As at 6th May, 2020, Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) reported 195 new cases of the infectious disease, Coronavirus in Nigeria, pushing the total to 3145.

NCDC further disclosed that while a total of 534 people have been discharged, 103 people have been confirmed dead.

Following the order by Delta State Government to punish anyone who violates the ban on conferences, sporting activities, gathering of people at event centers, and other public engagements, a group of people have been caught violating the rule.

The defaulters of this social distancing order were caught by Delta state authorities and were publicly made to face the music.

In the video below, the defaulters were ordered to lay face down on the ground with security operatives supervising them.

Recall, while speaking about the lockdown situation in the state, the governor reminded residents that security agencies have been advised to ensure strict compliance with the above directives, and warned that violators will be prosecuted, without fear or favor.

As at 11:40pm on May 5th, 2020, Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) reported 148 new cases of the infectious disease, Coronavirus in Nigeria, pushing the total to 2950.

NCDC further disclosed that while a total of 481 people have been discharged, 98 people have been confirmed dead.

Just yesterday the total death was reported to be 93, which means than in less than 24 hrs, Nigeria has lost 5 more people to the disease. Quite sad!

Talented veteran nollywood actress, Mercy Johnson and her husband, Prince Odie Okojie, have welcomed their fourth child, a baby girl, at University of Maryland St. Joseph Medical Center in the United States.

The proud father of a total of four now with the actress, took to his Instagram page on Monday evening to break the news to fans where he also revealed the baby's name to be Divine Mercy Ehinomen Okojie.

As at 11:45pm on the 4th of May, Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) reported 245 new cases of the infectious disease, Covid-19 in Nigeria, pushing the total to 2802.

NCDC further disclosed that while a total of 417 people have been discharged, 93 people have been confirmed dead.


NCDC also revealed that nine cases previously announced as discharged cases, were reported in error.

Therefore, there are 417 cases that have been discharged as at 11:45pm on May 4th, 2020.

NCDC revealed once more that one case reported in Nasarawa was a repeat test.

Lagos has been the epicenter of the outbreak in Nigeria with 1,107 confirmed cases and 30 deaths as of May 3rd. 

Recall the first COVID-19 case was recorded in Lagos and it kept increasing which prompted the governor of Lagos state Babajide Sanwo-Olu and FG, to declare a compulsory lockdown.

The lockdown which stretched for about a month gave birth to a set of notorious criminals called "The One Million Boys".

Driven by hunger as they claimed, they terrorised the communities, robbing the people of their food items and money.

On Monday 27th April, the president announced in a nationwide broadcast that he has approved a phased and gradual easing of lockdown measures in Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Lagos and Ogun States effective from Monday, May 4, at 9am. 

The Lockdown lifting commenced today, 4th May, and from the reports coming in, it seems it is a wrong move.

As at 6am on Monday morning, there was heavy traffic on third mainland.

Banks and atm machines were filled with people fighting to withdraw money.

Bus stops , streets were over crowded.. It wasn't a good sight.

From all indications, this lockdown lifting is clearly not a good idea.

Lagos was in top of the Infected list, followed closely behind by Kano.

NCDC further disclosed that while a total of 400 people have been discharged, 87 people have been confirmed dead.

As at 11:55pm on 2nd May, Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) reported 220 new cases of the infectious disease, Covid-19 in Nigeria, pushing the total to 2,388.

NCDC further disclosed that while a total of 285 people have been discharged, 85 people have been confirmed dead.

Just yesterday the total death was reported to be 68, which means than in less than 24 hrs, Nigeria has lost 17 more people to the virus. Really sad!

As at 11: pm on May 1st, Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) reported 238 new cases of the infectious disease, Covid-19 in Nigeria, pushing the total to 2,170.

NCDC further disclosed that while a total of 351 people have been discharged, 68 people have been confirmed dead.

NCDC also shared a breakdown of the total confirmed cases by state as at May 1, 2020.


Lagos state continues to top the list but from report given, Kano state has taken over Lagos in daily report of new cases.

Nigerian lady who was the sole survivor in a fatal accident shares her testimony as she exceeds doctors’ expectations (Photos)

A Nigerian Lady who was the sole survivor in a fatal accident that claimed the lives of all except hers in 2016 has taken to social media full of thanks to God as she shares her testimony.

Remering the near death accident, the Nigerian lady identified as Blessing Dike revealed that she exceeded her doctor's expectations and walked again after her legs got damaged in the accident 4 years ago.

In a tweet posted, Blessing said doctors told her that she would never be able to walk with her right leg that was badly damaged in the accident.

She is however thankfully that against all odds, she can now walk well.

As at 11:50pm on 28th April, Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) reported 195 new cases of the infectious disease, Covid-19 in Nigeria, pushing the total to 1532.

844 cases gotten from Lagos alone, FCT following behind with 158 cases.

The reality show follows the love life of the reality  stars who began a relationship during their time at the Big Brother house.

The episode two of the show captured Mercy and her in house lover, Ike, engrossed in a discussion.

During their discussion, Ike asked her whom she would be inviting for the event she is planning and she replied with 'few housemates'.

Ike who wasn't satisfied with the response chipped in 'and some singers'.

When asked if he was referring to Willie, he hilariously replied with; 'Who is Willie'?

Obviously he was referring to Mercy Eke's bestie, Music star, Willie XO.

Recall Mercy Eke was recently spotted in London with Nigerian singer, Willie, having a nice private dinner.

Saying that Ike might feel threatened by the singer won't be far from the truth.
