The Punch read it wrong as usual! The named is the Director of Photography which does not automatically qualify him the Directorof the film haba! Part of the team but not the Director and from what I know Davide sounds italian and not American -naija journalism Punch olodo rabata punch ![]() |
@ Lawwyblack -I have been away but now I am back in “da land” I am currently digging hard to obtain some info on Dragons’ Den Season 2. Pls bear with me as my sources seem to be distant at the moment (of course I have been away). The last I heard was that it’s on for sure! So no panicking, let me go get some details. ![]() |
Sometime last year that I heard from a reliable source that Kanu's story was in development with some foreign film company in the uk, i am still waiting expecting a press release, news, trailer, coming soon etc I have been an avid fan of Kanu since 93”. I wait and hope for the film project to come to fruition, as the Peak advert shows it would be a wonderful thing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IT’S IN U ![]() |
Happy New Year Nairalanders. The latest scoop on the street is that UBA Africa's Global Bank might be losing the 2008 hit business show Dragons Den Nigeria to another major sponsor! Na wah! Either way, it doesn't matter sha , as long as the 2nd season holds wheda na etisalat, first bank, Bank of America or Savannah Bank (haha) e no too matter to me. The inaugural season showed its potential - Dragons Den would still rule, especially in dis current climate whereby we all need to find our own businesses sooner or later Then again, I'll put a call to Mr. Elemelu to confirm I am so ready to eat up those dragons ![]() |
Just a word of advice to Nigerians all over (NOTE: this is not a crusade). ![]() Do not take to some faithless morons belief (nairalanders but I spare their names) that the nation and its citizen are doomed to failure as a result of their individual short sight, laziness and arrogance relating to one TV show. In the beginning there was Dragon’s Den and now you even have a new imitation named The Entrepreneur by another bank. The essential truth aside the copycatting is that ideas like this help REAL people who NEED help without demanding much in return from them. That’s what a country like Nigeria desperately needs not greedy selfish people who care not about the needy civilians let alone even inept nairalanders who have nothing positive to say about themselves! Dragons Den was a bold and novel move by UBA /MTN & Storm. Well done to all the Dragons and everybody else who made it happen. Ignore the hatters people, DRAGONS DEN NIGERIA: A TIMELY & WORTHY GESTURE! ![]() On behalf of Nigerians I thank you. |
@ Soloqy Thanks for the update, Sounds like an interesting idea which a lot of people would overlook. But now that it's out there expect Boli at a store near you soon. |
Did anyone see last nights episode of Dragons den on AIT. i missed it but heard that a "boli" seller was able to slay the Dragons, wonderful ![]() |
Anyone see that guy who tried to rob the Den last night in the name of Charity! Smartly the Dragons saw through his shady presentation and scorched his bare behind I cannot get enough of this show. |
Sadly, Philip Osondu - one of nIgerias best emerging stars back in the day is now loafing in Belgium (HAS BEEN FOR A LONG WHILE) doing what he's got to do to feed his family. The guy brought so much pride to Naija that I would respect him and not disclose his job ?. Thinking about such people just vexes you Fatai Atere even once did some small jobs in London as at 1993/4 he should have become a hero Antony Bafoe was last spotted in Germany during the last world cup jumping about anywhere Ghanian team went as one of the "organisers" while Christopher Nwosu was also spotted in East London University about 5 years back studying IT. ![]() |
Seun, we can se that NBL are paying for dominace on nairaland for their no-so-great TV show, Adv ice: try not to sell out as your loyal member will surely dwindle. |
Hmmmmmmm I watched lastnights episode and wondered why the guys with the business Ideas refuse to negotiate terms/percentage with Dragons each time they are offered cash Fear may be, Nice show last night, keep it up as we're all learning while being entertained! |
Nigerians do not have to go all out to invent wierd gadgets without a necessity in place In a place like Nigeria service businesses are more likely to attract investors as trading could be done by anyone as one of the Dragon's noted whilst inventions, well, risky. I like the show, i think Dragons Den is great for Nigeria, I have routed for the show since day one and so proud of how it turn out. Thanks UBA, MTN and Storm. This one show comes smartly with a difference! ![]() |
Anyone get to see the 2nd episode of Dragons Den last night on AIT, i was on my way back home when it started just managed to catch the last few minutes of the Mallam that got 11million. Please fill me in guys ![]() |
Would you guys believe me now? The show was quite good as anticipated! By the way it would also be running on Channels TV Sat. 1-2pm. At least, finally Nigeria seems to be gradually moving up the ladder as per TV programming, how I wish the producers of Dragon's Den had more support for another 3 or 4 nice type shows ![]() |
I would bet my right arm that Dragon's Den is light years away from the Intern or inferior likes. I was priviledged to be at the private screening at Eko Hotel last week with the press. I've seen nothing like it before on Nigerian TV (seriously!!) it's just different from what's out there right now. And yeah! it debut's across Africa tonight 27th July 2008 in a few hours. Hope light dey your area ooo ![]() |
Hi Nairalanders, And finally the Dragons’ have been unleashed!!! http://www.dragonsdennigeria.com/index.html I read in the papers today that show airs from Sunday 27th 9:30pm on AIT and DSTV, can’t wait I’ve been tracking this one since inception, it feels good that UBA & MTN came through! ![]() |
Hi Peps, ![]() A peek at the Nigerian "Dragons attached!, you couldn't possibly imagine (SEUN!!) how far i had to go to get you nairalanders this exclusive never seen anywhere as of yet! Note: All Dragon's Den info is under very strict confidentiality as a result of some shady other bank in "EKO" trying to ripp-off the tv show been out bidded by UBA & MTN . I am sure Storm would make a clear dinstinction of it off the back of The Apprentice ![]()
|
Hi Everybody!!! UBA & MTN are about to UNLEASH THE DRAGONS, however, I can exclusively break to you all that they seem to have scooped something special here, Ibukun Awosika and John Momoh are amonst the five Dragons featuring on Dragons Den- Nigerian version. Can't wait to see the show on TV. One of my friends attended the Abuja enterprenuer bootcamp and mentioned that the organisation was very serious. ![]() |
Hi Peps, Word on the street, ok not on the street but the word around my area is that one of the greatest primetime talent Nigeria has ever produced is making a comeback on Dragons Den as a Dragon. I swore not to unleash this Dragon before the official date but I am sooooo tempted to, ![]() |
Hi Peps, I have been reading the Dragons' Den Ad in the papers and also hearing it on radio lately, have you guys??. Has any one on nairaland applied yet? I overheard from a close source that Dangote would be one of the 5 Dragons putting up money for investment The man has made forbes and now wants some major PR. Aliko could be my business partner anyday!!! Off to the drawing board as I am still evaluating my enrty /business idea doh! |
Ziiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigbo, Why do you think that guy in the south that created Nigeria's first automobile never made it out of his garage Original shows are at times high risk -especially for a big brand (without having to name any misfires). Adaptations are common all over the world today (Millionaire -100+ countries, Deal or No Deal, Big brother, Idols et all are sample of successfull and bankable franchises. Not to say we can't make our own but I'm not sure we're there yet, ultimately.By the way, I think i heard Dragons Den is a collabo btw Storm Vision and the BBC. |
And the sponsors are (African Drum roll) - United Bank For Africa (UBA) and wait for it MTN!!! And the producers of the show are to be Storm Vision (Apprentice Africa /Big Brother Nigeria). There you have it chaps, don't Say nairaland is not the place to see! ![]() |
And if there are people still wondering out there, I am TELLING who the sponsors are @, 7pm today!!! Then it'll make more sense abi ![]() |
Zigbo when you no get money for pocket and no even sabi think to find business to make some money, you are lost in the world you know . This na one good opportunity, make sense of it and if you can't say nothing at all . |
NEWSFLASH!!! People, Dragons Den Nigeria it is -2008 baby. FACT1: It has got the two BIGGEST players in the Banking and Telco sector behind it. This is going to be serious o, well it sound from my sources. Hint1: The two conglomerates sponsoring both have a 3-letter acronym as a brand name, go figure people and get you business ideas ready for a once in a lifetime investment opportunity. Hint 2: Coming soon (Tues). ![]() |
Hi Seun, it took time to get the info from my source. Nigerias version of Dragons Den is on for the new year and it is exactly the same to the originals, the only difference is the Nigerian Tycoons and the gidi business hopefuls ![]() |
@dequeen Do you or your friend possess any previous advertising qualifications if so contact me @realitypie@yahoo.co.uk. You never now what's lurking next door ![]() |
