone said, yes ,overexposure seems to be a problem. Tony Umez? He has a stupid face. And there are so many terrible actors that i can't waste precious time to talking about when there are good ones like Clarion, Oge Okoye(yes, she's good), Omotola, Stella damasus.Jim Iyke is also good but he can do better without his annoying wannabe antics. But we will agree nollywood is not doing so bad afterall.
Yes Ini is ood but the more I see her on screen the more her mannerisms and way of speking irritate me wheras they didn't before. Have you seen Tony Umez trying to do an American accent? what a mess!
TV/MoviesNigerian Films - Where Do You Buy Them? by MsBS(op): 9:26am On Mar 28, 2007

TV/MoviesRe: Worst Actors Or Actresses In Nollywood by MsBS(op): 7:57am On Mar 21, 2007
I think that Ini Edo is a good actress but somewhat overexposed which is making me sick of her. I prefer her in dramatic roles rather than in lovey dovey roles though.
TV/MoviesWorst Actors Or Actresses In Nollywood by MsBS(op): 10:35pm On Mar 20, 2007
Who do you see on a film cover and decide you no longer want to buy the film anymore and why?

For me the number one spot goes to:

1) CHIDI MOKEME,
This guy always comes accross like a slow sleazebag. I cannot help to think that he must be like that in real life. His diction is all fukked up and he just seems to simple for me to get any entertainment value from.

Then next we have

2) TONY UMEZ,
His twisted way of bringing out his words,  and the blob on his nose and pursed up lips,  need I go on

3) SEGUN ARINZE,
He just gets on my nerves

Honourable mentions go to Uche Iwuji and Lilian Bach.

As for Actors/ Actresses that I love,  Those would be

Clarion Chukwurah
Rita Dominic
Patience Ozofor
Desmond Elliot
Nonso Diobi
Genevieve Nnaji
Uche Jumbo

"I'm afraid for people who say "this is wrong, period" and have nothing to back it up. Simply because that's the way it was sold to them."

So am I, but this is what alot of religous people do, Sometimes I might ask my friend something and her answer will be, "Because my God said so." Because she cant think of an appropriate answer. It is a cop out.

I must say pictures do not do him any justice. HE looks much better in moving image. If I had just seenany of these pictures posted without having seen him on film I wouldn't think that he is hot!
