I don't like sharing stories like this but I'm really moved to share cos a lot of people are going through problems and I really feel bad about it. There is this friend of mine, he used to work in a bank b4 the usual sack without prior notice, Typical. He was home depressed and sad as hell. Kids and wife were confused until d day d wife made donut and puff puff 1 weekend and his wife asked him whether he liked it and he said he did. The wife asked him what if they made it to sell in a bus stop, ofcourse he opposed the idea, Ex banker and all to be selling puff puff, hell No! Against all odds d wife proceeded to d bus stop in company of 2 other young girls to sell puff puff samosa etc at the bus stop. This man said, on d same day when he got home in d night and saw d amount of money on d table, he screamed and asked his wife whether everything was made on d day and she said yes. He said, he was d one that woke his wife up for them to go to d bustop d next day. To cut d story, together they were able to open 4 other branches in Lagos within 3 months. This man opened up to me that there was no way each branch didnt pull in 35 to 40k per day in net profit. Now multiply x 4. Per day. He told me this 3 years ago. As at d last time we spoke he had moved from d mainland to lekki phase 1 and they both drive Suvs now. There is no time he talks about his wife that doesn't get teary eyed. He says the wife made him, can you blame him. The same stupid bank that sacked him now came to one of his shops advising him to use their POS. See life. I know many people will still oppose this but if I tell you how much people are making from just picking cartons and selling to companies you will probably never believe it. The truth is how much can these jobs even pay as salaries. The reality in Nigeria is that we need to start thinking beyond those white collar jobs. School is definitely not a waste of time as it will set u apart even if u are packing poop, it will definitely give you an edge. But d reality is that we can never all be employed. We need to look around us, forget the certificate for a while and monetize your society and environment. How much do these govt jobs pay in reality. 300k, 400k at best. Usually 100 to 200k. how many problems can these sums solve in Nigeria today. I can tell you people make this in just 3 days providing for necessities. At the end of the day u have a business your children can inherit. I'm not against seeking employment, I totally understand but if it's not coming Pls forget that certificate and just do something. Provide a need and in d end I can assure u ur 2 1 or 2 2 will not matter anymore. In the end you will be the one looking to employ people. Even abroad there are no good jobs anymore. Just jobs to make people get bye. You have tried so much to serve people in their offices, you have tried 5 6 7 times now have you tried serving yourself for once. Don't you trust yourself enough? What if your success is within you? If you don't try you won't know though. Be safe!

Always read to understand not read to reply. I said earlier that the court case would prevent nnpc from releasing APL publicly as their lawyers know the consequence of such. I also posited that they might decide to circumvent that by recruiting clandestinely as that would stop anyone from raising any alarm about recruitment. Like they say what you don't know can't kill you.

So yall just concluded that guy's sister hasn't started working and immediately chose to start cursing him out? Do you guys do this cos you genuinely don't believe him or ur are just very scared he might be correct. Rather than insult this man why not get his info and send to NNPC's MD telling him about d recent development you heard, tag elrufai or whoever. Woow, so APL has not dropped. If only NNPC would consider insults the APLs would have dropped 3 months ago. So Napoleon wasn't right after all, we don dey enter December o. He should come out and explain why he had to deceive people. Some of us who said the truth recieved different kind of insults just cos of his assertions. I genuinely felt positivity would actually drop this APL faster o since we d so called negative ones don't want it out. Ordinary 20 people replacement for MDAs take months, you want NNPC who supposedly intends to recruit thousands to be done in 5 to 6 months. The thing is some of you don't know anything about FG especially, the only thing in your heads are insults. Remove the insults from it you find them shallow and lacking any intellectual ability to analyze situations. APL will not drop in December, january, February or even March. An mda conducted interview a year before Jonathan tenure ended, they were only called 2 years into Buhari's tenure. That's like 3 years. Even private companies take time too because there are alot of things to put in place before employees come on board. Offices to use, money and many other numerous internal adjustments let alone NNPC who supposedly intends to recruit in all the 36 states of the federation. Do you know how many approvals and documents that need signing. You don't know this but you think NNPC chairman should be as anxious as you who is jobless. Don't go and distract yourself while waiting for the APL. Be opening emails everyday like person wey dey expect 50 dollars from him aunt abroad. Everyone telling u d truth na hater. My God how low can you get Pls while at it I learnt deji Adeyanju is in Abuja, give him small change and he will lead ur protest to NNPC headquarters. That will speed things up really fast.

Truth of the matter also remains that if not that we as a people are innately selfish and don't care about anyone else apart from ourselves, the case the lawyer is pursuing is actually for the good of everyone. Why segregate one aspect of the society because of age which is totally no fault of theirs. If we had an outta of selflessness we will all rally round the lawyer to pursue the case. This is the same thing our leaders do too. They don't care about anyone else apart from themselves and their family. Ask yourself this. If NNPC has pegged the age at 20 to which many people here would have been disqualified do you think you will be supporting the lawyer or not. This is also why our prayers seems never to get answered because God sees our minds that we are just pursuing our selfishness. Good night

I spoke with ss2 HSE staff at nnpc, he told me about the speculation of releasing apl this week or next. But asked if i have called another brother who works with HR nnpc? I said no but we exchanged Friday greetings via text. He directed i shall call him to confirm. I placed a call to him by 7:30pm and we spoke. I asked him about same speculation of releasing apl this week or next. He said is not true. His response:
" we just came out of meeting, i arrived home not past 20 mins. It may occur in December and may be January or February. Dont u know that we are even pursuing court case? mtsss (as in worried about the process) nothing for now i am telling you (he called my name) ". He prayed the best for me and i thanked him.

I like this apl pass i think, my promotion to same SS level i applied wt nnpc is due by Dec 03. Any date after Dec 03 i am just demoted. But we have to stick on the reality. As i have said, is hard for nnpc to shun court case, being BUHARI as the petroleum minister.

Shebi I'm the negative person who doesn't want APL released. I have told you many times you are living in your head. Free this APL of a thing and get busy una no gree. As a legal practitioner I will tell you for free that the lawyer has a very strong case. Continue choosing pension managers and debating who to meet at the towers. Infact with the way some of you behave it's enough to annoy God to stop them from sharing anything. Right now you are closer to APC than APL get it into your head now.

Many people are now insane in this place cos of APL. He posted an information he saw, rather than appreciating him you decided to be cursing. If this isn't madness I don't know what is anymore. I will also tell you free of charges that NNPC dare not make any move concerning this recruitment until the suit is resolved in the court of law. Their lawyers know the implication of that. Infact I will tell you that it's in your interest not to get this APL now cos if you get it against the court orders even if it takes the court 5 years all the people employed will still be layed off and a new recruitment will have to be done. Another thing you should also consider is that as bad as it may sound, the lawyer has a very strong case. 75% sure he may win the case as limitation of age runs contrary to the provisions of our constitution. You people must think that court of law is just for decoration. Reserve your curses well, don't use all yet you will be needing many more of it as sadly APL may not resolved soon. Cursing innocent people here doesn't change a thing. You are just sinking deeper into insanity. Free yourself, get busy.

It's almost as if people want others to cook up stories just to make them feel good about this APL. This place has made me seen how
incredibly desperate humans can become. Some are already talking of pension and accounts to maintain as if they are already working in nnpc. it's crazy I swear. Assuming APL comes of today how are you certain you will even get it. The Dpr recruitment page after months of following up only about 2 or 3 people got d APL on nairaland at d end. The rest nobody knows where dpr sent it. Seriously, you guys need to care about your mental health, stop day dreaming about the vacations and the fat salaries you will be getting. If APL doesn't come at all which is 85% possible and also the 90% chance if it comes out not more than 2 or 3 will get it here, you will sink into a whole that will be difficult for u to come out. I feel bad the country make people get this way even after years of schooling. Also, it's because Nigerian youth do not want to get their hands dirty. Have you not noticed that one so called great info usually come out after one event or the other at NNPC. Nobody knows anything about this recruitment in my opinion. We have all seen this before. No be today.

Its either all our news agencies do not understand the meaning of status quo or the courts are not clear and need to properly define what they mean when they say status quo should be maintained to avoid ambiguity and misdirection of the ruling and the populace. Maintaining status quo literally means a continuation of state of things till further hearing. It somewhat wants to connote a stoppage which can be miscontrued.

From the link above the IGP is claiming that he was not served any court order and the reason for the release of the list. The police did not even respond to the case at all and proceeded to release the list unlike NNPC that responded after 7 months and wants to toe the path of law or else they should have just released it without responding.

Our minister of petroleum has an unquenchable desire to disobey court orders and persons in his government can try to adopt that methodology.

Whatever the case, there was no reported case of gross irregularity that should mar the NNPC recruitment publicly unlike other agencies that carried out secret recruitments. The issue of age should be trivial as NNPC has successfully adopted similar age criteria in past recruitments.

The court can only rule for change of age for future recruitments and the ruling cannot affect the current one as it was not marred by stated irregularities coupled with investments put into it. NNPC may have stylishly waited for the process to get to the completion stage and then legitimise it based on their internal procedures at the court with proof of due process being followed and then release the list to the public.

By God's grace, in less than 66 hours, the outcome of the court case would have been determined successfully and we can then look forward to our apls. I doubt that they would want to release the list before the court case or else they should not have responded in the first place but anything can happen sha. #WatchandPray

Everything you have stated here is completely wrong though. You are not a lawyer so I will advice you to stop listing your imaginations as a statement of fact. It's one thing to be hopeful, which is good and it's another thing entirely to be dreaming. They might end up releasing APLs but everything you have stated here is simply a figment of your imagination and its a billions miles away from the true position of court proceedings

LOL. I get that people tend to be optimistic and all. But as a lawyer, I will simply opine that status quo ante bellum simply means that the parties should hands off the subject matter of the suit and the status of the parties revert to the time before the suit was instituted. Therefore, in relation to this case, parties return to the status before the test/interview was conducted. Consequently, the parties cannot do anything and any of the parties found wanting will be charged for contempt of court. I know NNPC's legal team knows the effect of such so they wouldn't dare do anything either under ground or above ground.
2ndly, as to the issue of the final judgement of the court. Notwithstanding the ratio decidendi of the court or Even if the court rules that nnpc has the legal and equitable right to cap the age at 28, the petitioner/lawyer may choose to appeal the judgement of the high Court and proceed to the court of appeal and if he is still not satisfied then proceed to the Supreme Court. I'm not trying to be a downer here but knowing the justice system in Nigeria it will probably take a minimum period of 4 to 5 years to proceed from the high court to the Supreme Court. A miracle might happen though cos hey, God is still alive. But I will just advice that if you can keep yourself busy try and do that cos it might take a little bit of time.

The process has not been cancelled please. Yes it’s currently on hold pending when approvals are given to the new package review for all the staffs at NNPC. I was told the new mgt are delaying it because of the package review currently at presidential villa for approval. They won’t want to issue APL to new recruits with the old package. So that’s the reason behind the suspension of the process. He also said Maybe in November or December it’ll be concluded.

Many of you are very funny. Yall are forgetting that NNPC is a company that can decide not to hire anybody anymore. Was there a contract between yall and them to mandatorily employ you when yall went for interviews. I don't get many of you on this platform. Why do you want to use hand to spoil what you began. If they decide not to employ anyone I wonder the court you will go to force them to take you. The problem with most of you is that you haven't thought of life without nnpc, daydreaming about how you will be earning fat salaries.
