why play bron, Kyrie who has some injury scare and love that many minutes ?
That, I can't explain. All I know is that the first three quarters showed what the cavs are capable of doing (Ball movement was 100 on 100 and Defense was not bad either). I prefer to call it a planned work because there is no other explanation I can give to it.

Just look at the 5secs violation by LeBron late in the fourth. Dude was just holding the ball looking like mumu.

Lol. This Hawks game was just like a plan work. I believe we would see the real Cavs team on the screen when its p/offs
Aswear! That's the only explanation I can think of regarding that game. I feel T.Lue is trying to avoid Miami heat in the first round of the playoffs.

lol.can you say the same thing now?
I stand by my words. Regular season record does not really mean much. The NBA title belongs to the team with 16 post season wins. So, Don't write off the Spurs and Rockets too soon. Last year win by the Cavs shows anything can happen in NBA.

really hard to watch.
if them no wan play make them just they run plays for smith make him shoot himself out of this slump.
Don't be surprised if he ends the game with a 2-19 on 3point shooting. He's been awful this season even before his injury. Another major concern is the bench, those guys no dey productive at all.

The only difference between this and what Wade-Butler did/said earlier in the season is that LeBron is James; while Dwayne is Wade. grin
Wow! shocked You mean you see no difference between what James said in order to incite the boys and get them ready for the task ahead and What Wade did which created division among his team and made many fans lose their respect for him?

When LeBron accuses his teammates of lacking toughness, WTF is he on about? Bros J be feeling like Superman. Soo very good at deflecting the blame when things go South. That tin wey hhim dey find, he no go see am.
I don't really see his statement as an accusation. I believe he was just trying to get his teammates ready for the big task of defending the title. A lot of players on the team, including LeBron, had a poor performance against Denver. So, All of them need to work on the mental aspect of their game. Aside that, LeBron is the leader and he's been at the finals more than any active player. So, he knows what it takes to be at the big stage and probably he has noticed some things in the team that we, as fans, don't get to see.

Brother 2 more rings? Where does that leave KD?
Abeg KD deserves a ring or two jare, I don't want LeBron equating himself with The Ghost or even thinking he is better. Dude should just age quickly and retire to his Hollywood role.
No doubt, He's one of the best players in the league but he needs prayers to get a ring or two. He's just too unlucky! He joined the warriors with the hope of getting a ring and now he's down, Klay and Curry are also finding it difficult to get their 3point groove.

You think that's coincidence?

How you people come up with these things cracks the hell out of me. KD was MVP in 2014. 2015 he got injured against GSW in a game he scored 30 points by half time and that was the end of his story. The only thing KD needed to do to get out of the conversation was to get injured.

Again he is out of the conversation because he is injured even to the point that a younger Lebron (with a star-studded team) went 2-2 with respect to finals will all of a sudden become 2-0 on his last legs because KD will not be 100%. grin

I hate to take anything away from Lebron but no matter how he or Kyrie played last season, Harrison Barnes makes 2 more shots either in game 5, 6 or 7 and Lebron is stuck on 2. Science again.
cheesy
What area of science is that grin. I think you need to stop whining about your team's failure to win the title last year and just pray KD returns on time.

Baines didn't make the turnaround shot that you wanted. LeBron, Jeff, Love and others didn't make all their shots either. That's basketball for you. wink

his problem (James) is that he really needs to do something great in the regular season to get the award and he doesn't want to.
I don't think he'll ever win the MVP again he'll finish fourth this year.
That's true. I think he's done with the regular season MVP award. All he wants now is the NBA title and that's why he becomes a different animal in the playoffs/finals.

I hope he gets 2 more rings though cool

By historic you mean minutes played? (that's similar to what you mentioned about a player being outta the coach's control) cos tbh I don't see no history other than his moving up the all time list in scoring and all that which is bound to happen for a player with such longetivity.
Harden and Westbrook to me are in the same argument.
KD and Kawhi too are in same bracket, quietly efficient, not spectacular. NBA i believe is a flair league, one for the numbers. But it's all good, a dozen games from having a surprise. James may surprisingly be named the MVP, and the pundits would bring out numbers to defend the decision. grin
Many people don't like LeBron but sentiments aside, I think the Dude has been phenomenal this season. His average of over 8reb and close to 9assists is the best he's ever had in his career. Aside that, He's been shooting the ball well from the 3point range ( Even better than durant, WB and JH).

It's obvious that the MVP award is between JH and Westbrook but I think we need not disrespect the 32-year old mofo. The guy dey ball abeg!

shocked cheesy

Same sentiments here, I never reckoned with him but at some point, you couldn't just wish away the numbers.
I mean, it's not like he notches his TDs over mediocre teams, dude is on course to average a TD for the season. That's no mean feat, hyped or not, only the Legendary Oscar Robertson has managed that feat.
Let's just give it to Westbrook for this season. The bigger boys can take their tin next season cheesy
Well said,brother!

Nothing westbrook can do will satisfy some people, i think okc has lost only six games when he gets a triple double, so yes, he needs to rack up that triple double for his team to have a chance, that says about the talent around the kid. Make we appreciate am abeg
I didn't even see your post before I dropped mine but it's good to know that many of us respect his hard work and leadership skills.
SportsRe: The NBA Begins by Muna15: 8:17pm On Mar 17, 2017
No disrespect to Harden and others but I think Westbrook deserves the MVP award more than them. Leading a team that lost their best player to a competitor is not an easy task especially when one is surrounded by inexperienced players.

Like LeBron, Harden is on a team with good shooters and that makes it easier for him to get assists. Aside that, Harden enjoys running into players to draw fouls and we all know how efficient he is in shooting free throws.

Kawhi is the best two-way player in the league no doubt, but Harden and Westbrook lead him in virtually all stats categories. He should just collect his DPOY award and go.

I don't even like Westbrook but the guy don try abeg.

He referred to mental toughness and even restated what he had said in a previous post.

If we are referring to leadership, you may have a point but Curry has a ring and Harden and KD don't. If anyone then wants to claim he did not lead his team to winning the ring they may need to make an argument with facts only they would imagine.
Amen smiley
SportsRe: The NBA Begins by Muna15: 5:52pm On Mar 11, 2017
Eruditor:
Good question. That is my point; because someone did not play well does not mean they lack the mental strength to. I mean, all Curry's life he was being told "not good enough, too small, too fragile, one trick pony" etc and the same player has a ring and 2 MVPs to show for it yet his mental-toughness is still being questioned.

A player that was pivotal to his team's 67-15, 73-9, 1 ring 2 finals season is the one that needs KD to carry his team?
The Dude talked about Leadership, not just mental strength. Curry's mental-touchness makes him continue to shoot 3's despite his recent failures but I think leadership involves more than that.

So where was Lebron's leadership when Dallas beat Miami 4-2?
Where was Kawhi's leadership when OKC drubbed Spurs 4-2?
Where was KD's leadership when a Curry-led GSW beat OKC (with Russell and KD) 4-3?
Where was Harden's leadership when a Curry-led GSW beat his team 4-1 in 14/15?
And where was Curry's leadership when his 73-9 team blew a 3-1 lead in the 2016 NBA-finals?

You forgot to add that wink

We know Love is what TT is trying to be but you're overrating those teams most esp Wizards

Wall needs help. Beal is good but sadly he's no game changer and injury baked. Wizards should get an all star or at least an SF/PG that duly attacks that rim before they can truly compete.

Celtics have improved but they can never take Cavs to 7 games. Last year Raptors was better and that didn't change anything. Celtics can contain to an extent but can they produce the points to overcome?

I no dey worried about Cavs. I understand your doubt cos you're a fan.

Na Warriors, the only team that can beat Cavs convincingly wey dey worry me
They need to get their shit together first. Something tells me Utah Jazz fit surprise us cheesy

That aside even without Love, Cavs will be at the finals. Nobody has their firepower regardless of Love's absence.
I think you're underrating the Celtics and the wizards here. Love had to put up 39points for us to win against the wizards and we lost to Celtics without him.

I agree with you that the Cavs have enough to get to the finals but I think Love needs to be in the team in order for them to have a greater chance of winning. We can't rely on TT and LeBron alone for rebounds especially when we've got to play teams with good rebounders.

For instance, TT had just 4reb yesterday in a game where Drummond had 16 and He(TT) also had around 8rebs against the Celtics.

We need Love, man.

Manutd19:
You think Celtic and the Wizard has a chance against the Cavs in the playoff? I say they have zero chance. This comes up every season especially when the Cavs ain't playing well and people always forget playoff Cavs is much more different from regular season Cavs. I ain't worry, they will be in the finals.
The Current Cavs team is not the same as that of last year. Last year, Our Players had no injuries entering the playoffs, we had a big man and the team chemistry was good. JR was also better last season than he's been this season (Even before he got injured).
Celtics and W.wizards have also stepped up this year and their main men (I.T, Beal, Wall, Crowder, etc) are as hungry for success as LeBron and Kyrie.

I've got great believe in the team and I know they can do wonders in the playoffs but from what I saw in the last few games, I think we've got some work to do and I hope K.Love returns on time. We kinda miss his 3's and rebounds
SportsRe: The NBA Begins by Muna15: 5:23am On Mar 10, 2017
birdman:
both teams made the finals last year. they know they probably will again and the target is on their backs. Regardless of how hard it looks like they are playing, I assure you they are coasting on star power, trying to end the season without getting injured, getting mentally tired and giving away plays. They are going to try and win no 1 seed if they can. But they know 2 or 3 seed is no biggie. warriors especially know they have a slugfest coming up.
I disagree with you on this, birdman. The finals is not as sure for the Cavs and GSW as it was for them last year. Celtics and Wizards are balling right now and I believe the Cavs cannot take them for granted.

As for seed, it's very important abeg! TD garden is not an easy place to play especially during the playoffs.

Without KD, this GSW no fit beat Utah not to talk of SAS.

that high pick-roll with drummond chop the cavs for like three straight possessions.
maybe na defence but something is wrong the playoff is almost here.
Aside playing defense, I think the team need to move the ball more. I'm getting concerned about the playoffs as well, but I hope K.Love returns on time and the team get their chemistry back.

you never know what you're getting with the Cavs anything you watch them.
great win for the Pistons.
LeBron and Kyrie had a decent game, Fyre also did a great job of getting rebounds and making his 3's but the same can't be said of others. We got slayed in the fourth quarter by a team that wanted it more.
