@honmusa, my mechanic has started the elimination method today. He replaced the MAF sensor and advised that i drive the car till Saturday ( since i drive only from home to office and vice versa) for the smoke to clear.
As im waiting for that, I needed the gurus in the house to inform me whether the effect of d change is supposed to be immediate or gradual. Thanks

what is your observation so far? Thick black smoke or getting a little faint?

I said start from the O2 ,remove it (dont change it),run the engine and check if you still have a black exhaust smoke. It an immediate thing !!!!

yes someday but not now. Nigeria will never allow Biafra go peacefully. It will be bombed till the extent that it will require another forty years to rebuild. ECU's performance depends on the data received from sensors so that makes it less of a culprit. Run the engine and have someone examine the change in exhaust fume as you disconnect the injector sockets one by one with a little rev ups to prevent engine from going off.

okay so a couple of major things to examine:

Better lighting system.

Effective brakes

Smooth pick up of drive of the transmission

Ask of the engine's age and it's service history.

Examine engine for leaks, overheating and cracks in hoses, pipes and plastics.


Check for interior leaks, if possible test drive the car in the rain.

Now, one major thing-the suspension and steering. How would you rate the shock absorbers and vehicle alignment from your driving judgement?

Wheels. Check the tyres for thread wear and cracks

Have the vehicle scanned. Possibly an electronic air/fuel inaccuracy or a mechanical defect.
