GOOD NEWS FOR APPLICANTS RACING AGAINST TIME.

"UK launches 24-hour visa service in Nigeria

The UK has launched Super Priority Visa Service in Nigeria to allow customers to process their applications within 24 hours.

The British High Commission, on its website, said the new service would meet the needs of those who require urgent service to travel.

The British High Commissioner, Paul Arkwright, expressed delight over the introduction of the Super Priority Visa service in Nigeria.

Arkwright said, “I am pleased to see the Super Priority Visa service being launched in Nigeria.

“This comes with an additional cost but is designed to give greater flexibility to our customers and underlines our strong commitment to make improvements to the visa services we offer.

“We expect this new service to be particularly useful for business. We understand that business opportunities and urgent requirements can arise at very short notice.

“We recognise this and want to facilitate such travel to the UK with this new super-fast service.”

The High Commission said the introduction of the service allowed customers greater flexibility to choose from a number of visa products to meet their needs.

“It is offered alongside our current Priority Visa (front of queue processing five to seven-day) and standard (15-day) services.

“The UK is the only European country to offer a visa decision in 24 hours.

“The Super Priority Visa service is aimed largely at key business customers and those needing to travel urgently by providing a visa decision for collection at the Visa Application Centre the working day following submission.”

It said the service costs 750 Pounds in addition to the visa fee and would be available to eligible customers applying in the Abuja and Lagos Visa Application Centres.

The High Commission said those applying in the “Visitors” or “Points Based System Tier 4” are eligible to use the Super Priority Service.

It said appointments are available from Mondays to Thursday from 8.30 a.m. to 10 a.m. and Fridays from 8.30 a.m. to 9 a.m. at the Abuja and Lagos centres only.

“Extending the Super Priority Visa service to Nigeria is another example of how the UK is leading the world in the provision of premium visa services for those coming to the UK to visit, do business or to study."

Enough of the complains.
If you look clearly, you'd find that I did not make any complain. I only explained the reason for the increase. So you are looking for where to vent your frustration, please take it elsewhere.

Well, it is not unexpected. The test fee is $130 or its equivalent in Naira. They have simply adjusted the exchange rate from N200/$1 to N315/$1.

We should even be happy that they used the interbank rate rather than black market rate.

Next time, people will be more careful not to vote a dullard for President

You are just making much ado about nothing. Simply get your husband to apply with you or with the kids and then get him to escort you and the kids to the UK. After then, nobody cares if he remains in the UK or not.

I am trying to bring my dependent ( Nigerian fiancé and soon to be husband) to the UK. I am American and I have a tier 4 visa lasting 5 years plus sponsorship. My bf and I have been dating for some years now and we have decided to do a ceremony at the end of 2016. We met while we were in the UK years back. The problem is he overstayed in the UK because he thought he could find a job through sponsorship but that was a fail.

I was wondering will he be denied to be my dependent if he apply two months after the wedding. It wouldn't have been a year since he has left the UK. We have the money to show the 9X 850.
How long did he overstay and did he leave voluntarily at his own expense?

https://www.gov.uk/tb-test-visa/overview

Who doesn’t need to be tested
You won’t need a TB test if any of the following apply:

you’re a diplomat accredited to the UK
you’re a returning UK resident and haven’t been away for more than 2 years
you lived for at least 6 months in a country where TB screening is not required by the UK, and you’ve been away from that country for no more than 6 months

Regardless of the type of visa and you've spent more than 6 months, you are exempted. You were told about returning resident which is corrent but i guess you weren't told about the bolded smiley
Oh oK. The bolded wasn't there in 2014 when l applied. They must have added it after 2014.

Hello everyone,

Please, does anyone have a valid information about the TB certificate. I have just return from UK for my MSc and applying again for my PhD. Considering the fact that I have not spent up to 6 month in Nigeria, do I need to do the TB test again. Please, responses from people that have had this experience is highly needed.

Thanks
You have to.

I was in similar situation and was told l would only be exempt if l am a Returning Resident. A new Tier 4 visa is an entirely new permission to be in the UK. As such a tb test is required.

Note however that if you fail to do it, the ECO may still decide to grant based on your circumstances. He may well refuse based on the law. It's a risk not worth taking.

Yes its not late and he also stated that a friend of his applied to Abuja and got her visa early enough. Or u simply pay for priority at Lagos.
To support your point, a close relative applied in Abuja for Tier 4 visa last week Tuesday, got decision email on Wednesday, got passport returned to TLP email on Thursday and received passport by courier in Port Harcourt on Friday.

She didn't use priority.

Point is, the forex rate and hardship in the country has significantly reduced visa applications for study. There is therefore no need to worry about timing now.

For the records, the Tier 4 Policy Guidance allows the use of as many accounts as possible as long as they are in the name of the applicant or the applicant's parent in appropriate cases.

"195. Where evidence from two or more accounts is submitted, we will assess the funds available to you as being:
• the closing balance of one account, plus
• any additional money available to you on the date of that closing balance, for which you have provided the required evidence."

PoliticsBuhari Orders Removal Of Military Checkpoints Nationwide by muami(op): 5:21pm On Jun 22, 2015
President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday ordered the removal of all military checkpoints set up in the wake of Boko Haram activities across the country.

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Defence, Aliyu Ismaila, disclosed this to State House correspondents after a meeting Buhari had with service chiefs at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Ismaila said the meeting had further encouraged the security chiefs to do more in the war against insurgency because of the leadership being provided by the President who is a retired military officer.

LETTER TO MY SON AS WE HEAD TO THE POLLS TOMORROW:

My Dear Tekkyboy,
I know how much you dream to be the President of Nigeria someday. I recall with laughter how you used to insist that I call you Mr. President. I also recall your promise to make me one of your special advisers when you become president.

You can therefore understand why I'm writing you today about Presidential elections that will hold in Nigeria tomorrow. Obviously, you are not constitutionally eligible to contest now neither are you eligible to vote. Nevertheless, the elections should interest you as the outcome may significantly affect your dreams.

In this elections, we again face the old order in Nigeria where you must have been a coup plotter/beneficiary of a coup and must have held office in the past as a military head of state before you can make a good presidential material. This old order made us to elect a certain Obasanjo as President in 1999. It is also the reason why a certain Buhari is contesting tomorrow’s Presidential election.

As you know my son, coup plotting and military rule are no longer fashionable in most parts of the world, including Africa. This means that the chances of you becoming a coup plotter and a military head of state is very slim. As such, if we are to stick with the old order where you need to have been a coup plotter and military ruler, your chances of becoming the President you dream about will be very slim.

We also face a choice in this elections between the past and the present. On the one hand, we have a candidate who has had his opportunities in the past and has clearly passed his productive years. On the other hand, we have a candidate who is in his prime. Yes, he is not perfect, as no man is, but this is his time.

My son, I have always told you that you need to grow up in character and learning so that you can achieve you dream of being a President quickly. I also recall telling you countless times that you and your peers are the leaders of tomorrow. So I'm sure you’d be worried when you see some persons, including parents saying that we need to go to the ‘past’ to bring a seventy-something year old man to come and ‘change’ Nigeria.

I know how much this can affect your psyche and the psyche of many Nigerian children like you. This is because I know you’re smart enough to begin to imagine that that if a seventy-something year old wants to take your dad's 'today', then there is a possibility that your dad may want to take your ‘tomorrow’.

I want to however assure you that when I say you and your peers are the leaders of tomorrow, I actually meant it and so do many parents all over Nigeria. As the saying goes, actions speak louder than words. So, as I head to the polls tomorrow, I shall firmly put my vote where our mouth is. I shall reject the old order and the past which has the potentials to stifle your dreams and that of millions of Nigerian children.

My decision goes beyond the personalities of President Jonathan and his challenger Buhari. It is about you, my son. It is a vote to assure you that when I'm seventy-something and you are in your prime, I shall let you lead and have your ‘tomorrow’ we are talking about today. It is a vote to let you know that I shall not come to your ‘future’ to try to steal your ‘tomorrow.’ Whatever 'change' the country may need ‘tomorrow’, I'm sure you and your peers can make it happen. As for me, I shall be content in playing the advisory role you promised me.

So, tomorrow, by God’s grace, I shall vote for you, son. I shall vote to keep your dreams alive by voting for the candidate whose time is now!

Bye for now and talk to you later.
Your Dad.

If you can only get to Markudi from PH by passing through Enugu, why not just say that Markudi to Kaduna is now left to complete, rather than muddling things up with the already completed PH-Enugu-Markudi line?

See how GEJ and his handlers do not know how to say their achievements (and there are many achievements) clearly?
You obviously lack knowledge of how rail line operates. For your information, rail line network is not like road network. I don't blame you though. If Buhari had not destroyed our rail system in 1983 - 1985, you've had known more about rail.
