Why?

Cos if they are 100% sure he'd marry them it means he has shown signs of proposing. They'd rather wait it out to either enjoy the feeling of being proposed to or to uphold their honour, self-esteem or whatever it is they call it.

You know......I used to be one sided in this Israel-Palestine thing. But I am not now...and infact blame both sides for refusing to play the compromise game.

The thing is....there is the possibility of a peace agreement. But both sides make unreasonable demands out of each other. Israel refuses to stop settlement building. Palestinian Arabs (really, before 1947....all both Jews and Arabs on the Holy Land were palestinians)...want to go back to the lands they were chased out from. Hamas wants to drive off Israel. The Govt in charge of Israel believes that disproportionate millitary response will teach Hamas a lesson. And hundreds of Palestinians....and even scores of Israelis die....and both sides can't think of a compromise.

You Nigerians should stop taking sides. You are supporting two sets of stubborn elephants who both think they are right. And they continue to believe that they are right. A recipie for disaster.

In my humble opinion....Israel should allow limited resettlement of Palestininan refugees in Eretz Israel(the majority should be resettled in other Arab and ME countries) and stop settlement construction. Hamas ,Islamic Jihad should stop asking for the destruction of the Jewish State...and should also stop shooting missiles into Israel. Honestly both sides should compromise. Thousands are already dead...and thousands more will die.

This is a very wonderful article, very deep and I agree with writer in many of the aspects that she outlined. For example, people faking accents because they think Nigerian accent is too rustic, or that using a foreign accent is superior. It truly annoys me, especially when I turn on the radio only to hear OAPs blasting fake British accents.
As for the issue of ladies' using artificial hair and nails, I do not really have a problem with that. I believe that every lady has the rights to do what she thinks will make her look beautiful, although in moderation, as inner beauty is what truly matters.
Concerning religion, the writer was speaking from an atheist's point of view. As a christian, I, of course, believe that Christianity is the true religion, and anything that affiliates me with a strange religion, I'd want to cut it off. I don't think Christianity is such a 'western affair', although it was brought into Nigeria by the Europeans. It's more like a personal decision.
In general, I totally agree with the writer that the African culture is being eroded.

My Opinion

It's better to keep it outside the kitchen. Gas leaks can occur, and it will be disastrous if it happens when the burner is on.
