If you ever find yourself in any, you'll see that all these things we try to curtail here, are things that freely happen in them.
People post their dashboards freely, talk about their hours online, their strategies, the time they leave home and when they close at night. People share their daily encounters and discoveries there.

Someone can just wake up and say "it's 4am, I'm just going to brush my teeth and heat the road before 4:30am. I must work today till 11pm then I'll rest tomorrow" and he will do just that. He will even post his dashboard to prove it.

Someone could just be stranded with car issue somewhere, he will just say it in the group and another person will reply him to calm down, that he's on his way to help him out.

There're things you would say and someone would reply you to not say it outside so that the wrong person will not hear it. (just like the issue of saka. You'll see people that are still using it)

But this place is a public domain. Nothing is private here, yet we're meant to keep certain things private.
If you want to help people, you can say it here and they will contact you. You can then motivate them with your earnings and strategies cos it's not everyone that's reading this thread that is with us. There're definitely people against us here, though we may not know if they're actually a threat.

I don’t know anything about driving for earnings bro. Friends come together to create a savings group and set milestones to help each other. I just feel it’s not easy waking up everyday doing the same thing especially if the day before you are unfortunate enough to meet a Nigerian female who decided to be crazy. I mean drivers complain about this everyday. I just feel if there is a WhatsApp group that you motivate each other with weekly rewards for milestones reached then there is a way it will push the rest. As for down time with cars, that will surely happen to everyone cos everyone is using cars to run the business and everybody’s downtime will come too. But the determination to quickly get it fixed to meet the milestone is what differs and that could also help you get on the road quick. Reason it’s not possible that only one person will be the one winning every week. Like I earlier said, it is not a must, it’s just a suggestion I feel could help people here who are finding it more difficult to hit the road daily. It is not easy as someone of us need a little more push to go on everyday.

I’m not an Uber/bolt driver though but anytime this topic comes up I find myself reading it. Cos I just respect guys who try to hustle and make a living for themselves even with how frustrating Nigeria and it’s girls are frustrating, y’all are still pushing ahead. May God almighty in his mercies make it soft for y’all. I just humbly want to suggest to y’all that is it not possible to have groups of drivers like y’all create a WhatsApp group of say 20 or 30 drivers or more and push each other every week to achieve milestones. And those that come 1st to 3rd get rewards. Like I mean y’all can drop like 10k or 5k for the group and those that come first to 3rd share it or whatever way y’all decide. y’all get the gist sha. I just think it will help those in the group achieve more and also it will get more interesting too. When you are fighting to win the cash gift at the end of the week. The fact that anyone can hop on here to transact with an anonymous account makes it the ideal place for scammers to thrive.

Many of them come here to buy and sell stolen funds and that is the bitter truth. It is now totally up to the individuals trading to approach each trade with extreme caution.

I do not subscribe to the thought that anyone here can be trusted. The only person you can trust on a place like Nairaland is someone you know personally or someone you know their social media activities and reputation elsewhere like Facebook. Nairaland was designed to be a faceless forum and scammers are actively taking advantage of this to ply their trade here.

It's even made worse by the fact that some of those who have become popular have now constructed an iron throne here to monopolize everything, defame and bully those who don't subscribe to their ways. Imagine how Dangote has monopolized certain sectors of the economy and the various dirty tactics he uses to keep competition at bay... Then you'll realise how certain persons here are doing same, albeit under the shadows of the popularity they have gained.

I believe this is true because I have seen this play out even on forums where there's a certain level of identity verification compared to here where all you need is an email to register and start posting fraudulent adverts after few weeks.

The issue is made worse when there's a mod who isn't actively monitoring things here and who takes sides with those who have gained popularity but could have monopolistic and malicious tendencies as well.

If this place wants to be cleaned up, seun should make it mandatory for those commenting on or accessing this thread to submit further identity verification documents like their government issued identity cards, phone numbers and proof of address via bank statements.

But this would require significant amount of coding and he wouldn't want to since users won't be paying for the service.

Alternatively, a deadline should be given for those who want to do escrow on this thread to get their business license and undergo verification. After the deadline, the old list can be scrapped and the new one put up, filled with those who pass through the verification which must include proper kyc and document verification by different mods to avoid one corrupting the process.

The verified escrows can charge for their service and they too must pay a certain agreeable and feasible sum to seun to remain listed as an escrow.

Everyone trading would then be advised to go through such escrow to avoid being scammed and a constant reminder should be placed to that effect when a person is commenting like on the Islam thread where you have to accept Allah before you comment... Anything to repeatedly remind users to go through escrow should be done.

Lastly, only verified scams should be posted here and on the scam thread with details of the scammer and clear evidence.

False accusations based on suspicion should be totally banned as it's against rules 2, 3 and 8 and it can be used by any malicious character to unjustly promote or defame others. Think Dangote dirty business tactics to maintain his monopoly.

I feel that if all the stringent measures above are improved and put in place, scamming here will fall by 95% or more.

Those who still go ahead to fall victims while bypassing the security measures here should kindly blaim themselves and not drag everyone to join in their woes.

I also don’t really like meddling in people’s businesses but I feel if I don’t expose this scammer called tshege I will not be doing the world a favour. He claims to be able to check out alibaba on any amount you need to be checked out. Upon my enquiry, I informed him that I needed him to help me check out an item on alibaba and he told me he needed my password and email address. That sounded fishy to me as Something was always telling me he is a fraud but he sounded convincing so I furnished him my email and password so that he could be able to access my Alibaba account on my behalf and check it out. At first I wanted to involve Wese90 but the i.diot was like he needed to check whether my account could accept card payment first before involving Wese90. Even though I told him it could, the ba.stard was like I wouldn’t know until he checked. Well, to cut the long story short I gave him my email and password and the first thing this good for nothing Imbec.Ile did was to try to change my password and email address. Alibaba alerted me immediately that I needed to send a code sent to my email for my password and email address to be changed. At this point I was confused and very cautious. The mu.mu buzzed me that I should send him the code. Guess what? I sent it to him but luckily for me it had passed 59 seconds before I sent it to him. So Alibaba had auto cancelled the particular code I sent. So I questioned him also that I wasn’t comfortable with the code thing and all as it meant he had intended to change my email and password and he should have nothing to do with that.
