Thanks for this info.

What do you think are the performance index?

I cannot say for certain what they are as I don’t work with HC but it is likely your performance in all the stages will be considered.

Also talking about the performance index, are they going to use the cumulative of test, OPQ and interview to make their final decision or what?

I believe so. Many people would have performed at par and the deciding factor may just be the other stages of your performance. That’s why it is a benchmarking process, evaluating across all the metrics.

I thought everyone is judged with the same set of people they were interviewed with on the same date, in order to give everyone the same level playing ground?

Definitely not. The recruitment is accessing everyone and your strengths won’t only be measured against those you met on the same day. Remember it is firm wide, so you’ll be evaluated with everyone who has been interviewed for the same set of roles.

Your referees will be contacted only after you get in, not before. It is a requirement for confirmation. There is no way of knowing on the spot, if you are successful or not. Next thing that will happen after this stage is benchmarking when all your performances are weighed against each other and only the best ones will be given offers based on the required numbers to fill across the lines of service.

Nonetheless, just keep your hopes up, you’ve done all you can for now. August might seem like such a long time but you’ll be fine . Ultimately, remain calm, and get prepared. See you at the towers soon!!

Hello everyone,

Thought to drop this piece of advice that worked for me years ago. Try to make an impression at your interview. Nothing too grand or forced, just be natural and out your best foot forward.

The interviewers want to remember you so show them something unique and let it stick.

Again, let it not be forced or look desperate. Relax, enjoy the process and do your best! All the best guys.

Is she not the actress turned evangelist abi na pastor?

And her son died.

We can always rationalise when bad things happen but not before.

If that boy had died when she never turned evangelist, it would have been said it's because of her lifestyle that she didn't accept Jesus as Lord and Saviour.

It is just a test of her "faith," but would have been better if she had used it to prove her "calling" to her haters by preventing it from happening or better still raising the boy back to life.

Anyways, what's the cause of the boy's dead?

No one is in a position to tell what would have been better for the man.

The OP said he died of sickle cell anaemia.

Thanks for replying, but I still don't get. A lot of people have advised me to go for PWC (that's if I get the success mail), but I have not been given a concrete reason.

The thing is, I know those people aren't stupid, they know what they are saying. But, the kind of person I am hates sentiments. I like using facts to judge choices. I lay them side by side and choose.

Sorry, if it seems I'm ranting. I'm just curious to know why PWC is the better choice.

By the way, I am for TRPS for KPMG and Tax Advisory Services for PWC.

If there's one reason that will make me choose PWC, it's working with Taiwo Oyedele. I love working with 'geniuses'.

optimusmind:

I have been asking the same questions since 1984. No one seems to have concrete Answers...
It's just sentiments

Don't Worry. By the time I get the offer, I hope we meet so I can help you explain why those of us who know both firms are suggesting one over the other and it goes beyond sentiments.

Chill.

I'm not chartered yet. It does count when you are in not in recruitment process. When you are in, being chartered differs you from others in terms of salary (you earn more cos you bring in more value in terms of chargeability and knowledge). I should be done by next year, God's willing although I don't know PwC will require me to convert to ICAN before I can make manager. Let's see sha!

I also remember being asked

Tell me about a time you solved a problem using unconventional methods
Tell me about a time you got bad feedback and how you handled it
Have you applied to any other firms and how far have you gone (I mentioned all the ones I had applied for)
What will you do if your manager told you relay a very bad news to your client? I said I would, then asked how will I approach such a task.

See you guys in July. Time to recline to my sober place.

My interview experience was like Eljay described (did mine yesterday). These are my opinions oh, not necessarily the opinion of the panel.

Group discussion was great. We delegated at the meeting before meeting the panel. Topic was on Child abuse and how to solve the problems surrounding protection of Child rights in Nigeria. We were able to discuss and present with 2 minutes to spare.

One-on-one discussion started with them asking me to rate my team members (I mentioned the names as best as I could and also indicated that there was lovely synergy between us). They went to ask me the following questions, (as much as I could remember)
- Why PwC
- My most challenging experience working in a team (they asked me this twice)
- A question tailored to my field of study
- 2 recent local and international news each. Including one significant news related to my field
- New development in IFRS (I think it's cos I already have a experience so you might not be asked this)
I asked them 2 questions after that and we left.

Generally, I think it went well. The panel looked relaxed and interested. Mine was maybe the shortest cos I spent less than an hr with them. I also noted that they discuss at length after meeting each person maybe to compare notes and decide on their final position. Try to be confident, audible and maintain eye contact. I believe it is important that they see you are able to hold your own in a tensed up situation.

It was a pleasure meeting everyone yesterday oh. Mcpat, Gnen (who I thought will be a female), r4blessing and the rest whose monikers I don't know. I hope the news in July is favorable.
