Search houses/room for rent in propertynews.com or propertypal.com.

You can select "Lisburn" to limit the search to Lisburn. Alternatively, search with Lisburn postcodes - BT27 or BT28. You can also stay in Finaghy - BT10 or Lisburn or Malone Road - BT 9 but these areas are more expensive.

@everyone, Pls I just got my skilled worker visa and have paid for Airbnb for 1 week in belfast, Northern Ireland because I need to a base to operate and collect my brp at the post office there.

Pls do you know how to get a cheap house/room(shared flat) to rent in Lisburn area Northern Ireland, my work place.

My employer said I must have a permanent address to start my role with them and this must be done within 28days of my approved sponsored start date.

I plan to be in the country this thursday 11th April to obtain my brp and generate my share code .

The whole thing is quite overwhelming and have started stressing me out

Yes, just speak to your mortgage advisor.

Santa2:
I have come again with my plenty questions...After one gets an mortgage offer from a lending institution, Several people have said you can always re apply in the event the interest rate goes down before completion, If you got the offer through a mortgagee advisor, do you reapply through the advisor or you just go direct to the lender?

The refund should automatically be processed. However, sometimes the automatic refund process does not work. I went through a similar process recently and did not get automatically refunded so I sent an email to (TransactionalServicesCorrespondence@homeoffice.gov.uk) and (ukvinhsteam@homeoffice.gov.uk) requesting for the refund. I provided the following details for both payments:
• Name:
• Date of IHS payment:
• Visa Duration:
• Amount:
• IHS reference number:
• Visa type:

Following my email, they processed my request a week later and replied to my email to let me know.

Note that the HIS Refund will be paid to the card that you used to pay for the initial IHS (not the second one). Also they only refund in blocks of 6 full months overlapping from your initial IHS payment period.
koonbey:

Thanks for sharing this!

I just called UKVI and the person I spoke to said the same thing.

You have the make the full IHS payment to cover the period you're applying for, but they will automatically refund the unused period of the previous overlapping visa.
It's still not clearly stated on the website (I prefer to have evidence in black and white) but it's safe to conclude this is the way it is.

I didn't know this was possible, and it's a great relief.

I also suggest you let it slide. It is unfortunate that you did not know about checking the circuit breaker. However, it will be hard for you to argue that it is the landlord's responsibility to pay for the callout. As a general rule, the tenant is responsible for switching back on a tripped circuit breaker while the landlord is responsible for replacing a damaged/broken circuit breaker.

Cleanworld:

Let it slide please, its one of those things. I presume you must have used a faulty eletric kettle or some faulty appliances that triggers the power off from the circuit breaker/ switch board. Once you know what the trigger is next time just go to the board and switch it on (its second to the last switch in most cases). If you want to push this further you will end shootn your own foot. Take care

Adazeal:
Hi guys, please look at this issue and let me know if I'm wrong or not.

My power supply tripped off very early in the morning of a certain day, unfortunately, it was only mine that went off. I called 105 and my energy supplier, after series of questions and information I gave them from both my gas and electric meters, they confirmed my meters were working fine and that I should contact my landlord for internal issues.

I called my letting agency as I got the apartment through them and complained to them about the power cut. They didn't get back to me and I called them later in the afternoon (meanwhile I had no power supply or even gas as the gas switch works with electricity) and they said oh they'd contact their emergency technician. Meanwhile, I received a voicenote from them when they couldn't reach me saying if it's not an emergency they wouldn't pay the bills.

Late into the afternoon I didn't hear back from them and decided to put a call across while telling them it's an emergency as it's almost dusk and I still have no gas and electricity. At the end of the day, the electrician came along, went to the electric meter and turned a number of switches on and off and the power was restored. Few minutes later, it tripped off again as a socket was about getting plugged which was what actually led to the first power cut but we didn't know it was what caused it. Because of this, the electrician checked some sockets in the apartment and found nothing wrong with them. However, he removed a partially faulty bulb and it's placeholder which I earlier complained about when I initially moved into the apartment and said that might be the cause of the tripping.

Now, the letting agency is telling me that I'm liable for the bills as it wasn't an emergency that I should have switched the circuit breaker/ switch board, that it's expected of me to do that. I told them I'm not liable as I had no idea where the fault was from and moreover I'm not an electrician. They're claiming now that they asked me over the phone if I have turned the switch board which they never did ask me. I told them I believe they record their calls and should go and listen again (they said they don't record calls and I recommended calling the telecommunication company for them to verify). I went ahead to tell them that even if they did I wouldn't know how to do it (the switch boards) as there are couple of switches to turn on and off which I wouldn't have known which is the right one. I also reminded them that the power tripped off again when a socket was about being plugged which indicates there must be an internal issue, in addition, that a lamp holder which I earlier complained about was completely removed by the electrician which he actually said might be what is triggering the power cut.

They're not happy with my stand and they're saying they'd report me to the landlord that I've breached the contract as my call wasn't an emergency call (was without electricity and gas for close to 12 hours) and that if I don't pay, the technical company might charge me to court and I told them to go ahead as I did everything within my ability to tend to this issue before coming to them and moreso, I am not the cause of the electrical fault.

Please, I just want to be sure that I'm right so I can stand well or just close eyes and pay the so called bills.

Your opinions please. Sorry for the long read

They must pay and that's a fact, payments may start trickling in today.

The effects of the last Re-Run Elections have shown them that is nolonger business as usual. so they need the civil servants more than we need them not now.

The government has already said it pay December salary before Christmas. This has nothing to do with rerun elections which the pdp won most seats anyway. Many state governors didn't pay salaries and still won reelection eg Osun. So stop bringing politics all the time into salary issue.

Good to hear June arrears are dropping in, any word on December & Christmas bonus?

If this gov't wants to be taken seriously by workers it should endeavour to start paying before any given month runs out.

Meanwhile who else got a form for another round of verification? In fact my Principal advised us not to travel because we just might be called up during the holidays (Obio Akpor, UBE) angry

RSG CLEARS SIX MONTHS PENSION ARREARS AFTER BIOMETRIC EXERCISE

Rivers State Government has cleared the 6 months outstanding pension arrears for all pensioners who have completed their biometric exercise/.

State Commissioner of Finance , Dr Fred Kpakol told newsmen that this is in line with the commitment of Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike to the welfare of retired workers.

The Finance Commissioner noted that the Wike administration will always give priority attention to the welfare of its workforce and retired workers.

He stated that the Rivers State Government has paid civil servants up to October 2016.

He noted that the remaining 18000 teachers who have completed their biometric capture would be paid their remaining two months outstanding salaries before the end of the year.

It will be recalled that Governor Wike inherited 4 months civil servants salaries and 8 months pension from the failed immediate past Amaechi administration , which it cleared.

The administration thereafter embarked on biometric capture of civil servants and pensioners in the state to determine its workforce and retired workers .

The NUT chairman should resign if he cannot do his job because of threat. Let a more courageous person take over.

The allocation is always shared d next month. (Eg) d one shared last week 20/10/2016 was dat of september.

That's the exact point I'm making. The figures being brandied now is the August allocation figures which were shared in September. The amount shared last week is the actual September allocation and the figure is much more lower than the September figures.

Anyways, anyone still I doubt or confused can click on the link l posted earlier and watch the video evidence.

These figures are actually for the allocation shared in September 2016. The figures for each state shared this month isn't yet released but it will be lower than last month's because the overall allocation fell from N510 to N420 billion

Use UBA card

Just a friendly advice to those wishing to pay for IHS and visa fees or those already in UK wishing to withdraw Pounds with their MasterCard.

In the past one week, UBA offers the best rate. As at today, Pounds card payment is about N478 Naira. What's more is that they have a daily Web payment limit of equivalent of N500k . So you can use it to pay for both ihs and visa fees.

l hope this helps.

Hi everyone, being a silent observer for sometime...but everything I have read here has been most helpful. So thanks..
However, I have a small issue ; I was at my bank today (gtb) and was told I could only pay my visa application fee and Surcharge using a dollar card which I don't have...so who knows what banks or bank would let one pay the total thing in a day...I know this question has been asked like a million times, but I was just wondering...like who has paid most recently and what bank naira card did u use, if u did. Also can one pay for a value added service in cash on the day of their appointment in abuja?
Thanks.....smiley

You can pay for both of them with a GT card as long as they are under $1000.

Alternatively, use Skye Bank ($2000 monthly limit) or UBA (Equivalent of N500000 daily limit).

Baba Justwise no vex o. I was just interpreting what I saw from the mail sent by Sheffield to me and other applicants. They made it clear that the 15 working days are specifically for processing. And of course processing starts from the point of reception by the UKVI not the VAC. In fact the VAC guys can not even do anything about your application until they receive any instruction from the Home office. I stand to be corrected though and I still respect your wealth of experience in this field. Respect![quote]

You are right to the extent that the 15 days is for processing. However, you are wrong to count processing days from date of submission to UKVI. That is not the case

The VAC operator (Teleperformance) acts for and on behalf of UKVI. In other words, they represent the UkVI. As such, once you submit your application to them, you have submitted to UKVI. Processing time thus starts running from that date.

Hello All,

Please I need some help.

Filled the visa application online today for myself, wife and baby but have some questions.

Firstly, the health and visa totals about £3009 but CBN policy wouldn't allow me make the payments, please what other options are available.

Secondly, I got to the health payment page but the form showed only my details without my dependants, please any body whose has successfully filled and paid for self and dependants to advise.

Thanks

First of all, the IHS fee is paid separately from the visa. You can therefore use different bank cards for the IHS and the visasurrounding.

Second, create three different applications within the same account. That why, you will pay the IHS fee for each person separately. Same for the visa fees.

Bottom line is, you need at least 3 different bank cards to make the payment. Alternatively, open a domiciliary account, buy forex, pay it in and use it to pay.

Hi all, pls if main tier 4 applicant and dependent applied at the same time, will d dependent be interviewed? Also if they apply at different time, will d dependent be interviewed?? Thanks for your response

Dependants are not normally interviewed whether they apply together with, or, separately from, the main applicants.

However, as with the case in all visa application, the DM reserves the right to conduct an interview if and when necessary.
