How would that explain why it works on other players? |
I have a problem. I have watched tonnes of VCD's on my player, but this one just will not work. I borrowed Faces of Africa from my friend and it registered as "no disc." I then wiped the disc with scratch remover and tried again. It did not work. I gave it back to my friend and then later bought faces of africa and showgirls for myself. I went to put the part two disc in (part one works fine) and again NOTHING, "no disc" I looked on the surface and it is perfectly smooth so it is nothing to do with scratches or dirt. so by now I was really miffed to say the least, so I thought I would try it on my computer and HEY PRESTO! It worked, only problem is that my compter has not sound the sound card is messed up! This has happed to me once before with SUPERLOVE. I took it back to the guy I bought it from and he put it in his DVD player and it worked. What is going on? What can I do to make it play in my player? Has anyone else experienced the same kind of problem? |
1) Genevieve 2) Oge Okore 3) Caroline Ekannem 4) Dakore Egbuson 5) Uche Jombo Special Mention to the chick that played Annabel in Annabel, she was really pretty. |
I mean like in the films like "Girls Cot" and "Women's Cot" |
I was married to Mike til I set eyes on Nonso, He is HOT HOT HOT. Mike just got kicked to the curb. I just finished watching Marry Me/ Desperate Love and straight afterwards I noted his name form the credits and looked him up, The stupid film credited him as Nonso Diobu, but luckily with the help of Google I found him! He is definitely the hottest thing in Nollywood and I would buy anything he stars in |
Hmmm, that doesnt sound right, |
I've been wondering, why are all these films on VCD's? Do nigerians not use DVD's at all? I mean are any of the films on DVD? I was thinking it is becase of cost, but I would imagine it would be cheaper to just use one dvd rather than breaking the films into half and using 2 VCD's, that is really annoying. Another question: What does COT mean? I am wondering this after watching Girl's COT. The ideas I had were Court, or Cult. I couldn't think of anything else, so someone, please, enlighten me, , Oh and one more question, When you buy an original VCD film in Nigeria, how much do they cost in Naira? |
I think the whole double act thing is too much. |
The first time I saw one of these actors in a film it was not as part of a double act. In fact I saw Osita acting by himself in Columbia Connection (terrible film with no point) and to me he was the star of the film. He was what made it enjoyable. A small boy with an old man's soul, or so I thought! My friend later informed me that he was not a small boy but I man. I told her she must be wrong and went and looked it up to find that he was more than double the age I had thought him to be. Next I saw the film Back from America with him playing alongside Chinedu, and it was after watching this film that I decided that I never wanted to see those two again! First of all they seemed to be "kids" in that they were being punished by their parents and their general behviour, then the next minute chinedu is having a "thing" with Rita and she looks like she is in her late twenties - early 30's. what the hell is up with that? It made me feel sick. Were they playing the role of kids or men? It was confusing, the should have made it clear. Has anyone seen the film "Back from America"? I cannot begin to think what the makers were thinking, 50 Cent and Busta Rhyme? WTF? then all the use of nicca, it was ridiculous. I then sound out that Osita is a "singer/rapper" Did he think that awful fim would do anything |

I have been a Nollywood addict for about 3 weeks now and have watched about 30 titles. This stuff is cluttering up my house so I'm putting the lot on ebay and starting afresh. (so if you want any ebay is calling you!!! LOL) so far I've been lucky and liked most of the ones I've watched which have been: Honey Desire 1&2 Osuofia in London 1&2 Desperate Women 1&2 Deep Bondage 1&2 (this was crap but since it was the follow up to Desperate women I had to watch) Market Sellers1&2 Keeping Faith Critical Decision 1&2 Rip Off 1&2 Store Keeper 1&2 Games Women Play 1&2 Girls Cot 1, 2&3 Turn Table 1&2 Fatal Seduction 1&2 Fishers of Men 1&2 Private Sin 1&2 Sister's Enemy 1&2 The prostitute All I have 1&2 The really awful ones that deserve a mention, DON'T WATCH!!! are: More Than sisters Veno Married for Money Back From America 1&2 Mass Destruction 1&2 Engagement night 1&2 Columbia Connection 1&2 Total Control 1&2 (boring and I was told there was only a part 1&2 only to find out there was a part 3!) The point of this thread is, what titles have come out in the next six months that are MUST WATCH's? When I go to the market stall they have very few old titles so I need to start getting with the program and picking up the new stuff, but alas, where to start? RECOMMENDATIONS PLEASE!!! |
Do you know Leroy's last name? I am just grateful the film didn't have two parts or I would have been eveen more annoyed. He sounded like he was trying to do a semi cockney accent. I don't know what he was playing at. maybe he is on drugs. He doesn't seem right! |
My favourite films ever are American History X, Maria Full of Grace and City of God. |
I'm so glad you understand! you know when I first started watching and saw Genevieve, I just knew that something about the film wasn't right. she normally has this sparkle about her and she just looked all ashy and to up, even thought the character she was playing wasn't to up. I was wondering what was going on. It was like she knew how crap the film was but had already comitted to it. That Abe guy has to be the WORST ACTOR ever! Why did he remind me of a psychotic killer? Not that I know any peronally, but if I did know any that is exactly how I would imagine them to be. I mean seriously. What woman would go for a man acting all stalkerish and crazy the way he was? It was absolutely ludicrous! The story line was just stupis, The pact, like anyone is keeeping that pact after ten years, the whole Liberia situation, the lies about the deadly poison she was injected with and then last but stupidest of all, The wealth in exchange for death cult UNBELIEVABLE, the director/producer/writers must have been at a crack convention when they got together to make this mess. |
I saw it and it just was not thaaaaaaaaat funny, In fact there were very few laugh out loud moments for me. |
I am a newbie but so far my favourites are, "Girls Cot" "Fishers of Men" |
Segun Arinze - More Than Sisters: Nollywood Film I just watched; More Than sisters, Genevieve Nnaji,Stella Damasus and Segun Arinze star in this one part flop. This film is such a flop… from the wooden acting to the ridiculous storyline. If it had had a part two I don't think I would have been able to sit through it. If anyone knows who the actor is who played Abe please let me know. I swear on the credits it said Segun Arinze, but when I looked up Segun Arinze, it did not appear to be the same guy. So for now I won't blacken Segun's name. I'll simply refer to the actor that played Abe as ABE! Abe ruined the whole film, not that there was much to ruin in the first place. Nevertheless he turned the film from a 4/10 to a 1/10. He was so so awful. He said his lines as though he were reading from an autocue and nothing he said was with conviction. If he were a 12 year old in a school play his performance would still be abysmal. The basic plot is two women, Nora and Samantha who are best friends. When Nora's father dies leaving her an orphan Samanths's parents take her in, and then so follows the predictable tale of a sister's betrayal. This film was so lame… the betrayal wasn't even a true betrayal. Has anyone else watched this sham? What did you think? |
I am new to Nollywood. when did she leave and how long was she gone for? |
UNBELIEVABLE, the director/producer/writers must have been at a crack convention when they got together to make this mess.
