The death sentence is a controversial topic. For some people it's kill and be killed. Some others argue that taking human life for any reason is inhumane. The death sentence becomes even more problematic given that once carried out it's irreversible. Sadly, there are many cases of executions that have turned out to be miscarriages of Justice. For a country like Nigeria with a judiciary that is what it is, one will be circumspect supporting the death penalty.

Good, the banner was unnecessary, religious matter is very sensitive in Nigeria. The person that posted it online might not even be that religious, but look at how it caused public outcry.

Why obsession with so- called sanctions? In fact sanctions on serious nations is a blessing because it will force them to look inward. That's what Iran is doing - despite useless sanctions they've improved their indigenous technologies exponentially and are now making electric cars, planes etc, not to talk of their sophisticated arms industry. Russia is also under sanctions but, ironically, it's the "sanctioners" that are feeling the pinch!
